Fun if implausible read about time travel.
Read all three books, straight through- good pacing, I cared about the characters and, best of all, I learned things!
First story good, others too predictable.
I don’t usually like futuristic or science fiction but these books were more historical fiction novels I enjoyed very much.
I wasn’t impressed with this time traveling series. The stories were very similar.
Book one and book three were excellent. Book two dragged quite a lot. History information was great.
Fun and absorbing. Great summer read.
Great concept – time travel. I’m a history buff & love the way characters & actual events are interwoven
I love these books and look forward to more of his books. hopefully in this series. I{ would pay money for them.
The time travel premise is outside my usual fare, but allows a great opportunity to have modern day people interpret the past in a first person setting. The characters were strong and their encounters entertaining and enlightening.
Fun at first but repetitive and stilted after you read more than a couple of them. I had hoped for more…
Found the history very interesting and a really new way to look at the founding and development of the U.S. Explains a lot about our current political divide. We have all been taught about the founding of our country through rose colored glasses.
One star for the concept..time travel.. Poor character development, dialogue very immature…read first oh three stories…tried to read the second, and was impossible to continue. Never read the third..based on first two. I would not recommend this set to anyone
Too predictable
I bought this series because I am always interested in time travel. I liked the mechanism for travel in this volume: a tunnel illuminated by special crystals, as well as the wealthy tunnel owner’s inviting likely candidates to go back in time to do research for him.
My challenge with this three volume series was that the series began to feel formulaic, with travelers from the present each grappling with the same romantic challenge once they’ve gone back in time. They meet someone, fall in love and then have to decide if they’ll stay in the past or bring the new love home to their future, despite the admonition they have each received to not interfere in the past.
What a great twist on this idea. Amazing read wort every second
I like this author, but did not find these three to be his best. However, entertaining and I did enjoy the reads.
A college professor takes a journey and ignores directions about where and when to journey. He bends the rules and takes the consequences.
I read the first of the books and thought it was ok. I was more interested in a step back into history through the eyes of a contemporary father/son duo. It got to be more about rules broken and risks taken than about the period in which they were living.
Entertaining new ideas.
