Read two of the three..started repeating itself. But if you just read one it would be a good book.
Time travel is used to present the nations problems in a very readable way.
It was ok. I thought the characters didn’t act like real people would. Found it a bit maudlin.
Great books. I loved them. Fun read.
It had everything packed into one book. Never new what the ending would be till the end.
Time travel is my favourite genre and this particular take on it is very interesting. It’s controlled rather than random. The three books in this one volume are set basically in 2016-17 and the travellers can only go to one of nine years in the 20th century, with a set of rules. Although there is a basic theme to begin all the books, they’re in no way formulaic – each is different. I like that it made me think, and ask my family “When would you go to and what would you do if you had the chance, without fundamentally changing history?” . I loved these three and I will definitely read the other two in the series, and more by this author
This time travelling series is fantastic! The first novel, Scarlet Sky, takes the reader through a hurricane, and leaves nothing out in the details. The second novel, Mercer Street, takes the reader to the onset of World War Two, and the decisions three women make. The third novel, Indiana Belle, is a great look at the Roaring Twenties. Highly recommend! Looking forward to the next book.
Loved this American time travel series!
Loved the three stories
All three novels were enjoyable to read. Each with a different place
in which to travel, and each with it’s own puzzle to solve.
I’ve read the first two stories and they were completely original. I’ve never read another book even similar to these stories. They were very descriptive of the times which I loved because the stories take place in the past. Never a dull moment. I look forward to finishing the third story!
I highly recommend this book! I enjoyed it tremendously. I have read other time travel books, but this is one of the best! The author covered most of the bases and I was never quite sure what would happen and gave me lots to ponder and wonder about. It is a good way to learn history in an easy way. Quite enjoyable!
I liked that this covered the subjects of emotional and physical abuse. It is such a huge problem in the world and it’s hard to find fiction referencing this. It was a great read because it attempted to tackle Abusive relationships in its plot. (September Sky)
I am a big fan of time-travel books but the father and son traveling back to 1900 in Galveston was not very believable. The book piqued my interest and I read the whole first book of the series. Afterwards I thought there was very little characteristics of 1900 life.
I love this author- interesting books with history included!!!
Can’t wait for the next book!
Awesome!!
Totally enjoyed the first 3 of this series. Look forward to continuing. Although time travel is not a new idea, the way in which these stories are put together is original.
Love all Heldt books. Time travel with a pleasant twist.
Thought provoking
The premise is time travel which I find intriguing. September Sky had me reading through the stilted dialogue to find out how the story played out. I’m not a fan of lengthy inner dialogue and conjecture, therefore, when Mercer Street contained more of that with stilted dialogue, I gave up reading these novels. Reviews are subjective, so I admit that I will skip sections that seem like filler more than relevant to moving the story forward.
