I’m in love with my best friend. But one sip of a spelled pumpkin spice latte, and two shifters are calling me their mate. It’s hard enough being a chameleon shifter with wonky powers, but opening Jewels Cafe with my secret crush? Maybe not the best idea. Hiding my feelings for him is getting harder and harder. And if we don’t get customers soon, our cafe will go out of business. As a last ditch …
As a last ditch effort, we create a signature pumpkin spice drink. One taste-test and the sweetest bear shifter is drawn to me like honey. A sexy bunny shifter offers me his carrot. They don’t even seem to mind that I randomly shift (and half-shift) into everyone I meet.
But can I handle not just one mate, but three? And will we find a way to save Jewels Cafe before another spell tear us apart?

Absolutely loved this book! This is the first book that I have read by Mia. Mia rocked it!
The town, Silver Springs, is for both supes and human. Jewels Cafe is the center of this book. I’m guessing the center of the series as well. Amber and Julian have been best friends for years and own the cafe. They both have wonky magic and it’s absolutely hilarious. I laughed a lot while reading. Across the street is Debitch of the book, Minerva. I’ll let you find out why I’m my opinion she is Debitch. Two shifters, Wes and Chase, get brought into the craziness that is Amber and Julian. Together they find what is wrong with the cafe. Oh, Ruby and Sapphire make a small appearance. This is a wonderful RH love story with a little mystery.
•••••• I highly recommend this book/series! ••••••
So. I usually have absolutely terrible luck. But I got very lucky this one time and got to be an ARC for this book. The characters in this book made me laugh, cry, and a little hot. Everything was very well written, world and characters. I felt all the emotions that Mia had the main characters feel. The plot was great and there were a lot of heavy feelings, but also had some nice light hearted moments.
I’ve read plenty of books about shifters, but never about a chameleon shifter. Mia did a great job of making this new character with her cute little quirks. The book also has its very hot moments that make you fan yourself. But I won’t ruin it for you.
I totally recommend this book to anyone who likes a good read.
“Last thing I need is for one of them to tell my best friend, Julian, that I like to parade around as a guy in my spare time. Which I don’t. I swear!”
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book.
“Amber” is a light and entertaining reverse harem read. The main character, Amber, is a “chameleon”: a supernatural creature that can become anything she wants–an ability made particularly interesting as when they transform into a person, they reflect any traits that the person had at the time.
Amber co-owns a cafe with her witch BFF Julian (with whom she is secretly in love with) that is in danger of going out of business. Throw in some hot shifters (the very interesting idea of a bunny shifter included), potential crossovers for future books and, of course, a spicy pumpkin latte–you have the perfect mix of fun, cute and unique.
I recommend to anyone thinking of giving it a shot!
P.S. I’ve never had a spicy pumpkin latte before, but I find myself wanting one very much after finishing this book.
I enjoyed reading Amber. I found the storyline well written and the characters enjoyable. The story kept my interest throughout. I will definitely be reading more from this author and looking forward to reading the next book. I recommend reading.

An excellent instalove WhyChoose quick-read romance. Mia doesn’t disappoint. . .
Amber and Julian own a coffee shop. Julian cast a spell that goes wrong then Amber ends up with Julian, Wes and Chase as her mates. So what does a shapeshifter a witch a bear shifter and a bunny shifter do when they are under a spell? Cute and fun read

Super cute start to the series. I liked that her powers were on the fritz. Who knew life could change so much from a sip of coffee. I really liked her shifter mates they were super cute.
Oh my goodness this was a great book. In loved Amber and the gang. I read this book in one sitting. My only drawback was that I WANTED MORE!!
Amber finds her mates in a weird way. How it happens was a mystery to me but all unfolded as you read along. My heart went out to her. You can only keep a secret love for so long before you crumble. Also With The cafe on the rocks, something is bound to give? Who will be there to help her. What will she do when she meets her mates? Oh boy So much happens in a short amount of time. So much is revealed?
I laughed and shook my head during this book. I was truly invested. This book is a great start to the Silver Springs series. I highly recommend. You will get a happily ever after.

First of all, chameleon shifter! Yes, please. The story had humor and a very nice assortment of guys for her reverse harem. Loved the shoe store scene. The only downside for me was how fast the characters were introduced. I would have liked to have had more story behind the guys. Now Julian’s story was told enough but the other two needed more for me. Characters were varied. Story pace was fast. The love scene parts were too fast for me especially with her being a virgin. This would have made it a 3 for me automatically but the other reasons above pulled it to the 4 star. Will continue to read the series.
Nice book about a girl Amber who runs a cafe with her best friend. She is a chameleon shifter. He is a witch and tries a spell. It didn’t quite work how he imagined. Now she has two guys who claim to be her mate.
A sweet and very steamy story about a chameleon shifter that owns a cafe with her best friend. As well as all the complications with unrequited love, mates, misguided magic and back-stabbing so called ex-school friends. Its got it all!! Great book
Amber is a cute, lighthearted, quick read stand-alone. It was a fun read, but I really wanted more from it; it felt too rushed. I think the only thing I disliked about Amber was her lake of self confidence. It was a pretty good introduction to the Jewels cafe world and I can’t wait to see what the other authors come up with to continue on. I’m hoping that Amber and her men pop up again at some point so we can see how they are doing. Wish the book had been a little longer so that there’d have been a little more sexy time .
Overall, it was a good break from the intense reading that I’ve been doing lately and I’d recommend to someone looking for something light and sweet.
Amber, Mia Harlan’s Book 1 in her Jewel’s Cafe series, is a deliciously sweet little gem of a story.
We meet Amber and Julian, and watch as they skate around where they, as best friends, want there relationship to go. What adds to their dilemma is that they are starting a business in a Supe community. These are sexy characters who find that the might need some new friends to help out their situation.
A fast and pleasurable read!
Such a great read and an amazing introduction into the world of Silver Springs! I love the chemistry between Amber and her men. While the interactions between her and one of the men can be frustrating at times, the angst and buildup is definitely worth it! Highly recommend
Amber was a fun quick read. Would have loved if the story could have been a bit longer so the relationship between Amber, Julian, Wes and Chase would have developped a bit less like an insta love in one day story for some of them. It still was a good and fun read though and love all the characters.

This frigging awesome book had me going from the beginning. Amber is a sweetheart and the guys are yummy. Talk about finding love in strange places. I’m sure I’ll have a sore knee tomorrow from all the leg bouncing. I’m signing up for a home in Silver Springs and a pumping spice latte from Jewels Cafe.
I’ve read other books from this series totally out of order, or well which book was published first. They all read as standalones, but it was awesome to read the book that started everything.
Amber is just amazing and her men i love them everything about this book is just fantastic i cant wait to read this whole town
I love it when a book or story takes me out of my head and into someone else’s for a while. This one does just that. It brought me to a cafe where I’d love to spend an afternoon people watching. Amber and her men are a little offbeat, which I love. This story isn’t overly plotted with unbelievable twists and conflicts. It’s a romance with fun, laughs, quirks and loads of Pumpkin Spice lattes. I really enjoyed in and if you like your PNR quirky, you will to.
Loved this whole series
Amber is the first book in this intriguing small dupe town series. Amber and Julian are best friends/co-owner of Heels Cafe. Julian in a last ditch effort to leave the friend zone with Amber, accidentally casts a mating magnet instead.
Is Wes, Chase and Julian really mates to Amber or is the attraction from the spell alone? How do you tell if it is real at all? Read to find out what happens when Amber has to deal with secrets, mating, travel spells and running a business.
