Caleb hurried to the post office. He had to get in and out before his sister finished at the general store. “Any mail for the Stuarts?” he asked the postmaster.
The postmaster took a lazy look at him over the top of his eyeglasses and gave a heaving sigh as he turned around to check. “Yep. Somethin’ from Ohio and somethin’ from Montana.”
Tapping his foot, Caleb waited until the large man put … until the large man put the letters lazily in his hand. As he left he wondered why Anna had written someone in Montana and who she knew in Montana. It was really none of his business, but he was still curious. He folded the Ohio letter in half and stashed it in his back pocket. It would get wrinkled, but at least Anna wouldn’t know about it.
As Caleb struggles through some inner battles, he secretly starts a correspondence with a widow and her daughter. Their unabashed faith in God convicts him and increases his inner struggles.
Unable to find a steady job, Maggie places an advertisement to become a mail-order bride. Her daughter, Rachel, is her motivation and encouragement, but if Maggie doesn’t find a job or husband soon, Rachel might not survive through the next year.
Can Caleb learn to trust God despite his past? Can Maggie and Rachel hold onto their faith despite all their trials? What will happen when they meet in person?
While this book can be read as a stand alone, it would be easier to understand some portions of the story if you read the second book of the series, Be Thou My Vision first.

Nice clean romance
Loved this book.
It’s a good Christian read without having the same basic plot over and over. Also liked the historical setting.
This book goes along with Solid Rock. And I’d equally as intriguing. What a great read.
4 stars
I purchased a copy of the Christian novel Hymns of the West book 3: Amazing Grace by Faith Bloom and this review was given freely.
A faith filled mail order bride story and good Christian drama filled with multiple letters as well as excerpt of family life. Book three continues in Tennessee but reverts briefly to the time of Jed’s violent departure, is focused on the Stuart family,Caleb’s romance with Maggie, Maggie and her daughter Rachel’s story which starts prior to the death of Maggie’s husband, Iain’s struggles with alcoholism, Anna life with the Pastor, and Anna’s correspondence with Hester Brookings from Montana.
Her best one yet! Loved it!!!
This is a excellent inspirational story, very well written. A great story that showed the struggles many of us go through, excepting the day to day trials, whether we’re young or old. I loved the characters and could easily relate to them. Loved how young Racheal showed faith that inspired others to open their hearts, even during the hard time of losing someone she cared for and wasn’t sure if they had excepted God’s grace for forgiveness, and received true peace at death, Toby and Racheal’s demonstration was heart warming and truly inspirational.
I’m looking forward to reading more of this series by Ms. Blum.
I like a good clean romance, but this is much too preachy for my taste.
Good book
While the concept of a story the name of the hymn, the novel disappointed.
Good read though a bit slow at times.
Very sweet book. Definitely worth the time.
Some areas were way too detailed. The story would flow better if there weren’t so many little details. Some information was given more than once and then loses impact.
I like inspirational, historical romance novels. This one wasn’t all what I expected but it wasn’t boring either!
Loved it.
Really enjoyed this book. I will read more books by this author.
I really enjoyed the message. Very fitting
Nice easy read
Too much violence. Not what l would call Christian Fiction. I liked the other books in this series okay, but l only got about half way through this one, and l had enough!
An enjoyable story about a man out west needing a wife and a young mother needing a husband. Getting to know oneanother through letters. Finally Maggie brings her daughter out west and they meet and get married. But that’s not all! Rachel meets her new grandpa. And life changes again…..
