A well-written story that kept me turning pages. Alyssa’s story was full of heartbreak but also love a story with twists, and turns. I also feel sorry for Eric. I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Alyssa was a broken woman. Eric was the love of her life and he just about killed her. When she finally got on her feet his brother waltz into her life. Cameron was different than his brother and did every thing he could to get what his heart wanted and that was Alyssa. Then the rug was pulled from under them when it turns out Eric had a tumor. Now that that threat was over, they had to play it up because he didn’t remember any of. The truth finally comes out and Eric was hurt and mad. Cameron and Alyssa finally get their happy ending or do they….cant wait for the next book.

There is more drama, twists, turns and heartache then you can shake a stick at in the first book of this series. The characters are well developed, including the secondary characters and the story itself is very complex, with a twists and turns to keep you on your toes and turning the pages. The only flaw I can really find in the story was the ending, it felt a bit abrupt to me. I am really looking forward to reading more of this series, as there are still so many unanswered questions. Even though there is a HEA the story itself is not done, so do understand that there will be more to read after this book to get all of the answers you will be looking for. This one does not end with a neat and tidy tied up bow.

After a nasty fight between Eric and Cameron Eric receives a head concussion and they find he has a brain tumor which has caused his irrational behavior so Cameron and Alyssa have to act like friends around Eric instead of the lovers they are. This was a well written at time emotion second chance romance. I was pulled right into this book it was so good with lots of twists I just did not want to put it down. Alyssa finally thought she was safe and far enough away from her abusive ex Eric what she is not expecting is her new boss to be his brother Cameron. This was a really interesting read it made me laugh at times but it also broke my heart too. This is a must-read book it was so good bring on the next one.

I liked this story, that it kept my interest, the characters, the turmoil, and angst. I liked that Alyssa needed to find a way to forgive, but also to never forget. That she found solice, happiness, love, and safety with Cameron. But I felt their relationships with Eric was unresolved. It felt as if the story was unfinished. No closure, so to speak. No epilogue. I have the book 3 1/2 stars because although I liked the story and the characters, I felt the book was incomplete.

This book is about a woman named Alyssa who works at a bar owned by a rather bad person named Marcus. Marcus sells the bar to Cameron, who is the brother of Eric, Alyssa’s very abusive ex-boyfriend. Cameron and Alyssa fall in love and, amidst the great sex scenes, there are lots and lots of events: fights, family tensions, the trashing of Alyssa’s apartment, someone in a coma and then with amnesia, a wedding proposal, and some missing women (possibly human trafficking) among even more events all of which finally lead to an HEA. Well worth reading!
