I read the third book in this series and was crazy over it. This one was no less. It was absolutely amazing. It had everything. The characters were great, the plot was amazing, and the entire thing was the best it could have been. I already know Ms Bryce is an incredible author but this book shot her up on my list of favourite authors. The story had love, pain, and emotion. I cried with them and smiled with them. I was fully immersed in this story. I loved how the story went through their life. It helped me understand how their story started. I believe the blurb gives justice to the story so I won’t put my summary in.
I wrote this voluntary review in exchange for an ARC copy.
This is my first read by K.L. Bryce but it won’t be the last. This love story begins when Reed and Tabitha are children. Their love is innocent and sweet and undeclared, but real nonetheless. The years pass, love grows deep and true but the time is never right, so Reed lets chance after chance go by until he gets a wake up call and then has to wonder if he left things too late.
Reed (I love him but I want to smack him sometimes) caused me so much frustration with his reluctance to declare himself. I loved Tabitha, who has had her poor heart crushed too many times. This beautiful, sometimes painful romance is chock full of emotion and cast such a spell over me that I stayed up all night reading because I couldn’t put it down. Mean Crush is the unforgettable story of a love that was always meant to be.
I read this book after Cruel Intent, but it didn’t matter. I love Tabitha and Reed. Just wanted to shake them both silly though!!! You know it’s a great story when you want to get personally involved with the characters!
All those years of unrequited love for poor Tabitha! Reed might have understood that they were both too young, but his rejection was harsh. I was hoping he would have to grovel a bit more.
Loved it! I’ve volunteered to review this book for United Indie Book Blog. This is my first time reading one of KL Bryce books. Mean Crush is the first book in Mending the hearts of Alpha and boy series. This is Tabitha and Reed’s story. Tabitha grew up living next door to her best friend Paige and her older brother Reed. They both have been in love with each other for a long time. This story is full of full of innocence, angst, love, friendship, and betrayals. The book pulled me in from the start and then immediately went back to build the story up. I love the chemistry between them. This one is definitely a must-read for anyone who loves a great story and a fantastic ending!!!!!! Keep up the amazing work. Can’t wait to read more from this author.
This is the 1st on a new series and is Tabitha and Reed’s story. These two grew up together are neighbours, and she has always had a huge crush on him. These two never seem to be on the same page about their feelings as just when they get close them wham, they are off again in different directions. This is a beautifully written story which is an emotional roller coaster, as well as having angst, drama, heartbreak, friendship, betrayal, and off the charts chemistry which all lead to a humorous and all-consuming tale which had me hooked and intrigued throughout this addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author, and I recommend for all readers.
Thanks to the author and Hidden Gems for providing me with this ARC I am voluntarily leaving my honest review. This was a great read, and even though there were times I wanted to throttle Reed and Tabitha, I was thoroughly invested from first page to last! Glad to have discovered this author!
This author was new to me and I have to say I’m so glad I found her. I loved this book. Reed and Tabitha were great. These two have know each other since they were kids. Tabitha is Reed’s sister’s best friend. I loved all the ups, downs and feels this story gave me as they grew up from children to adults, from enemies to lovers!!! I’m so happy this is the start to a series as I’m dying for more!!!
A new author to me and a fabulous read. This story is about Tabitha and Reed. They grew up together and their families are also best friends. Both Tabitha and Reed both shared of a love for books although Tabitha was too young for Reed so he pushed his feelings a side and hid them by being mean to her even though he cared deeply for her. Tabitha also loved him secretly and tried to forget him using boyfriends that never were right for her. This was a fantastic, read with an incredibly romantic ending! I look forward to see more from this author! I voluntarily received an ARC copy of this book from HiddenGems

This is the first time I have had the pleasure of reading a book by K.L. Bryce and I was not disappointed. K.L. has a brilliant way of keeping you on the edge of your seat with her mixture of emotions that run through her wordy creation.
In Mean Crush, we meet Reed and Tabatha who could not be more perfect for each other. However, just like any story with those types of characters, there are always obstacles and reasons as to why they cannot be together. But does that mean they should not be together?
Reed has known Tabatha for years and has always thought of her as his little sister’s friend and a thorn in his side. When he started noticing Tabatha he fought it and continued to fight it for years. Why? Simple, their families are extremely close and there was an age difference.
I loved that Tabatha was not afraid to go after what she wanted even if it caused her heartbreak. I laughed so much at her banter with Reed because she lived to torment him. I think secretly he loved it but always had to give her a hard time. Now Reed did get on my nerves a bit with his overthinking and dick of an attitude. I loved watching/reading them grow into their own person and figuring out what exactly they wanted.
Mean Crush is just what I look for when reading a book and I literally devoured this book in a few hours. I cannot wait to read the next book, Paige’s, just to get glimpses of Reed and Tabatha.
This is my first time reading anything form this author, and I definitely want to read more in the future. This was a great read, well written, the characters have great chemistry, and their story kept me engaged. This was emotional, intense, dramatic, and entertaining!
A wonderful beginning!
As the first book by this author I was surprised at how good it was. The characters were interesting and real. Their situation was also realistic as were they efforts to maintain their relationship. I look forward to her next book.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Very romantic
It’s a good romantic romance, but maybe sometimes too much. I liked the characters, but their reasons for taking risks or not taking, attracting or rejecting their attraction, annoyed me.
The story begins with Tabitha’s doubt when Mark, her boyfriend, asks her to marry him, in front of the stadium audience and she hesitates, but then, the rest of the story is divided between what happened before and why she hesitated, and what she will do now ?
She has always loved Reed, the brother of her best friend Paige. He’s two years older and he has always pushed her away. She doesn’t know the reason, but over several years, it complicates Tabitha’s relationships until the episode with Mark that makes Tabitha ask herself new questions.
Lifetime mean crush.
Tabitha has had a life long crush on her best friend’s older brother, Reed. He did nothing but be rude and aloof to her, treating her like an annoying little sister yet giving her mixed signals of his feelings. She poured her heart out to him several times and was rejected each time. Even though she moved on in her life he was always in the back of her mind and heart and basically ruining any type of relationship she had.
Reed always figured he knew what was best for Tabitha at each time in her life and would never reveal his true feelings. I wanted to punch him!
This was major angst that lasted most of her life. It was a good story that I couldn’t put it down.
