Reviews for Always With You:
★★★★★ “The story is incredibly touching & emotionally engaging. Yet despite it’s heavy subject matter, it’s never depressing. It frequently manages to be humorous & lighthearted without trivializing anything.” – Vibliophile
★★★★★ “This story, along with its prolog novella (available in the author’s newsletter) is perhaps one of the very best stories by this author; and I LOVE ALL of her books!” – Patrice
★★★★★ “My bedtime got pushed way back so I could finish this book. Loved it!” – Amazon reviewer
★★★★★ ”This book made me cry, it was so well writen, so believable, and so sad, and I almost never cry over books. But it didn’t feel like a book. It felt like I knew these people, knew what had happened, and was finally finding out the rest of the story…” – Old Dog
★★★★★ “Jessie is such a great story teller. She doesn’t shy away from hard life issues and handles each story with grace. You always feel better when you finish a book and her stories stay with you when you are done.” – Wren

I was truly blessed by reading this book. It was a story that stuck with me, under my skin and heart deep.
This story has a man, Torque, that humbles himself to live an underserved life, sacrifices himself, and in return he hopes that this sacrifice will protect the one he loves, that she will thrive.
The humble, sacrificial love pictured in this tale is a sweet reminder of Christ’s sacrifice for his bride, the church.
Now under the title of “The Baxter Boy’s Sacrifice.”
Wow. Amazing!! This book had so many ups and downs, my heart sure got a good workout! The characters – those from the prequel and more – are just wonderful. Not perfect people, but perfect characters. The themes in this book of reintegration after incarceration and the stigmas you fight, adoption, and more are all really well done. This book was truly great and I can’t wait to read more of this series.
Audio:
There is some difficulty following the character switches – you have to pay close attention to the dialogue to catch them all. In addition you have to pay attention to catch the perspective changes. But, I still thoroughly enjoyed it.
This story really does break your heart many times.
The Baxter Boy’s Sacrifice by Jessie Gussman (5 stars)
*I highly recommend reading the novella prologue before reading the book (I believe you can find it free at the end of the book-at least it’s free at the end of this book in the boxed-set version…)
This was such a wonderful love story! Torque made a sacrifice for the girl he loved and paid the price for her mistake. 10 years in prison even though he was only 17. (The mystery is never solved as to why his sentence was so harsh and why he was tried as an adult, but life can be like that: harsh. )
Cassidy undergoes some significant personal growth that probably wouldn’t have happened if her guilt for letting him take the fall for her hadn’t been the impetus of change in her life.
Torque survives prison and is still himself and that says a ton about his character.
Ms. Gussman’s characters are what make her books so special. That, and she writes about what she knows. In this series, it’s trucks and mechanics. (In her ‘Cowboy’s Don’t’ series, it’s farming. There’s just a wonderful authenticity to the worlds she creates.
This is a sweet love story where a shining character (and love) wins all.

Touching, inspiring and heartfelt. Definitely with happily ever after. A novel that will leave a smile on your face after reading or listening.
An enjoyable story with more depth than I have seen in awhile. Lately it seems that stories are like cookie cutters and many resemble each other.
Torque and Cassidy make a unlikely couple with their backgrounds but in their personalities it is entirely different. They are both caring, compassionate people with a strong sense of justice. It was as pleasure getting to know them.
The story seemed a little slow at times. I don’t know if it was the story or the narrator who kept a every even reading. It was not boring just not as right now as I’m more accustom to.
I am interested in seeing what Torque’s brothers might be getting up to.
I was given a Audible copy of this story in exchange for a honest review.
Sweet, clean delightful read. Nice clean read that gets ahold of your emotions. He sacrifices everything for his love of the girl. For 10 years guilt has kept her from living the life her family’s wealth had made her accustomed to. This was a great read that allowed everything to work together for their good.
Cassidy is beautiful and rich. Torque is from the wrong side of the rails. But they connect. Until a fatal accident send Torque to prison for ten years ago to protect Cassidy. He is now out and Cassidy intent to repay him for the sacrifice he made ten years ago. Can they have a future together with all the problems they have to face? Beautiful love story. The audiobook is great.
Cassidy caused the accident that put Torque in prison. She has been punishing herself ever since by modeling to pay for law school instead of taking money from her parents and living in a rundown area. I was surprised that the foster agency would let her keep her adoptive son’s twin sisters at her apartment. She had a trust fund that could have given them better accommodations. It isn’t until she the agency wants to take them away that she starts to look for a new place. They also won’t let her have them as a single woman. She wants Torque to be their father, but his ex-con status is a strike against him. I admired him for finding a way to build a life for himself after prison. His former boss’s widow Miss Angelina and her daughter were great seeing the hardworking caring man he was without the stigma.
Another great read, with lots of chemistry and hotness. This is a well written story and hooked me from the start. This is a quick hot read, with a interesting plot and fantastic characters, great emotion and Loads of steam!
