Ruling his LA hotel empire through determination and hard work, Reid Davenport is a mystery to many. Despite the media’s interest in him, Reid steers clear of the limelight–until his life is broadcast in the tabloids, endangering not only his privacy, but that of his parents and his little sister. He’d do anything to protect them…except listen to the fiery and intelligent PR pro, who’s as … who’s as beautiful as she is tempting. Every time she walks into his office, he fantasizes about bending her over his desk and kissing her. Every time she smiles at him, he wants to pull her closer and not let go.
Hailey Connor doesn’t take on uncooperative clients. But the second she meets Reid, she’s compelled to stay and help, even if she must fight his own broody ass to do it. He’s bossy, demanding and so sinfully alluring that she knows she’s in over her head. Reid may be infuriating, but when he talks about his family, she can’t help but melt a little.
With every kiss, they grow closer. With every touch, they fall deeper. They’re opposites…yet perfect matches. But when their different worlds collide, will it tear them apart or bring them together?

Loved this book, had everything in it I enjoy reading in a book. Love every book I’ve read by Layla Hagen.
The last Connor in the family gets her story. Hailey is sassy and fun in all the other Connor books now she gets her story- her chance to find love.
Reid is a hotel owner that avoids the limelight but due to an ex he need Hailey’s PR clean up help.
Reid is perfect for Hailey and she is perfect for him.
I love this whole family and this story was a wonderful ending.
Thank you Layla.
Here’s hoping there is more family out there to come.
5 stars
I had forgotten how much I love this series and am kicking myself for taking so long to read the last book in the series. Reid and Haley were my favourite!! I just adore Layla’s writing. It is the perfect mix of sweet, sexy and heartfelt.
Haley is the last of Connor siblings to find love. She is a force to be reckoned with. I loved her confident, positive attitude even though she struggled a lot after the death of her parents. She is amazing at her job as a PR agent and has a huge heart especially when it comes to her family.
Reid and Haley meet after an ex girlfriend drags his reputation through the mud after she cheated and caused a scandal for him. He is a successful, wealthy hotelier and Haley immediately connects with Reid the moment they meet. She doesn’t fall at his feet like he expects and he was drawn to her sass and confidence right from the start.
Reid and Haley were compatible in every way. They fit into each other’s family’s well, they have similar personalities and not to mention their off the charts chemistry. I couldn’t get enough of them.
The epilogue was my favourite! My eye stung with tears of joy and happiness for the entire Connor family. It is bittersweet to end the series but look forward what else the author puts out next because I know it was be just as great as this series has been.
Reid, Brooding And Misunderstood, Sets His Sights On Hailey Connor – The Last Single Connor Sibling!
Reid Davenport, thirty-two, is a broody, reclusive hotel mogul that until recently lived a quiet, private life. He had dated starlet Marion Carrington for two years – thought he loved her – only to discover that she had been having an affair with his friend and manager, and to top it all off, she had paid for their fun with Reid’s money. His self-esteem took a hit as he took her complaints about his boring, robotic life to heart.
Reid had taken over running his family’s hotel business ten years earlier when his father suffered from a stroke and was unable to return to work. He learned the job and thrived with tremendous focus and a strict schedule.
Hailey Connor, twenty-nine, made a career change from business consulting to PR work that keeps her closer to home and to her five siblings. The Connor family is tight. Oldest siblings Landon and Val left college to return home and raise their four younger siblings once they received the news that their parents had died in a hit and run crash. Hailey was eleven at the time, and she withdrew for several months afterward. She never again trusted in “forever” and stopped dreaming about one day having a family of her own.
Today Hailey embraces life. She loves to travel and has a hard time keeping secrets (except the kind relating to her clients). Her new work at the PR firm has her working Hollywood crises.
When Marion spreads lies about her breakup with Reid in the tabloids, Hailey is called in for a consultation by Reid’s well-meaning assistant. To Hailey, he appears to be an unwilling client and a waste of time. He is a complete jerk, yet she finds him incredibly attractive, and she swears he is about to kiss her in spite of the fact he won’t be hiring her.
When Reid can no longer ignore the tabloid noise, he calls Hailey back. He knows it will be a problem. He is drawn to her like no other woman and hasn’t been able to get her off his mind.
Reid and Hailey are on fire in this steamy romance! The story is written with alternating POVs between Reid and Hailey. Reid is a man that knows what he wants and goes after it, and Hailey, despite her type-A personality, doesn’t stand a chance against his unwavering attention, patience, and charm. Reid is intense and the tension between him and Hailey jumps off the page! They both have pain from their past, but together they face their fears and support one another through scandals and job-related problems. They earn their HEA!
This the final book in the Connor series, but it reads perfectly as a stand-alone. Like the other books in the series, the characters and storyline feel real. It is well-written with a simple but realistic plot. The second epilogue gently brings the series together. I rate this book 4.5 stars.
I received a free advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I loved Always With You by Layla Hagen, the final book in The Connor Family series. It was such a bittersweet book for me since I knew it was the last book in the series, since the last sibling in the Connor family, Hailey, was getting her story. Once again Layla Hagen delivered an incredible story filled with the wonderful Connor clan, that was filled with bittersweet and poignant moments and some surprising plot twists! Layla Hagen has proved that she is an amazing storyteller. Always With You is the story of Hailey Connor, the PR pro in the family and Reid Davenport, who is the owner of a couple of LA hotels. A member of Reid’s staff, solicits help from Hollywood PR for a personal matter involving Reid and his last girlfriend and Hailey gets the assignment. When Hailey arrives, Reid is rude and tells Hailey that he can handle his own personal matters. Reid had just found out minutes before Hailey’s arrival what his staff was planning. Reid is a workaholic, and lives in the penthouse of the hotel where he lives. He doesn’t like to venture out of his fortress. Reid eventually reconsiders his position on outside PR help to handle the media attention created by his ex-girlfriend. Reid tells Hailey the entire story of his relationship and break up with his former girlfriend, Marion, something that he had not done in the past. Hailey handles the media attention with an interview she conducts with Reid and has published online. That only appeased the public for so long, until Marion spreads more vicious half truths about Reid. While working closely together to control the negative media attention, Hailey and Reid develop feelings for each other and a romance begins. We get updates on the other Connors, Val finds out she’s pregnant, Milo gets lost playing hide and seek and Jace and Brooke are planning their wedding. Reid gets invited to the Connor family Friday family dinners. Layla Hagen throws in her usual surprises and plot twists and the relationship between Reid and Hailey must overcome some hardships. Hailey must overcome her fear of losing someone she loves, something that has been part of her life since her parents died when she was eleven years old, if she can expect to find true love with Reid. Layla Hagen has created wonderful characters in the Davenports as well as the Connor family members that i have come to love. Reid decides to fight for his woman and proposes in the most special way, that warmed my heart. My favorite part of the book is the speech that Landon gives at the end, it made me teary eyed. Once again Layla Hagen has delivered a marvelous story, with believable characters, just a little sad that it is the last Connor family book in the series.
This was my first Layla Hagen’s book, and won’t be my last. This is the book 6 in The Connor Family Series. Reid and Hailey’s story is beautifully written, and romantic. I loved it. I love the relationship between the Connor Family members. Sebastian York and Andi Arndt did an amazing job with the narration, as always. I enjoyed listening to this story. Looking forward to listen to the first books in the Series.
4.5 Irresistible Stars!
I am new to The Connor Family series and this charming, steamy romance has captured my heart! This romance is the perfect mix of emotion, humor, and steam.
Hailey Connor has moved back to LA to be close to her family and to start her dream job. She is a wiz at handling PR nightmares and loves a good challenge. Reid is a hotel mogul, who was forced at a young age to take over his family’s hotel business. He is very guarded and private, but loyal and loving with his family. When an ex girlfriend is spreading lies, he will do whatever it takes to protect them. Reid’s assistant hires Hailey to help repair the damage, and Reid is not happy, or cooperative. He is the challenge Hailey loves. Their banter and the way they challenged each other was so much fun and it was performed perfectly by Andi Arndt, and Sebastian York. Ardnt really nailed Hailey’s strength and sassy, while showing her vulnerable side as well. York is perfect as the bossy, demanding Reid and the way he morphs into the tender, protective brother, son, and lover is flawless. They were amazing together as they brought this sweet, touching, and steamy romance to life!
Sparks fly when broody businessman Reid Davenport and PR pro Hailey Connor meet for the first time. His ex decided to air their dirty laundry in public and it’s affecting his parents’ and sister’s lives. She is determined to help him, despite having to fight him every step of the way. The book follows their story as they grow closer and fall deeper as they work together.
I know that this is the last one in a series, and while I haven’t read any of the other books (Layla Hagen is new to me), the writing was done so beautifully that I didn’t feel like there was something missing; but now I want to read the rest of the books!
Andi Arndt and Sebastian York, as expected, didn’t disappoint. I enjoyed listening to the easy banter and flirtation between the two main characters. I just think that the audiobook would have been better if it was recorded as a duet.
Always with You is a contemporary romance written in dual POV and recorded in dual narration. It ends with a HEA. No cliffhanger, no cheating.
I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.
Always with You
The Connor Family, Book 6
By: Layla Hagen
Narrated by: Andi Arndt, Sebastian York
Listening to the Connor family is like coming home. When I heard Hailey’s story was being released, I was so excited. Hailey is a public relations specialist and when Reid, a hotel mogul, was having some difficulty, he hired her. Now spending time together is leading to more than just managing the press! This is the perfect matching of people. Hailey is strong, loyal and will do anything for those she loves. Reid is fiercely protective, loving and willing to take the fall if necessary to keep those he loves safe. Their transition from co-workers to lovers is effortless and oh, so romantic! And the best part of this series is getting to see other Connor family members! Hagen has a wonderful series, all giving that warm and fuzzy feel, low angst and completely immersible entertainment. Her stories fill my heart, and this one is no exception.
Narrated by Andi Arndt and Sebastian York, we just fall into their easy and familiar sound. These two have such a chemistry, it flows even when the characters aren’t there yet! You will love to give this a listen!

I absolutely loved this book and series. Each book I fell more in love with the siblings and their spouses. Each book shed more light on how strong each sibling was and the sacrifices they made for the love of their family.
“…to be so deeply betrayed, hurt, and disappointed that you could never imagine trusting anyone with your happiness again.”
This book was quite steamy and filled with stubbornness, sacrifice, growth, heartache and pure bliss.
“…laid-back and docile didn’t do it for me. Broody, sexy as sin, and ready for a fight whenever I picked one? Sign me up.”
I was heartbroken when I finished the book and realized it is the last of the series. I hope these characters make an appearance in another series. I am not ready to say goodbye to the Connor Family.
Story telling at its best from an author who knows how to capture a readers attention. The Connor’s and Bennett’s are the names most of us associate with this particular author and she did not dissapoint in this latest happily ever after for Hailey, the last of the Connors to be snatched up. Quick thinking, persistence and determination are Hailey’s claim to fame and she makes a great P.R strategist. Meeting a client who holds these same attributes immediately causes friction when he refuses help that her firm can supply. Reid is livid that his personal life is being splashed on front pages and tv screens after a breakup with an ex turns vengeful. Once his family is pulled into the craziness he puts his pride on the side to alleviate the pressure being applied to his loved ones for a rebuttal or tell all on what happened. Hailey knocks him for a loop and pulls him out of his brooding by challenging and engaging him. He likes to win and expects everyone to fall in line with his wishes. Life however, doesn’t work that way and now his desire to stay out of the limelight might become a thing of the past. Hailey draws him out of his reserved shell and he realizes that love is not a myth. Several roadblocks and detours along the way for them in staying committed but they both know when they’ve found the real thing and with lots of help from meddling parents and siblings, they are never apart for long. Mature, soothing and pleasurable to read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Hailey Connor has made a name for herself as a hard as nails Hollywood PR rep. Taking on a new client, Reid, comes with an unusual set of rules as he is is not Hollywood but has made his fortune in hotels. Can you work closely with someone and not have the sparks fly? When the relationship is publicized will it be the end of Hailey’s career? Can two people from different worlds fall in love and get a HEA? Once again Layla Hagen creates beautifully written characters and surrounds them with a storyline the reader cannot put down. Each Connor has found love and I am so glad that Hailey has gotten her chance too.
The story is filled with romance, drama – mostly brought on my Reids’ ex – and laughter. With plenty of twists and moments that will make you cheer, this book will leave you with a smile on your face. I always want to start the series again from the beginning, every time a new one comes out. I love the Connor family!
I loved this book! Layla Hagen has quickly won me over with her beautiful romances and her enchanting Connor family. I just can’t get enough of them. I loved getting lost in this story and spending time with characters who already feel like family.
I was a fan of Hailey’s from her previous mentions in past Connor novels and I was so excited to finally her story. I swear, there couldn’t have been a better pairing for her than Reid. These two were just meant for each other and seeing them get to their HEA was the best! What I loved most was how effortless their transition from only having a working relationship to a personal one unfolded. My bookish heart wanted it and needed it and Layla Hagen made it happen in the best way! Of course there was some low-angst drama, but nothing too crazy and I could always see the light at the end of the tunnel. This was a great read that didn’t fail to leave me with a smile.
Always with You was beautiful and a great conclusion to the Connor series. I really hope this isn’t the end because I could read about this family forever. 5 stars.
The final Connor sibling has been matched up, and with a super sexy millionaire, sigh. I have adored this family of quirky and hard-working siblings, although I cannot seem to settle on which book I liked best; each had unique complications and foibles. Hailey and Reid’s story was so steamy it was hazardous to my Kindle with the additional benefit of allowing me to forgo my cardio workout today as my heart rate and respirations seemed well elevated and near enough to target levels.
It is always bittersweet to come to the end of a series, but maybe this one doesn’t have to end just yet as although all the siblings have paired off, several haven’t made it official yet. Perhaps we should petition Ms. Hagen to consider penning one more Connor book for all the wedding drama. 😉
Overall Rating:
“He awoke something inside me that no one else had before.”
Reading a Layla Hagen book is like pulling a blanket over your shoulders while sipping a cup of tea on a cold winter day. You know that you will encounter sweet characters, a storyline that offers a bit of tension but is really more about telling a story of two individuals falling in love, and it will be steamy. Always with You is Hailey Connor’s story. Like the other Connor siblings, her book is that warm blanket on a cold day. It features an independent heroine, a bit of a broody Mr. Darcy-like hero, and a happy ending. And it’s delicious from beginning to end.
To say that I had been looking forward to Hailey’s story is an understatement. “Always the bridesmaid but never the bride,” Hailey has spent much of the Connor stories relegated to little sisterhood. Keeping secrets for her siblings, running interference when necessary, and helping siblings such as Jace through PR situations explains her place in those books. But I knew that her story would be the best, and it was.
Hailey works for one of the preeminent PR firms in Los Angeles. She’s a pro, a top agent in her firm. She receives kudos for the ways she has helped many of their clientele. She is called in to help Reid Davenport, a young wealthy hotelier who has found himself in a PR debacle with an opportunistic, gossip-loving ex-fiancee. Not liking public attention, Reid hopes, if he ignores it, that the bad press will go away, and he can return to his very organized, staid life. Unfortunately, his ex is intent on keeping him in the spotlight. Hailey offers her help, but, initially, Reid is reticent. He is also incredibly attracted to Hailey from their first meeting. When the press begins to affect his family, he decides to allow Hailey to intervene. Very quickly, these two cannot deny their attraction to each other, but there are consequences to it, consequences that could potentially derail Hailey’s bright PR future. Can Reid and Hailey make a “go of it?” Do they find their happy ending? Remember, this is a Layla Hagen book, so happy endings are her currency.
“And the way she looked at me, as if I was the only man in this world for her, slayed me.”
With the last Connor Family book, Jace’s story, I might have mentioned in my review that the trouble in that story felt a bit contrived. I’m always worried when I offer a critique because I am not a writer by trade. In reading Hailey’s book, though, the story was organic. It made sense that Hailey’s career could be put into jeopardy given her relationship with the wealthy hotelier. As her job is to help control and repair the perception of celebrities in the media, dating someone who figures into the media landscape could cause Hailey credibility issues especially when said celebrity/high profile client doesn’t allow his story to be told. Hagen makes this believable throughout the story. When it causes a rift between the two of them, there is true tension that Hagen carefully resolves by the end with the sweetest happy ending for these two.
For all of his broodiness, Reid is the quintessential hero. He’s wealthy, driven, and handsome. What makes him a better hero is his love and interest in Hailey. With the exception of a tiny bit of trouble in their relationship, it’s clear from the start that he only has eyes for Hailey. He seeks to love her in the way she needs. Even more, Hagen uses Reid as a lesson. Reid struggles with dyslexia profoundly. And Hagen, through Reid’s characterization, shows us the challenges of this disability. To handle his disability, Reid creates structure in his life so that he has the time to be prepared for his job. Unfortunately, that structure can be all-consuming creating some of the tension later in the story between the two.
However, it’s Hailey’s zest for life and adventure that allows Reid to become more flexible, more adventurous. She becomes the catalyst for his change. In doing so, she burrows into his heart and soul. Hailey is the sweet to his sour, and Hagen does a superb job of building their “opposites attract” relationship into one that can withstand the challenges of life.
“I loved her confidence, the way her love for life shone in every word. It made me want to change my ways for her, or at least try—it wasn’t in my nature to be flexible, to change.”
Layla Hagen’s stories, while sweet and comfortable, come with lessons. They aren’t meant to be ground-breaking truths. Instead, they are reminders to the reader that life is best lived with love. Always with You is a suggestion that we need to let go, we need to seek out love with the person who feeds our soul and challenges us, and we need to accept them just as they are. The end of this book was bittersweet, as I’m not sure there will be another Connor story, and I know that I will miss this family very much.
“‘We can make everything work,’ she whispered. ‘We will. Because my place is right next to you, Hailey Connor.’”
Another awesome addition to the Conner family series!
Loved this entire series! You won’t want to miss Always With You!!
Love, love Layla Hagen. This story did NOT disappoint!
Layla has done if again. Hailey and Reid’s story was the perfect balance of sweet and steamy we’ve come to expect. Though I feel like this had a little more of a slow burn build up since they were both fighting it so much in the beginning. Her because he was a client and him because he didn’t feel like he was what she needed. But watching him open up and make the little efforts for her and be so damn sweet was so freaking swoon worthy. I swear I was just a puddle by the end of this book. The Bennett’s and The Connors both have become some of my favorite characters. I don’t think I could ever get enough. I’ll always want to know more, to experience more with them.
