I cannot recommend this classic Regency romance highly enough! <3
A brilliant read! A reluctant duke and a fiery miss lock heads and hearts.
Predictable. A good read. This author is a good bet for a smooth, fun read!
Enjoyed reading this book. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
Really enjoyed all the books in this series. Happy to see Theodosia got her happy ever after.
A lady who knows what she wants.
Any book in this series is worth the time to read. .. love the one
I loved this book. Did not want to put it down.
I liked it very much
Absolutely loved this book! What a refreshing read. You never know what will happen in life, and sometimes, the vows we make to ourselves are simply not made to be kept. Richard, Duke of Axwick, has done just that, after finding himself in a position of having to “clean up” not only his fathers’ mess, but his older brothers’ as well, has vowed never to marry, never to father an heir. As luck would have it, the one woman he desperately wants is unwilling to jump into his arms. All Tabitha Chesworth wants in life is to be a bride. After going down the aisle three times as a bridesmaid, she longs to be the bride even more. But it appears that, if Axwick has his way, she will never obtain this goal.
A great read, as this couple bring many laughs and tears, as we are taken along on their journey to happily ever after.
Mills and Boone type, a lovely read.
“Always A Bridesmaid” (Never a Bride, book 1) by Emily E.K. Murdoch
I thoroughly enjoyed my time in this story. I am getting adept at skipping over the steamy parts, I say that because I do remember skimming a few pages. But those scenes did not get a chance to spoil the story for me thus the 5-STARS and I finished reading the story. Now to find the time for book 2. Happy Reading ! !
A proposal.
Miss Tabitha Chesworth has walked down the aisle three times as a bridesmaid. Hearing “always the bridesmaid, never the bride” is awfully painful to hear. During the wedding a most handsome gentleman catches her eye. In fact he can’t take his eyes off of her. Richard St. Maur, sixteenth Duke of Axwick wants Tabitha as his mistress, vowing to never marry. A misunderstanding tears them apart, devastating them both. Who makes the first move to correct it and walk down the aisle? A fast paced romance of passion and love. Great start of the series.
He’s rude, arrogant and determined to win the perennial bridesmaid into his bed. She’s gentle, sweet and equally determined that any bedding comes with marriage. One could dislike Richard St Maur, Duke of Axwick but his beastly behaviour has its roots in his rotten past. Tabitha is witty and outgoing, even though she has not found the love she so desperately sought. She has become the laughing stock of Bath Society due to her repeated trips down the aisle as a bridesmaid, but she holds to her promises that she will not succumb to public demand. In the process, Richard hurts her far more than she could have anticipated but when she comes to realise where he’s come from, Tabitha is once more determined to go after that which her heart desires. This novel is a fairly short read but engages one from the beginning, drawing on the reader’s emotions makes one long to see this couple find their happiness. The book is generally well written and a standalone that comes to a good conclusion.
Loved the twists & turns of the plot at every turn and the interactions of the characters in this story. They learn to look at what they have and not what they fear.
Tabitha is standing up as a bridesmaid for the third time at her cousin’s wedding wondering when her turn will come when she spies “him” staring at her across the room. They instantly hit it off with some really witty banter. Unfortunately, she longs to be married and he has no intentions of ever marrying due to what he believes is bad blood in his family. They both try to win the other one over to their way of thinking, and a great big understanding causes them to take a better look at their relationship. Fun read; liked the side characters as well. Hoping there will be a book on Richard’s sister.
Miss Tabitha Chesworth is a bridesmaid for the third time. While she loves being honored with such a request, she cringes each time someone says “ always a bridesmaid and never a ….”, we all know the rest. while performing her duties at this third wedding for her cousin she is spotted by Richard St. Maur, Duke of Axwicke.
A tall, dark and handsome man in the back of the church staring at Tabitha, he takes her breath away.
Thus begins a torrid attraction between a sweet young innocent and a rake who’s sworn off marriage forever. He wants her, she wants a ring, but who will give in first?
This was a fun story, with witty and interesting characters that begins a new series from this author. I am looking forward to the next.
Miss Tabitha Chesworth is very happy for her bestfriend’s marriage, but being the bridesmaid for the third time seems to prove the proverb true.
She is in that strange place in society. Not noble enough for the titled gentlemen and too rich (now) to be allowed to marry a tradesman.
Richard St. Maur, the Duke of Axwick knows his bloodline is cursed. All the men in his family have been gamblers and mean drunks. There is no way he can allow the name to continue. He must pay off all the debts. Women are only for his enjoyment.
This is a lovely story with great characters. Our heroine is sensible and determined, but sometimes hears what she wants to hear. Our hero has a one track mind and can’t be detered from his course.
Lots of fun.

Tabitha Chesworth is once again a bridesmaid and it seems like everyone keeps reminding her of that fact. All she have ever wanted was to be a bride with a husband to love. When she sees a handsome man across the church her heart skips a beat. Richard St. Maur is the sixteenth Duke of Axwick and has spied Tabitha across the church and decides he wants her as his mistress since he never plans on getting married. Determined he starts his pursuit of Tabitha. Tabitha can’t believe she is being pursued by the Duke but when she finds out he only wants her as his mistress she vows to him the only way he will have her is through marriage. Richard has definitely fallen for Tabitha, but in no way can he marry her not with his family history and Tabitha is just as determined to marry him. This was the first book by this author and I couldn’t seem to put it down! I had to know what would happen next. I loved Tabitha she was so feisty and Richard was used to getting what he wants. Great story can’t wait to read another by this author!
