I love the writing and the story line!
Asher and Emily are a very complicated couple. He is a billionaire who doesnt want to be like his father because he thinks his father was weak. Asher is under the impression that love causes weakness. Emily is dealing with the loss of her whole family. She thinks its in a productive way, but she has just become obsessed with getting a museum open. She meets Asher because his company is trying to buy her land and she goes to his office to let him know that she will not be selling and that it would be best if he just left her land alone. Asher sees something in her that he wants to claim. SO he sets out to get her in his bed, but she had other ideas and she plans to get him to relocate his facility so she wont have to worry about her museum.
They get together. But Asher has a lot to learn about being with a woman for long term. Emily has some trust issues and always feels like people are going to leave her. These two have a lot to work on to be a great couple. This is a pretty good story, and since you meet Asher’s parents and siblings you already start to get an idea of the characters that will be in the coming books.
Love absolutely, love this series. Asher is an arrogant alpha male who takes what he wants and he wants Emilys land . Distant from his family he is all about business. Emily is a innocent girl who wants to carry on her blind artist mothers dream to open a museum for the blind. Their attraction is instant, hot and sexy. Love their banter. All the characters are likable. Can’t wait to read the next book. Wonderful enjoyable sexy read.
I was not thrilled with the main male character. His attitude and the way he treated people turned me off. The book has a happy ending and even though part of a series stands on its own.
Loved this book
Ruth Cardello stepped out of her comfort zone to create a new kind of love story with Always Mine. The characters are bolder, the story sexier and the female lead is a tough cookie. Art imitating life perhaps. Emily was a spitfire. Her determination to keep a promise despite every obstacle Asher threw at her was so out of character for a Ruth Cardello novel. I admire that. Asher is a bulldozer with a cash register for a heart. He measures success by what he has acquired whether it be money, buildings, people or material things. Emily is the complete opposite. She measures happiness by the joy brought to others through simple acts of kindness. These two characters never should have fit as a couple yet they do. They not only fall for each other but learn about themselves along the way. They also learn from each other as well. Ruth Cardello took two complete opposites and made a story that turned out to be a wonderful love story and a life lesson as well. Treat others how you would want to be treated and with kindness and determination anything is possible.
Great book.
