Already Guilty is the fourth book in the C.T. Ferguson Mystery Novel series by Tom Fowler. Private Investigator C.T. Ferguson has a pretty good relationship with the Baltimore Police. He gets along well with his cousin Rich who is a detective on the force. When a well-loved and respected police officer is murdered, the police arrest the obvious suspect who proclaims his innocence. No one believes him except his public defender attorney who convinces C.T. the guy is innocent. C.T. investigates to find the real murderer – causing problems for C.T., his parents, and the police. No one is happy. An excellent good read.
Our intrepid PI is roped into investigating a police officer’s murder. The results are right out of the news today, but I certainly hope our Police Force isn’t like the ones we read about in this, fast paced story.
I really enjoyed reading about the events as they occured, our author has a knack for describing places and events. Thankfully, he doesn’t turn a good detective story into a sexual escapade. Yes there is sex, but more like attraction, not described.
CT, has to swim against the tide of disapproval to find the actual murderer and in so doing, finds corruption within the ranks. I think you will enjoy it more than I did.
Very interesting , good read !
truly an eye opener into police work, i hope most of it is fiction…but if only a small portion is actual,,,wow,,,super interesting and intriging…
First Fowler book and 1st one of this series. Loved it! Well done and kept pulling me through the action. Absolutely going to read more by him.
Got the same feeling I had watching “the Rockford files.”
Good story but you get frustrated with the police.
C.T. Ferguson’s character was built very well in the story. That was a great plus point while reading the book.
A cop is found dead while working on his car and the apparent culprit is also caught.
C.T. Ferguson decides to help the culprit because he is convinced that the man is innocent. His actions make him go against the cops and his own cousin, but he still does it.
The twists and the turns of the story were perfect and enjoyable and it was unpredictable till the very end. Liked it.
PI CT Ferguson takes on an explosive new case! When a cop is killed he’s up against the Baltimore Police Department, his cousin, Rich and many more. Even after a severe beat down he stays on the case to find the “real” killer. This book is action packed! It was hard to put down as the story got more and more complex with little progress until he busted it wide open. This is the most heart pounding of all the books I’ve read so far! I highly recommend this book and this author!
Cousin Rich has helped CT resolve many a case, and they have been buddies since hey were kids, despite a slight age gap. But as Rich says, the cop who died and the men I serve with are my brothers. you’re only my cousin.
Finding the truth about a cop killing means risking, and receiving, the wrath of the BPD.
unveiling others, who betrayed even a grieving widow to help out extended family, a righteous cause, but a dangerous one.
another edge of your seat quest through murky ethics, violence, and red tape – and a very good read I just couldn’t put down!
Having read all CT Ferguson’s books, I purchased Already Guilty knowing Tom Fowler had written another 5 star book. I’ve read a lot of PI books and I can say CT is the best created and developed PI out there. His background of rich parents, computer hacker, done prison time in foreign jail and became PI to make his parents happy and continue getting money from them all play a role in making him an intriguing PI that solves cases. Already Guilty is CT Ferguson’s most difficult case to solve. Never has been a fav person of the police force, this case puts him at total odds. When he believes there is an injustice, man accused of murder that didn’t do it, he becomes relentless in proving he’s right, and he usually is right. He gets no help with police info for his investigation, but he’s resourceful and has some ins with the mob and gangs which adds another facet to this well written book. All makes great reading! Get this book, it’s a must read!
Although CJ only reluctantly accepts working for the DA on the murder of a cop, once he believes the accused is innocent he works tirelessly to find the actual killer. The attitude of the police and their treatment of CJ is totally unacceptable. Fast paced and overcoming dangerous situations along with the social aspects of CJ’s life keep this interesting.
A quick read but I found some of the actions a little unrealistic so found the story uneven in that respect but probably many would not care. Interesting lead character. I particularly liked the computer hacking parts.
I know that things like this book really happen. I will read it again another day.
C.T. never disappoints. This book like the others is a page turner from start to finish. I love how much I see C.T. growing from book to book. This is a must read!
This was my first Tom Fowler book & now i plan to read his others
Couldn’t put it down.
Wow! A great read.
Boring – little time to build characters and plor
Good
C T Ferguson is at odds with the whole police force, even his parents in this gripping plot. One person tells him, that it couldn’t be the one everyone is thinking of as guilty. How he uncovers will captivate you to the end.
