A fab little read featuring a mature older couple, with was a delight to read about for a change! Titus and Sunny have a history and their kids are married to each other, so there’s no real way of escaping them being together, even though they both fight the natural chemistry they have.
Both Titus and Sunny have bad histories with previous relationships and they both deal in different ways – Sunny is a runner who packs up and leaves when the going gets tough and Titus fights his attraction to the human woman as his loyalty is to his pack alone after his failed mating with a human previously.
Sunny is a quirky character, arty, a free spirit, fun loving and caring character, even who meets her loves her and she travels around making and selling things with just enough money to get by. She has a special gift and can see people’s spirit animals. Titus is a wolf shifter sent on a mission by his Alpha to check out some labs that are experimenting on shifters, and bumps into Sunny by chance. Titus and his wolf are drawn to Sunny in ways he has never experienced before, even with his previous mate, but is loathe to get mixed up with a human again. Sunny get all hot and bothered whenever Titus is around but knows he is not looking for a serious relationship with her and doesn’t want to risk her heart.
A fab little read, full of lust, emotions, hot sexual chemistry and suspense.
This one made me happy on so many levels. First you have Titus; the grumpy, standoffish father of Tank. He’s gruff, stern, and slightly standoffish. Then you have Sunny; the hippy, fun-loving mother of Foxfire. They are complete opposites, yet the pull between them is undeniable. The interactions between them will bring a smile to your face and heat up your ladybits.
Now on to why I loved this one so much. Sunny and Titus are both in their 50s. That right there was a huge draw to me because I’m almost there… The baggage they bring from past hurts is honest and believable. The way that Sunny tries to stay cheerful and lives her life for herself is who I aspire to be. She is past her childbearing years, but not old enough to want to sit back and relax. She is independent, strong, trusts her gut, is willing to accept herself and all those around her, and tries to make the world a better place for those she loves while being content in her place. Titus is protective, has a desire to solve problems, doesn’t take a lot of crap, but is not quite as sure of himself and his role in the world. The character development is completely different when writing older characters than it is writing younger ones, and these characters are totally believable. Most romance novels have characters that are both broken and strong, but I feel like the men do a lot of the “repairing the damaged female” in a lot of them. This one felt different to me. Sunny isn’t weak even with her past hurts. She seems stronger than Titus in some ways. It is almost like she is fixing him more than he is fixing her.
Another reason I loved this one so much is the passion between them and the fact that they are so open about it. There were so many scenes where they don’t hide their attraction and affection, even if it makes those around them slightly uncomfortable, and those moments spoke to me. I love the fact that this story shows that those things don’t fade away no matter how old you are.
Then you have the fact that this is still a continuation of the overall plot that has been woven throughout this series. There is still danger, people to save, people to destroy, and secrets to be revealed. The characters from past stories continue to show up in some way so we still get to enjoy them and the lives they are living now.
This is an amazing addition to this sexy series. The writing is flawless, as always, the sexy scenes will heat you right up, and the HEA will melt your heart. If you haven’t started this series, I ask you what are you waiting for? It’s a must read for all shifter lovers! And while the stories are stand alones to a point, I recommend reading them in order to get the full enjoyment out of this world that has been created by two of the best romance authors out there.
I loved that both main characters are in their fifties! This was one steamy story.
Sunny is the Mom to Foxfire, a pacifist, hippie and artist. Titus is Dad to Tank, a biker and a by the book pack member. His Alpha sends him to Arizona to hunt down another Data-X lab. He bumps into Sunny and they get “busy”. She is afraid to fall for him because she has been hurt by previous relationships. He fights with his wolf to keep his attraction to her casual while the wolf wants him to mate Sunny. She gets into a car accident and he sticks around to help her. They find the lab but it has already been destroyed. Titus works with the local wolf alpha to relocate the survivors from the lab. When Titus gets back to his pack he has to decide if it is more important than Sunny- he makes the right choice and they get their HEA.
You are my sunshine, my only Sunny
Sunny and Titus might be older, hot, sexy and incredibly sexually compatible, but not necessarily smarter.
Both have been hurt and betrayed in the past and each deals with it in different ways.
But denial and running from your problems only create more in the long run.
Sunny is bright, happy, zen, nomadic and sensual. Titus is gruff, skeptical, torn and a shifter fighting his urge to claim and mate.
Their paths have crossed, diverged and meet again, and joined by a family marriage they are bound no matter how they fight it.
Secrets are revealed, issues addressed, life changing decisions made and trust and hearts torn. But when love is finally acknowledged, nothing will keep them apart.
I have loved this series and will be sorry to see it end, but I’m sure something sexy and fantastic is coming from these two great authors!
Ain’t No Sunshine When She’s Gone…
“Alpha’s Sun” is the story of Foxfire’s mother Sunny and Tank’s Father Titus, a fifty something couple with history. “Alpha’s Challenge” featured Foxfire and Tank’s story as well as an introduction to Sunny and Titus’s characters. A chance meeting in Taos sends sparks flying between the quirky human and wolf shifter, proving you are never too old for lust and love. Sunny is an endearing character with her quirky ways as well as vagabond life style, approaching everyone with love, light and a bright sunny smile. Titus is a big, brawny, dominant wolf shifter with a painful past and a pack leader who scorns mating with humans. Burned by his first mate, Titus is broody, a man of few words and suffers from trust as well as commitment issues.
Professionally written, fast-paced and highly engaging, the story-line flows seamlessly with witty dialogue, a generous helping of drama and plenty of steamy between the sheets action. Foxfire and Tank make brief appearances as well as other mixed shifter characters from previous entries. New paramilitary shifter characters are introduced and will be the recipients of a new spinoff series. Additionally, another top-secret spinoff series is in the making, teasing fans of the original series. As with the other novels in this series, “Alpha’s Sun” is a standalone story, portrayed in dual POV and includes a welcomed epilogue.
“Alpha’s Sun” is a highly entertaining completion to a great series, with a promise of two exciting new spinoffs in the future.

Renee Rose and Lee Savino’s “Alpha’s Sun” reintroduces us to Sunny and Titus (Foxfire’s mom and Tank’s dad) and it will bring a smile to your face. Sunny comes across as super flighty when the reality (and why) is quite the opposite. Titus has a palpable level of frustration dealing with her (yes, dealing) coupled with his growing feelings, which he shouldn’t have since she’s human. Likes: It makes me so happy when I get to read about older characters having very sexually liberating lives. Sooo, good. And Sunny is hilarious with her mixed metaphors and nickname for a particular body part of Titus’s. It’s one of those nicknames that will have you snorting out whatever liquid you’ve just taken a sip of. Their chemistry is fantastic. The story also picks up a thread of the series story arc and introduces us to some special ops guys that I really hope we see more of in the future. If you like your paranormal romances with dash of brash, touch of flighty, and a whole lot of romance, then you’ll enjoy this read.
Serious Alpha Wolf and Crafty Yoga-Teaching Human – Can it Work??
Sunny and Titus are actually parents of the main characters of the last book in this series. Sunny is mom to Foxfire and Titus is dad to Tank. When pack business has Titus running into Sunny, he can’t walk away. Both these characters have heartbreak in their past – can they find common ground?
Love this relationship, these characters and the entire series!! I highly recommend this story!!
*** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book ***
Wonderful love story! Sunny and Titus might be over fifty but their love is just as vibrant and beautiful as that of a younger couple. It’s a chance to find the happiness that eluded them in past relationships. For Sunny, it means trusting that Titus won’t discard her down the road. For Titus, it’s letting his heart place the woman he loves above his pack. This warm and engaging romance written by the superb team of Renee Rose and Lee Savino touched my heart. I loved it.
I am voluntarily reviewing an advance reader copy of this book.
I love that this book is about an older couple! You don’t see these as often as younger couples in books. And the way it was written was so well done. Sunny and Titus were also super HAWT together. The sex scenes were very steamy and just goes to show that just because you age doesn’t mean you don’t still have a libido! Lol
I loved Sunny’s character so much. She was such a genuinely happy person who looked on the bright side of things. And she wasn’t afraid to be herself. Whether people liked it or not.
Titus was also super alpha, and protective. So afraid to open up because of being hurt before by his ex. But he also can’t stop himself from falling for Sunny. This was a great read. And I can’t wait to see what’s next in the spin off series. Because this series hasn’t once disappointed me! So I know whatever comes next will be just as good!
OK, I admit it…How great to have a H/h that are my age!!! And they are both hot, sexy, and just cool. Tutus and Sunny are madly attracted to each other but he can’t commit because of that whole shifter thing and an awful ex. Sunny is a free spirited, hippy type who knows more than he thinks. I love the push and pull between these two. Hard to see this series end, but I know Renee and Lee won’t leave us wanting for long.
****I received an ARC and this is my honest review****
I’m really not a fan of flower power and hippies, but Sunny captured my heart from the first meeting on! She’s independent and strong willed. Titus is like a big old teddy bear with Sunny! I liked seeing how vulnerable Sunny became once she admitted to being in love. I admired Titus for the tough decision he made to leave the pack again. I look forward to the next storyline spinoffs to come.
Titus and Sunny meet each other once again and let me tell you they are older characters but smokin hotness in just one look and they are melting for each other after they get over their denial haha. I loved Sunny she was so much fun and just went with the hippie flow to drive this hot shifter Titus crazy and not to mention yoga scene was awesome now only one female could have made that happen. Lots of feelings going on, pride is on the line and big decisions to be made and I loved every word. I smiled hard at the end thinking what their kids were witnessing, really so so good.
Fun, irreverent, sizzling add to the series – Hail Spartacus! While Titus would cringe at the thought of me calling him cuddly, I think Sunny would approve. What I love about these authors is how they humanize and normalize the paranormal, making the unrealistic seem somehow possible. Every time I read a new release in the series, I want to start at the beginning just to reconnect with past characters who have become ingrained in my imagination. Looking forward to more!
This is, sadly, the last of the Data-X stories. And unfortunately it feels a bit rushed.
Two people, in-law-linked through their children, have a more than familial connection. Whenever they get together there’s a heatwave in the room. The problem is, one is a wolf-shifter and the other human, although with certain attributes…!? And humans are not supposed to know shifters exist. Both are scarred from former relationships, so you can imagine how that works! They can’t keep their hands off each other, and they don’t, but then they run. In different directions!
Until a serendipitous reunion. And this time things come to a head!
Will they get their HEA?
Guess!
I’m glad Sunny and Titus got their story. Sunny is such a great character. She is sensitive, sweet, a little bizarre and funny. I’m glad Titus was not as old school as I thought he would be. He could appreciate Sunny’s dynamic personality.
I was also glad they were a more mature couple. It seems like more mature couples are often relegated to the role of grandparents with no lives. It makes me think is this all we have to look forward to as we get older? The so called “silver” romances give me hope for the future.
Titus and Sunny definitely had a rather intense romantic and sexual life. Sunny also accepted who Titus was with no problem.
The book also leaves you with the idea of more to come. Especially after encountering Rafe and his group. This was a short, sweet, sexy romance with a HFN, if not a HEA.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy.
I am so totally in love with Titus and Sunny. Sunny is just over the top, she’s a free spirit who still wants the house and the white picket fence. Titus is afraid to love or to trust a woman especially a human and he’s falling hard for Sunny. There’s a little laughter, over the top sex and a little Adventure along the way to the discovery of their feelings for each other. I really hope there are more books coming with all of these characters in it because I just love them all.
Loved Titus and Sunny and they now get their own book. Amazing story that was beautifully written with steam that’ll keep you hooked. What a lethal combination these two authors are together. Can’t wait for the next book.
Delightful shifter romance for the older set!
Sunny and Titus are both in their 50s; her daughter is married to his son. Their chemistry is off the charts hot, and when Titus runs into her in Taos while on pack business, they just can’t keep their hands off each other. There’s a bit of angst in store for this couple, as she has no clue about the existence of shifters and he knows his alpha’s rules don’t allow any mating with humans.
The action never lets up in this captivating story, and it perfectly ties up a few story threads from earlier books in this series. I loved that the romance focused on older characters, and Sunny is a terrific character who brings a wonderful balance to Titus’s life. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
What a fun read! I have never read a book with mature main characters. I really appreciate the way Lee and Renee showed that just because there’s gray hair, it doesn’t mean that your sex life is over. There was plenty of witty repartee between Sunny and Titus that had me laughing out loud.
Congratulations, Lee and Renee, for writing a book that has chemistry, drama, laughter and a lot of steam. I highly recommend reading Alpha’s Sun.
Finally, an alpha over the age of fifty and Titus is a prime example of a silver Alpha. Loved the story of Titus and Sunny and everything they go thru to finally admit the love they share, even when it goes against pack rules. Also the continued search for secret experimental facilities that are hurting the shifter community. This time the facility has already been destroyed and shifters rescued. There is a HEA for them but the search for imprisoned shifters continues. This is another great read of the Alpha series and I would highly recommend it, you will not be disappointed.
