To hell and back . . .Though he has vampire, demon, and Viking blood rushing through his veins, Ivar Kjeidsen’s soul-crushing trip to hell broke him in ways he can barely fathom. One vow keeps the deadly immortal standing: To rescue the vampire brother who had sacrificed freedom for him. To do that, Ivar needs the help of a brilliant physicist with wary brown eyes, fierce brilliance, and skin … brilliance, and skin that’s way too soft.
Dr. Promise Williams understands the underpinnings of the universe but has never figured out the human beings inhabiting it. Her function is to think—and not feel—until she’s touched by a vampire who’s nowhere near human. The primal hunger in his eyes awakens feelings in her that defy calculation. As she shows him the way to step between worlds, he brands her with a pleasure that could last more than a lifetime . . .

OMGoodness! I think Ivar and Promise are my new favorite DP couple. I mean, Ivar with his “Grunt. I am man. Listen to me. Grunt!” and Promise with her , “*eyeroll* Whatever”, then goes back to her white boards and mathematical equations. They are so deliciously perfect for each other!
The danger continues to grow. Will they be able to save Quade while keeping Ulrich locked away? Or will it all come crashing down, possibly destroying the world in the process? I can’t wait to find out!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or remuneration.
I again love this book and this series. I love how Ivar falls for such a smart woman. It’s really great to see him so impressed and happy to watch her mind work. One bad guy dies in this book but you know there are always more. We see more of Quade in this book though things are not looking good. We meet a new female who has had a rough life. This series just sucks me into the book that I don’t want to put the book down. I can’t wait for the next one.

I have said this before and I will continue to say it, Rebecca Zanetti, is the FREAKING BOMB!!!! I adore all of her books but none as much as, her Dark Protectors series!!!! I simply cannot get enough of these men. In this story we have the Ivar Kjeidsen or Viking, or Vike, Lol. He is known by all names and my heart truly felt for him. He has recently made it back from an endless loop of hell realms, with the help of Logan and is not the same as before he went in. We meet Dr. Promise Williams a theoretical physicist and a genius! She was wonderfully adorable and I felt a strong kinship to her on so many levels. She is also an Enhanced female and therefore a possible mate for one of them. He believes, well they all believe that she is the key in trying to decipher where to time jump back into the hell realm where another member of their Seven is stuck in. Promise has no idea what they are talking about and think they are a bunch of crazies. In her estimate it would take centuries to teleport, much less to a specific time. Well, she was in for surprise, Lol. It would really take me to long, to list everything that I loved about these characters, so I am going to tell you that this story rocks as all of her Dark Protectors do and I loved the honor and promise that Ivar made to Quade, to get him out. Unfortunately, it is not as easy as it seems. Promise and Ivar do fall in love, mate and get their HEA. Filled with all of our lovable cast and some sneak peeks of the children made for an awesome read! I cannot wait for the next book!!! Hurry please as I am not sure if it will be Grace and Adare’s or Quade and Haven? And what will happen to our bad guy, Ulric? But most important of all BENJAMIN “BENNY” REESE!!! I could not stop laughing, he is the BEST and I need his book, like ASAP! Lol.
5 MERCY LOVING, PROMISE TO BE FULFILLED, IVAR THE VIKING, LOVED IT TO PIECES STARS*****
***I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book provided by NetGalley*****
Ivar tried to kidnap Promise. Not his best decision. Promise defended herself and prevented her attempted kidnapping and in the process earned Ivar’s respect for her fast thinking. That respect and admiration only increased as Promise agreed to help Ivar and the others try to save the last member of the Seven. There were several bumps along the way, but Promise did help Ivar find a way back to Quade. The question remained; however, if Ivar and Quade could make it back home.
Alpha’s Promise is Ivar’s turn in the spotlight! The Viking seeks to find a way to acclimate to life on Earth after being trapped in the bubble world for untold years to keep Ulric imprisoned. When he is dumped back into our timeline, he is badly hurt after traveling through loops in so many hell worlds he lost count, and he is definitely lacking social skills after so much time alone. He is sent to observe a beautiful physics professor whose knowledge may be the key to freeing the last remaining member of the Seven and destroying Ulric once and for all. What could possibly go wrong?
Promise is not really very well equipped to handle social situations either. She is basically the female equivalent of Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory, and she may be even more socially awkward thanks to parents who placed a premium on education over emotional interaction. I have to admit, I found it very difficult to connect with her or even really like her for most of the story and that was a struggle for me.
Fortunately there was plenty of action to go around as the Seven grapple with the fact that their existence has been revealed to leaders of the Realm and the Kurjans attack and infiltrate from unexpected sources. Promise does actually make strides in her work and her relationship skills as they go along, and Ivar finds himself slowly returning to life in every way that matters. He did have some deliciously alpha sexy moments, but his unwavering loyalty and commitment to freeing Quade suddenly comes into question for him as he realizes he may have another reason for living now.
Alpha’s Promise was not my favorite of the series so far but it was still a great read with some advancement of the overarching storyline and interaction with plenty of familiar faces from the Dark Protectors world.
ARC received via NetGalley
I loved Alpha’s Promise. Can a book leave you hanging without being a cliffhanger? I can’t wait for the next Dark Protector book.
This is book 10 in the Dark Protector’s series and you absolutely have to read the previous books (or at least the last 2 for sure) in order to understand the larger story ARC that is going on. This one is about Ivar Kjeidsen and Promise Williams. Ivar is trying to keep his vow to go and rescue his brother after he saved him from the hell realm he was stuck in. In order to do that he needs the help of a physicist. Promise is one of the top physicist’s but Ivar and the Seven are not the only people looking to figure out how to get to the prison of the hell realm’s. Now it’s a race to not only keep her safe but to get to his brother before it’s too late.
I absolutely loved this one! Promise is one of those people where numbers and science make more sense to her than people and relationships. She doesn’t always understand societal norms or how to even hold conversations with people. But I loved that about her! It makes her completely unique and different enough that you can’t help but love her. Ivar has literally been through hell and is just trying to work his way back to not only sanity but what he believes is the right thing to do. Even at the expense of what could possibly be his one chance at happiness. And I absolutely loved that about him! I love that he isn’t this perfect male with everything in his life completely together. And they just mesh together in a way that I loved. I couldn’t put it down once I started it! And let me just say that I can’t wait for the next one, after certain things happen I am not completely curious about a couple of characters stories!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I loved Ivar and Promise’s story. This book was a great addition to the Dark Protector’s series. Promise and Ivar’s relationship started out practical and logical then Ivar’s over the to alpha tendencies came into play and the rest was history. I loved that they looked at the mating as a business transaction and eventually fell in love. As per every book, their mating was explosive and off the charts as were Ivar’s protectiveness when it came to his mate. We also got a visit from some out our past favorite realm characters.
As far as the 7’s story line goes- this book picked up right where we left off in the last book. We learn more about the other dimensions/worlds and also their is a surprise future character we meet. I cannot wait for that book!!
This was a great book. The story line is extremely engaging and the characters are great.
Writing style takes a little getting use to but great books
