BENDING HER TO THE BEAR’S WILLThe human thinks I’m stalking her. Maybe I am. But I’m not the only one. There’s something evil in these woods and it preys on single women.I’m not about to let the sexy scientist fall into its lair. Even if that means holding her prisoner in my cabin.Keeping her where I can see her at all times. Bending her to my bear’s will. Just until the storm passes. Until her …
Just until the storm passes. Until her research is finished.
Then I’ll let her go.
I swear.
Publisher’s Note: Alpha’s Prey is a stand-alone book in the Bad Boy Alpha’s series. HEA guaranteed, no cheating. This book contains a grouchy, manly bear with a penchant for protecting and dominating his female. If such material offends you, do not buy this book.

A murder of a family, a man lost in sorrow because no one believes him. A stubborn woman who shows no fear, a snow storm, lots of romancing, a crazed man who thinks he is a scientist, kidnappings and more will keep you reading. This was an arc fro the author and my honest opinion
I love, love, love, love this series. Caleb is a man dealing with guilt, loss and a protective streak a mile wide. Miranda is one of my two favorite heroines in this series, Foxfire is the other. She’s intelligent, observant, kind and quirky. I loved her running commentary about the male of the species. The sex level is off the charts hot as hell! Consider yourself forewarned, but in the best possible way, cause ice cold water, AC and a companion while and/or after reading is recommended. I voluntarily read this book as an ARC reviewer and highly recommend it.
Let me start by stating that I have read and loved all the books in this series. While Caleb and Miranda may be an unlikely pair, I think their story might be my most favorite. The story-line is simple and straight-forward. I felt sympathy for Caleb’s loss and could relate to Miranda’s feelings. Of course I loved Bear! Like I said, this is a wonderful read.
*I received an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing*
Having read all of the books in this series by the authors’, I knew that I was going to get a good, enjoyable read, which I did. However, I wasn’t expecting the relationship between Caleb & Miranda to be such fun. It was a delight to read & I could have happily read more. Loved it!
Explosive Chemistry!
The unparalleled writing duo of Renee Rose and Lee Savino have once again exceeded all my expectations. Combining elements of action, intrigue and explosive chemistry “Alpha’s Prey” provides a well-rounded narrative that readers can really sink their teeth into. Professionally written, extremely fast paced and totally engaging, the plot captures reader’s interest through multifaceted characterizations, heartwarming romance, humor, intense heat, suspense and a compelling overarching theme. With a dominant yet vulnerable hero and an intelligent, yet quirky heroine “Alpha’s Prey” evokes a multitude of emotions, ultimately satisfying the readers need to connect with the characters as well as the story line. Although part of a series “Alpha’s Prey” reads as complete, standalone novel with dual POV.

Caleb is a heartbroken bear shifter who has for all intents and purposes, cut himself off from the world, but something sparks to life in him when he rescues Miranda from freezing to death in a snowstorm. Snowbound together in his cabin for the duration of the storm, things really heat up between them. Is Caleb finally ready to move on?
Not only is this a sexy, hot romance, there’s also some mystery and suspense. The plot is great and although it loosely ties to previous books in the series, it’s not necessary to ready any of the other books to enjoy this one. I would highly recommend it though because this is a super awesome series! I loved this story and I loved these characters. I couldn’t put this book down.
I am voluntarily reviewing an advance reader copy of this book.
Caleb was one smoking hot bear. I really just wanted to hug him,all the pain that he suffered. Miranda was an excellent leading lady. The chemistry between the main characters was explosive I really enjoyed this book. One of the best book in the series.
When a bear comes out of his grief stricken emotional hibernation – a certain red headed goddess should watch out – but then again he makes her feel as well.
Ohhhhh i really loved this book. The way that Caleb has grieved for his mate and child touches my heart and made me cry and the way that Miranda manages to coax this massive bear of a man (sorry couldn’t help myself) back to the land of the living is truly scorching and inspirational!
I loved this book from start to finish….and now I have a glimpse of Alpha’s Blood that’s the next book – oh I can’t wait!
I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book
This might be my favorite I loved this couple and Caleb even though he is such a grumpy bear and shows it a lot but of boy when he meets Miranda its a whole different ballgame. I loved loved her character, her smarts and attitude with her sassy smart comments had me laughing you go girl. She was such a unique character and finding herself in that was so great to read and accepting herself with the help of research from Caleb and the hot kind if you know what I mean. I loved this series.
What do a human ecologist and a grumpy bear have in common? On the surface nothing but when Miranda always finds herself in near death situations Caleb can’t help but go all alpha bear on her to protect her from herself even. Add a blizzard when there wasn’t supposed to be anything and a “madman” kidnapping women and you have a perfect story. Miranda dares Caleb to show her how a real man satisfies a woman and she isn’t prepared for him and what he does to her heart. I loved how things progressed in this story it can be read as a true standalone with only a brief mention of characters from previous books. I can’t wait to see what these authors have in store for us with the next installment of this series!!!
This was a fabulous shifter read, totally enjoyable story line, fantastic characters – it was fun, sexy, swoony, hot and with a touch of drama, I really didn’t want it to end!!
Caleb is a bear shifter who lives in the woods, he is grieving for the loss of his wife and child who were killed by a ‘feral bear’ 3 years ago, so much so he nearly lost himself to his bear and is barely clinging on to his humanity. There have been some recent disappearances in the woods of single women and he thinks these are connected to his wife’s murder, and so is always on the lookout.
Miranda is an ecologist studying the trees, and is on her way to the cabin in the woods, not far from Caleb, who sees her arrive on her own apart from the dog she has with her. He is concerned for her safety and vows to keep an eye on her. There is a bad storm on the way and she shouldn’t be in the woods on her own!
I loved the story line and the dialogue between these two, Caleb can’t remember how to socialise properly with Miranda when they first meet as its been that long since he interacted with humans. He’s grumpy and he grunts and only speaks when necessary. Miranda has these little conversations with herself like she’s narrating a wildlife program, between this and his grunting I was really chuckling. I loved how you get both POV’s in a chapter, it really brings the story line along. Miranda also has a slight obsession with trivia and I found that to be really engaging!
Of course there are some really hot steamy scenes in here, its dirty and raw and animalistic with a hint of BDSM in there that worked really well with Caleb’s very domineering Alpha personality. But there are also plenty of parts where Caleb shows his vulnerability and anguish and losing his wife and child and Miranda being the loving and caring soul she is helps him with his grief.
All in all a fabulous read, the first bear shifter book I’ve read, loved it, I really need to read more of this series, the authors did a fantastic job of this one.
I received this book as an advanced reading copy, and I would like to give my honest opinion of what I read.
I loved this story, Two people each broken in their own way are able to reach each other. One that has given up on love thinking that people only used them. The other was broken from the loss that could never be replaced. Twice Miranda gets herself in a position that her life is in danger through not thinking things through. The third time she is kidnapped by the stalker that is in the wood that has already taken several women.
Wow, what at story. It completely had me drawn in. Caleb who a bear shifter has spent the last three years suffering terribly from the lose of his mate and child. The first year he almost looses himself to his bear. But a pack of wolves came for him and instead of putting him down their Alpha was strong enough that when he told Caleb to shift he did. They took him back to his cabin and stayed with him for quiet a while and each time he tried to shift they would stop him. He slowly gets his humanity back again. Then it brings us to present day and he sees a lone woman travel up to the research lab by herself. He decides that since the evil is still around he has the responsibility to watch after her. He can smell the evil scent in the air that was around his mate and child’s torn bodies. He knows that it is the kidnapper but he can not place what it is or where it is staying at.
The first day that Miranda is out collecting core samples from the trees and she looses track of time. Before she set out that morning the skies were clear but she could see a storm brewing in the distance. She gets caught out in the storm. The storm with its wind and snow quickly turning into a blizzard she gets disorientated. Her dog Bear stars barking furiously when after hours of running in circles she stops to rest for just a minute. Big mistake she is succumbing to hypothermia.
Caleb opens his back door to look at the snow fall, he hears in the distance the dog barking. He goes to the rescue and finds her slumped down against the tree eyes open in deep hypothermia. He gathers her up with her dog in tow back to his cabin and begins the process of saving her life. As he is doing this and they are both snowed in his cabin not only has he saved her life but though he does not realized it yet but she is saving his.
In the end will he be able to save her from her kidnapper in time? Will she accept the fact that he is a bear shifter? Will she finally find out that love and trust of the opposite sex is something that is real and for her.
An awesome alpha and an amazing woman
Alpha’s Prey by Renee’ Rose and Lee Savino is a well written paranormal romance. I really enjoyed this book! These authors have created two really wonderful characters. I adore Miranda. She is sexy with lots of curves and super smart, but sweet and humble too. Caleb is the ultimate bad boy alpha, all growl-y in his anti-social behaviors. These two come together and compliment each other, save each other.
This book also has a great plot, a little suspense and mystery to solve.
Overall, a well written book that I really enjoyed a great deal. It has increased my interest in the other shift books in their list of titles.
I read an ARC of this book and I voluntarily share my review.
I really love the shifter world that Renee Rose and Lee Savino have created here. It’s a lot of fun, but it’s also kinda scary in places, and definitely sexy in all the right places.
Caleb is a brown bear who has been not just hibernating through the winter, but really hibernating through the last 3 years, since his mate and child were killed by some unknown creature.
Miranda is an ecologist who is tired of being treated as lesser just because of the genitals she happens to have between her legs. She’s much rather be judged by what’s in between her ears. But no one she works with is going to do that.
I actually thought that Caleb and Miranda were the perfect couple. And it’s not just the bear shifter who lives in the woods meets a lady ecologist, although I love that irony. No, it’s definitely more than that. It’s about how well they complement each other. It’s also about how they wake each other up from the sleepwalking state that each of them are in. For different reasons and in different ways, but they are both just sleepwalking through the world. And not just that, but they both totally accepted the other in a very sweet way.
Oh my! Oh my! This story is what dreams are made of! Have you ever dreamed about being stranded in a remote cabin with the Alpha of your dreams??? If, so you MUST read this story. Renee Rose and Lee Savino are amazing authors who can make our dreams come true in the most amazing, warm and magical way. This is the next story in their Bad Boy Alpha Series and it does NOT disappoint! The chemistry between Caleb and Miranda is HOT and electric. We have this BIG, Bear shifter, Caleb who has lost his wife and child, is lost, angry and has become a recluse. Then, there is Miranda, a smart scientist who gets little respect from her colleagues who show more interest in her “girls” then her academic achievements. She is curvy and considers herself on the “large size”. Caleb considers her on the perfect size and respects her intelligence. Also, there is a mysterious force in the area which is threatening to women. As Miranda conducts her experiments, she gets into trouble and Caleb rescues her and her dog which is named Bear – the authors have a sense of humor. Read this story to see what happens when they are stranded in his cabin for days. LOL
The story is easy to read, well paced and engaging. Romance blooms, we see the characters work through their fears of trust and other issues. The sex scenes are HOT, there is mystery, suspense and I found myself laughing and close to tears during the story. Now, it’s your turn to pick up the book and find the romance, laughter and tears that these authors envision.
This book was about Caleb and Miranda, with no other major characters. I remember Caleb from a previous book.
I enjoyed this book much more than the one with the vampires, it wasn’t nearly as dark. This was much more of a shifter romance. Miranda brought Caleb out of a dark place, and Caleb helped Miranda to appreciate her value.
You can read this book as a standalone, as there is some explanation about the missing women in the woods, Caleb’s family, and the suspect. I was surprised that the “conclusion” wasn’t played up more with Garrett being notified. Maybe I missed that part.
A lighter, steamy, easy to read shifter romance with a bit of action and suspense.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy.
Another fantastic book in the series! Miranda is a quirky, ecologist researching climate changes. Caleb is an anti-social hermit still grieving over the murders of his wife and daughter. He ends up saving her life multiple times. She gets stranded at his cabin after he saves her from hypothermia and they give in to their chemistry. He shows her how beautiful and intelligent she is and she helps him heal. They do get their HEA in the end.
I seriously LOVE this series! This is just another great book to add to it! I love that Caleb got his own story. And Miranda is a great match. She is a big, sassy, smart, and beautiful woman who helps Caleb feel normal again. This is also a super steamy read! Woo I needed a fan while reading some of the scenes!
Overall a great read and I totally recommend!
Caleb and Miranda’s story was dramatic, suspenseful, exciting, humorous and emotional. The chemistry that burned between this pair was super steamy and their scenes were very spicy. I loved how these two opposites were just what the other needed. Miranda was brilliant and caring but frustrated because she is always treated a certain way because of her looks. This made her easy to sympathize with and feel for. Caleb’s past was truly heartbreaking. He had some very heavy baggage from it and it was wonderful to see Miranda help bring him back to the land of the living. So, so good! I’m already waiting for the next book.
Scintillating Bear-shifter tale – Love this series!!
Caleb is a bear-shifter whose mate and daughter were killed. He is still tracking the odd scent that was left at the rivers edge. He spends more time in bear form than man. Miranda is working on a research project in a remote area with her dog “Bear”. Her peers denigrate her work and her intelligence.
When Miranda is caught in a snowstorm, Caleb comes to the rescue. His gruff exterior hides a caring male who appreciates intellect and humor. When Caleb realizes Miranda has never had a fulfilling relationship, he works to show her what she’s been missing:
Love the relationship development, the character development and the highly entertaining read.
