One skinless I could handle. A pack of them? Not so much.
Still, I dive in to help when Luke inherits the role of alpha. Drawn into the werewolf world of backstabbing aggression, my goal is to keep my hands clean while hunting down the previous alpha’s murderer.
Instead, I end up at the center of a so-called game turned deadly serious. The Alpha’s Hunt will determine who calls the shots and how … the shots and how the pack is shaped in the future.
My role? I’m the bait.
The second book in USA Today bestselling author Aimee Easterling’s newest series will immerse you in a world of magic, danger, and romance.

There were many differences between Woelfin and werewolf and Honor was learning in the hard way. Politics, power fight, a strong alpha and the alphas’ heir were issues more important than the family bonds Honor had known all her life. When Luke had to face his pack, his duty and his family, hasty decisions were made, trust was questioned, and betrayal and deceit showed their ugly faces. Interesting the difficult situation the protagonists were dealing with. What to do? No easy answers when you have to choose between the pack or your mate or what’s best for your mate or your bond. Liked the action and the twists in the story. Strong characters, intriguing situations, interesting secondary characters, suspense, danger, violence, romance and passion.
“Alpha’s Hunt”, the second installment in the “Moon-Crossed Trilogy” by Aimee Easterling featuring Honor, a woelfin (a kind of shifter, which akin to selkies, needs a pelt to be able to shift) goes into the next round.
Seamlessly following the events of the first book, we follow Honor as she gets entangled into the werewolf-pack struggle and has to learn the differences between woelfins and werewolves the hard way. Honor’s and Luke’s relationship continues growing, and keep reminding us of Romeo & Juliet’s unforgettable story, with – happily! – a much better outcome.
A fast-paced and well-written story that incorporates intrigue, coercion, compulsion and even murder into the intrigue, keeping the reader fully investing in the tale, rooting for Honor to be able to survive until the very end, and impatiently waiting for the next installment in the series.
Aimee Easterling is without any doubt the most knowledgeable werewolf-writer, however this series proves that her writer-heart also beats for another shifter-species, as she brings to life the woelfin-nature page after page and makes Honor the quintessential under-woelfin
Alpha’s Hunt is the 2nd installment in Aimee Easterling’s Moon-Crossed Trology. It starts off with a bang and keeps on rolling! True to form, Ms. Easterling brings wolf lore to life in this lively rendition. The storyline is fast-paced and well written, filled with murder, cohersion, corruption, compulsion and intrigue. The Alpha’s Hunt is a dangerous game, one Honor will have to use everything in her to survive. The characters are well developed and engaging. Honor is a strong heroine, but is she strong enough to be the Sword Maiden? This book was truly an exciting adventure well worth reading!
A very entertaining book! Werewolves do what they do, trying to fight their way up the ladder to be alpha. A pack that really doesn’t work together. The leader was killed and his son, Luke was trying to be the alpha leader. Luke already had a girl friend, Honor and she wasn’t a werewolf but was a woelfin. All the feuding between this pack and the neighborhood pack was crazy and dangerous. Good reading.
Alpha’s Hunt is Book 2 in the Moon-Crossed Wolves series and it’s a page-turner! There are members of the pack who are covertly undermining the leadership. Their methods are vicious and efficient. Aimee Easterling keeps the suspense going as you try to figure out who is causing the trouble. Honor finds herself in many tense moments, but she rises to each new challenge with wisdom and bravery. There’s a little more romance and romantic tension between Honor and Luke. Luke’s role in both books has been a minor one compared to Honor’s and I would like to see more of him. Two things that I like about Aimee Easterling’s writing is her knowledge of biology and her emphasis on familial ties.
Note: You should probably read Moon Stalked first, although I found Book 1 more disturbing than entertaining.
Disclosure: I received an ARC and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Pack loyalties and supernatural romance. Oh yes, I am so there. My whole family is caught up in CORVID-19 insanity (two hospitalized for other reasons, who we cannot visit, and 1 tested positive and in quarantine though no overt symptoms so far). Thank God for good books. It’s what’s keeping all of us sane. Honor and Luke’s tale in Alpha’s Hunt (Moon-Crossed Wolves, Book 2) is a particularly good one, as I expected since the prior book (separately reviewed) was fabulous, and I can count on anything written by Aimee Easterling. Highly recommended for fun … and sanity saving.
ONE ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC TREAT!!!
Holy hell! Aimee brings it when she comes and she came out swinging with this action packed, hard hitting, pulse racing, heart pounding, adrenaline pumping, nerve racking, block busting bombshell, blasting this gem to life spectacularly. Anarchy, escapades and havoc run amuck, kicking this bad boy into a roaring tempest, blasting it into a tailspin with a phenomenal, life-altering denouement. Sparks fly as drama, intrigue, tension, secrets, turmoil, danger, mounting suspense and thrilling situations along with a boatload of chaos while dodging disaster, you have one mind-blowing masterpiece. Forging through the trials and tribulations, noting the astonishing twists and wicked turns, testing our characters in ways they could have never envisioned. The characters are complex and authentic with depth and traits that blend and flow smoothly transforming into genuinely relatable personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions creating a colorful backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Remarkable job Aimee, thanks for sharing this little treasure with us.
This is the second book in this series, and we mostly started where the last book ended. Honor is an interesting character, and I like how her species is a little different than her mate Luke’s. I find her family fascinating and fun, his family intriguing, and I’d like to get know them better; maybe in a spin-off series? In this one, Honor and Luke are struggling in many ways but there are so many unseen enemies, it’s hard to know who to trust. Speaking of trust, I was really surprised at the end; I was not expecting that. I can’t say much because I don’t want to spoil it. Anyway, I’m anxious to see what happens in the next book. You need to read this book and series if you like werewolves and paranormal romance. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
Honor is determined to find out who killed Luke’s father. It doesn’t take her long to realize that there are plots all around her, and that some members of the pack don’t want Luke as the Alpha. An Alpha’s Hunt will decide who takes over leadership, and whether she likes it or not, Honor is the bait that will determine the outcome of the Hunt.
Fascinating, and well written characters trying to save the pack, and finding themselves fighting for their lives. Action packed, exciting, and sexy shifter romance, with plenty of twists that kept me guessing. Fantastic book, I loved it!
I am voluntarily leaving an honest and non-incentivized review of this ARC.
Picking up the story where the first book left off, this book is nonstop action and adventure as Honor finds herself sucked into the middle of a werewolf pack power struggle. It all starts when Luke’s father shows up on the verge of death and passes the alpha role upon him. Determined to protect Honor and keep her nature a secret, Luke sends her away. But despite not understanding the ways of the skinless, Honor knows her place is at Luke’s side. What follows is a fast-paced story full of twists and turns as Honor and Luke try to protect each other from enemies both within the pack and from outside forces without knowing who is really on their side. It will take both werewolf and woelfin alike working together to make sure this pack survives. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book!
