A compelling read!
This is by far the darkest book in the series so far, which makes it difficult to read at times, while compelling to continue through the torture of emotional and physical pain.
Drew’s amazing writing skill and style places you inside the heads of the characters, resulting in you thinking their thoughts and feeling all of their emotions, from sadness, terror, emptiness and grief, to pure, pure love. I’m so glad I bought the box set so I can get stuck to the next book, Lost, right away. Highly recommended
This book tore at your heart and kept you on the edge-what a page turner, it was so good!!! I absolutely love this series!!
Alone is a great read- the story picks up with Sydney with her kidnapper. There is something happening on every other page. This story makes you feel the pain that Anthony, Colin and Sydney are going through. You have to read the book to understand.
Heart wrenching!!!
Book 4 in the Everett Gaming Series ripped my heart out. As difficult as book 1 of the series was, book 4 is much darker and more painful. Anthony, Sydney and Colin had just finished their first holiday season together which for lack of a better word was magical. Sydney’s healing was progressing nicely and they all were so close and happy. That happiness comes to an abrupt end when Sydney goes missing. When the boys find out She has been abducted and who abducted her, they are enraged but feel helpless. Her absence begins tearing them apart. Tensions are high and hurtful words said causing Anthony to leave their home and retreat within himself as he has done his entire life as an act of self preservation. Between the pain of Sydney being gone, being at odds with Colin and the scars from his past being ripped open again, Anthony does something so destructive that it just might threaten his entire future. When Blake finally finds Anthony, he is frightened when he sees the condition of his surrogate son. Anthony is in such a fragile state and he won’t allow anyone to touch him except for Colin when he finally returns home 3 days later, The two men hold on to each other for dear life. Colin has been a mess without Sydney and Anthony. Just having Anthony back under the same roof visibly relaxes him. After what feels like an eternity, they find where Sydney is and go to bring her home. What happens when they get there is something that traumatizes all of them emotionally while one of the threesome’s life hangs in the balance. Throughout the entire ordeal, Blake, Matt, Gina and Matt’s family stayed by their sides. Their solid support system plays a vital role in their healing. All the love between the threesome and the love that surrounds them will be what will help them move forward. As I said, this book is very emotional and disturbing but worth every tear I shed.
Colin, Sydney and Anthony have settled into a solid V relationship. Sydney has let her guard down even more. Trust and love has allowed them to gently push past her limits. Sydney loves having Gina for a friend and they enjoy having lunch and shopping together frequently. Meanwhile sadist Paul is still watching and waiting for the right time to destroy Colin Everett and Anthony Graves the golden boy! His chance finally comes up and he taunts Colin and Anthony. This is a really honest and brutal book that will have you turning page after page for the answers. I have really enjoyed this series it has a great storyline and the depth of the characters is outstanding. It’s been an emotional roller coaster.
This book tore my heart out. I received a reader copy of it and this is my freely given, honest review.
I knew when I started reading Alone that it was going to be a rough read. I told myself I was ready. I had tissues for crying, and I could get through it, no problem. Boy was I wrong. I thought I was prepared for the amount of emotions that would be pulled from me. I don’t think I have cried this much over a book, ever, in my life. This story was… heart-wrenching. Drew Sera is a master at making you feel the fear, the sorrow, the anger, and the grief that her characters go through within the pages of this book. I kept telling myself I needed to stop reading because I had to get up early for work. I was unable to put this book down until I reached the end. The ending… oh, god, it made my stomach drop. I don’t usually like cliff hangers in books, but Drew’s Everett Gaming Series seems to be the exception to that rule!
If you need an emotional read that will run you through the gamut of emotions, this series is a must read!
My favorite V is in shambles. The loss of Sydney is taking its toll. This book is gutwrenchingly fantastic! Drew Sera writes in a way that is so easy to read while at the same time so difficult. The feelings of the characters jump off the pages. I absolutely loved and hated this book, the turmoil that the characters go through is hard to digest, while they still trust in each other’s love to help them through. I can’t wait to read Lost and see if my V can find their rhythm again. Awesome job Drew!
This is the fourth book in the series. It is also the hardest book to read. Don’t get me wrong. It is a great book. You will be so emotionally invested and on a rollercoaster with your feelings that it will keep you reading the book until you finish. I can’t wait until the next book is released. Drew Sera is an amazing author. This is a must read!!
Excellent series.
Alone by Drew Sera is the fourth book in the Everett Gaming Series, an emotionally charged dark series.
This one is probably the one that has made me the most emotional to date. I’ve cried over Sydney being held prisoner by Paul. They sadistic things that Paul does to not only Sydney but Colin and Anthony absolutely breaks my heart. And it’s sad to know that there are people out there that are like that.
This story is about their survival. Sydney survives the endless games Paul is playing by keeping her trust in her Dom’s and keeping hope in her love of them. Anthony who doesn’t express his feelings well goes on a path of self destruction in order to ease his pain with Sydney being gone and watching her be hurt. Colin is hanging on by a thread as he watches not only Sidney’s pain but the pain that his better half Anthony is enduring.
I can only hope that in the next installment that Drew Sera can start to mend my heart that is broken for this special V couple.
