From the beginning to the end an amazing story written by Claudia. Alex and Hannah a from friends ,enemies and lovers. What a powerful way to involve into one another.
Almost Perfect by Claudia Burgoa was such a fun and charming story. An enemies to lovers of sorts romance, they are more than that, but it’s the best way to describe it. Alex Spearman as an Olympic medalist and adventure seeker. But when his life takes a drastic change, he needs to make some changes. Hannah is starting to find herself and the direction she wants to go. She knows Alex is not the man for her, but their chemistry is off the charts. But it can’t go more than one weekend, right?
I loved these characters so much. Hannah and Alex had some great banter. Alex is the guy who is cocky and determined, but we see a different side of him with Hannah. Hannah is not the trusting kind. But her communication with Alex may just be what she needs. Their journey was not easy, but it was theirs and I loved it!

Happy reading!
Holy hell, how did I miss in previous books that June’s best friend Hannah is Hannah Hades??
Anyway – Hannah and Alex.
(Side note: All of this author’s books take place in the same universe, so there is a lot of character overlap and “cameos” but the books are standalones outside the duets, which are labeled as duets so no surprise cliffhangers.)
Hannah is having a crisis. A lot of big things have hit her life and the latest one is the last straw. She needs a break to deal with herself and get her mental state, and life, back in order. She has been involved in a non-relationship with Alex, her best friend’s brother, for a couple years but they argue just as much as they sleep together and she has realized that’s not healthy. He wants to keep in contact, so she instructs him to communicate by written letter, expecting him to never follow through.
Alex has already survived a career-ending accident that completely changed the course of his life, and is even walking again after spending time as a paraplegic. He lets everyone believe his reputation of a partying playboy is accurate, even his family, because it’s easier than catching feelings. But he has discovered he has real feelings for Hannah. Their yearlong letter exchange adds a new layer to their relationship, one neither of them expected.
This book was amazing. We are introduced to the members of Hannah’s former band, the Sinners of Seattle, and I’m looking forward to reading their stories in the future. The depth of Alex and Hannah’s relationship is beautiful and I really love them together. There is so much about this book, but I don’t want to get spoilery.
This is the First time that I am reading and reviewing Claudia Burgoa and I loved her book. This is genuinely an honour that I am reviewing this author’s book. Hopefully, I can review many more books of hers.
The story is of Hannah and Alex who are frenemies with benefits who were not only on each other throats but they also had great chemistry But this is not how their individual story started. Hannah was a famous band member, who later on was teaching as a professor of the college. She has suffered a lot in the previous years from her Mother to her cheater boyfriend. Everything for her was very difficult.
Alex has also suffered a lot. He was a great skateboard racer who was already at the peak but then destiny happened, a major car accident and well, everything changes. Though he never needed sympathy and pity. He again restarted his story and stand on his own feet all over again.
Though they always fight when they talk still there was sizzling chemistry between them and they always end up doing that which they shouldn’t. But enough is enough Hannah has decided she will not do this anymore and first she has to find herself, heal herself from all the past incidences then only she’ll be able to move forward. She takes some steps for herself. She has decided to move away from everybody so that she can love herself all over again and Alex not only supported her but show her the right path and helped her.
I genuinely loved this book. This book tells us all about self-love and self-care. I loved Alex, the support he showed to Hannah was..just AMAZING! Quite motivating story.
I loved the plot and the storyline. The characters were amazing too. I really loved the character of Alex’s sister as well as Hannah’s best friend. (same person). The author did a great work by keeping light in between the chapters by a touch of sense of humour. Last but not least–
Keep yourself above everything.

ARC was generously provided for an honest review.
I really loved this book. Alex and Hannah are amazing characters.
Hannah’s past is complicated, so she doesn’t really believe in love and is skeptical of Alex’s intentions. The chemistry between them is palpable, but it takes a while for Hannah to realize that “just friends” won’t be enough for both of them.
I loved the story and the characters. I highly recommend the reading.
I received an ARC and I’m voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Pretty almost perfect.
Alex Spearman is physically and emotionally broken, but he hides it well. He was an athlete until a crash changed his trajectory.
Hannah is his sister’s best friend. They met two years ago and since then, it’s been a toxic push and pull of a hook up and then nothing more.
Until June’s wedding.
Told from dual POVs in past and present, we get all the complicated evolution of Alex and Hannah.
Highly recommend.
More than a story of frenemies is one of best friend sister to lovers, kind of slow burn. Alex is for Hannah like that piece of chocolate cake (it may be the flavor you like most), a sweet temptation that you can’t resist when you’re around. Hannah is Juni’s best friend, Alex’s sister and manager. The relationship between them is a come and go. It seems that both wants different things. However all they are looking for is their happily ever after. And on the way to that search they realized that although they are almost perfect, they are perfect together. This is a sweet and adorable story, somehow inspiring.
I have fallen in love with the way Claudia gives a special touch to her writing style. It is as if he captured his life experiences and his wisdom in every story she writes. AND I LOVE IT!!
I loved this book! I think Alex is now my new favorite of the Spearman’s. This was a very entertaining story with great characters. It was well-written and held my attention from the very beginning. This story makes you feel many emotions while reading it and then it’s hard to put down. I really enjoyed this story and would highly recommend it!
I loved Alex and Hannah as they were both damaged people to a certain extent, Alex due to the accident that changed what he thought he would be and Hannah with a family that loved her but one who would make her life misery. The fact that this book spans over quiet some time and is done so fluidly makes you really fall for Alex and Hannah as you really really get to know them and get where both are coming from and floved the letter writing. This is definitely a book you would want to read again.
We’ve met Hannah & Alex from their other family members in Claudia’s previous books. Both are battling personal demons which affect their personal lives. After having a short-lived memorable time together in Paris, they continue to bump into each other since Hannah is best friends with June, Alex’s sister. Coming from a messed up childhood, Hannah believes no one will ever truly love her. After a career-ending accident, Alex feels a little lost with his dream gone. As both try to figure out what to do with their lives and continue to dodge their meddling friends and family members, Alex realizes that all he needs is Hannah. Now he needs to show her that she needs him too.
I love seeing all the characters again from previous books! This was a great read and I think more enjoyable if you’ve read the others. Can’t wait for the next one!
I loved this frenemy to lovers trope, and I love it when a quirky or geeky women hook up with alpha-holes in general…and this book definitely has both those things going for it. I am not kidding, this book was everything. All the things—witty banter, humor, angst, emotions, and all of the steam. And the characters? OMG! Talk about opposites attract!! Alexander (Alex) Spearman is the brother of Jason, Jackson, and June, who were in other books. Alex is handsome, a billionaire, arrogant, impulsive, playboy, and an Olympic medalist and X-game sensation who thinks he is perfect. Hannah Hades-Bell is a college professor, journalist, and she hates Alex. According to Hannah, Alex is “Not quite perfect. Almost perfect.” Alex is smitten with the sassy, feisty and obstinate beautiful Hannah. She has a blatant disregard for his fame, but there’s one problem—she’s his sister June’s BFF and confidant—this shut him down completely! Alex and Hannah have a unique—I love to hate you relationship. They push and pull through the entire book making you question everything. They will fascinate you and frustrate you at the same time, but the banter was everything. The slow-building romance is packed with so much sexual tension. Their chemistry is off-the-charts. The one thing that is constant throughout the book is the message of the family is an important aspect for both Hannah and Alex. Hannah and Alex stole my heart! This book left me wonderfully content at its conclusion. Claudia Burgoa manages to weave humorous plotlines centered on romantic ideas with artfully developed main characters. The storyline is fluid, and it will pique your interest. Highly recommend this book. You won’t regret reading Almost Perfect!
3.5 stars
Claudia Burgoa is one of my favorite go to, one click authors. I loved the other books featuring the other Spearman’s and couldn’t wait for Alex and Hannah’s story. I have mixed feelings about their story. Overall Almost Perfect was just ok for me, not my favorite Claudia book, but i didnt want to stop reading it either. I felt the beginning was a little choppy and I was a little confused. I felt like I needed to read other books from other series to know who secondary characters were and things that happened to Hannah. I felt the secondary characters had a heavy presence in this book and the focus wasn’t just on Hannah and Alex. I loved Alex’s sister in her book, this one not so much and the others i just didnt know anything about, but felt I should have. I loved Alex from the start. He had his issues, but figured out his stuff pretty quick. He deserves a medal for putting up with Hannah. I did feel bad for him because I felt like his family supported him in a weird way, he always had to prove himself. I got a different vibe from them than I have gotten in other books and I didnt like it. I never fully connected with Hannah. I wanted to, so bad, because I felt for her, but I just found myself really frustrated with her. I am very happy with the end but hoped Alex and Hannah got their HEA sooner.
Almost Perfect by Claudia Burgoa is Hannah and Alex’s story. This is a standalone book and what a great read it is ! It’s a Frenemies to Lovers romance read. It’s not necessarily an enemies to lovers nor is it friends to lovers romance because Alex and Hannah don’t fall into one or the other category- they kind of fall into both which is the aptly titled Frenemies to Lovers trope.
Without giving anything away, it’s a sweet and beautiful story about two people who bicker and fight – who seem like they hate one another yet the chemistry and connection between them is sensational. There is this push/pull between them that will have you craving more. Hannah and Alex have, though, through different circumstances had some really difficult times and are still trying to deal with it. They dealt with it but it’s how they dealt with it that brings them back for round 2 and that 2nd chance romance. Will they get that HEA or was it too combustible?
This was such a beautiful, sizzling, complex, unique and very intriguing story that shows its how you deal with life’s challenges that will take you far. I enjoyed the plot, characters and feels that this story shines on.
My Rating: 4.5 stars ********

“I wish there wasn’t a tomorrow, and we could stay in this moment forever.”
WOW…Claudia Burgoa is a new-to-me author and she blew me away with this book. Alex is absolutely swoon worthy!!! I loved the whole frenemies to lovers aspect of Alex and Hannah’s story. I will definitely be picking up more of this author’s books, as I am loving her writing style.
Almost Perfect by Claudia Burgoa is an EPIC read that will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!
FIVE “I’d follow you to the end of the world” stars!
Almost Perfect is the first book in Claudia’s new Sinners of Seatle series. Though this is a standalone, and it can be enjoyed with no previous knowledge of Claudia’s other books and series, Alex and Hannah are characters that have appeared briefly in previous books.
This book gave me so many feels. Honestly, I couldn’t put it down. Alex and Hannah’s relationship pulled me in from the start, and I found myself devouring the words on the page. These two. They aren’t friends, and they aren’t enemies. And though the book is described as a frenemies to lovers story, I don’t think that really applies either. These two are so deep in an unconventional relationship that they can’t even see what they truly are.
With Almost Perfect, Claudia has carefully crafted a tale that not only focuses on finding your forever person, but also finding yourself. This story is emotional and heartwarming. Told through dual POV, Alex and Hannah’s relationship is partially built and analyzed through handwritten letters and Hannah’s magazine articles. The push and pull between these two creates the best sort of tension…and watching them fall further in love with one another? Sigh. Alex is funny, charming, impulsive, and surprisingly romantic. Hannah is quirky, nurturing, witty, and a little bit lost. I wanted her to get out of her head a bit and open her eyes to the possibilities in front of her. And for her to stop running.
I love that the Spearmans are such a loving family, but I also find them to be overbearing. I hate that they don’t really SEE Alex, but I love that Hannah does…even if she doesn’t realize it. And you know what? He sees her too. All of the broken pieces, dark spaces, and everything in between. And it is beautiful.
I am very much looking for forward to the rest of the books in this series!
Hannah has a past that she would like to forget but the after-effects still touch her life and her relationships as she trusts very few people and allows even fewer close enough to breach the walls she has built around her heart. Her best friend June is part of her inner circle and from her she meets her brother Alex who incites feelings from elation to despair and everything in between.
Alex is a former athlete who saw his promising career come to a premature end and he soon realized which people were in his life for who he is, and which people truly cared about him. He still struggles with the perception that those around him have of him and yearns to be seen for the man he truly is.
Hannah and Alex share a casual physical relationship, but misunderstandings cause a wedge that neither seems able to bridge. When Hannah decides to take a respite from her life and determine what and who she needs to be happy Alex acknowledges what she means to him. He is determined to convince her that she is perfect just the way she is and that if she trusts him with her heart, he will protect it with his life.
Loved these characters.
Look I’m going to be totally honest, this book took me a while to get into. I persevered though and genuinely got a feel for the characters.
It was a sad story, that had a few laughs and shows what can happen when things in your life don’t go according to plan.
The struggles by all the characters, the way their friendships were and how important it is to trust those close to you and let them in.
It was an ok story for me.
Almost Perfect is the latest romance novel from Claudia Burgoa and I could not put it down. This frenemies to lovers story was Alex and Hannah’s tale and you would have already met them from Claudia’s previous novels. While Hannah frustrated me in this novel, I absolutely loved Alex. He was as the title suggested almost perfect and was totally swoon worthy. Their story was one about finding yourself and these two had to go on their own journey before they found their way to each other. This slow burn romance was sweet, hilarious, and a bit angsty and will give you all the feels. I enjoyed it and would highly recommend it to all lovers of slow-burn romances.
I discovered Claudia Burgoa about a year ago and instantly fell in love with her writing style. I met the Spearman’s in Jackson’s story and loved June’s Christmas novella. I still need to read Jason’s story and his book as well as Hannah’s family’s series are moving to the top of my TBR.
The absolute best part of this book was the letters that Alex and Hannah sent to each other. You got to watch these two completely fall in love but also be taken by surprise by how their relationship had grown in the time that Hannah is away.
I love when authors cross over series, even when I haven’t read one of them. I want to know so much more about Hannah’s family. This book has opened the potential for other characters’ HEA and I’m hopeful that there will be so many more books coming.
