This is book 3 in the Written in the Stars series, a sci-fi romance novella series that can be read in any order but is more enjoyable when read in the order they’re written.

Alani has an alien mate by the name of Allister who she wasn’t sure if she wanted. However fate will not be denied. I had a great time with this couple the chemistry is instant. Flow of the storyline was great.

Allister is on a quest to find his fated mate with three other aliens who have felt their mates on Earth. They were born in a world where the females are extinct. Allister finds his mate the first day he’s on Earth. Alani doesn’t feel as if he would want her as she is curvy and Allister is gorgeous. The stories are very short and this one didn’t have any steam. Some action but still a sweet story. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The third book in the Written in the Stars series another great short story. Allister and Alani’s story kept me turning pages I was not putting it down until I had finished reading it. I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Zander, the self-proclaimed leader of the group, and the others with him had been born into a world that had no women after their women were killed long ago by rivals from the planet Qhozux. But convinced there must be someone out there for them, Zander researched until he located their fated mates on a planet called Earth. He and a few others each had a target and they came to Earth to find their female with whom they would mate for life. Zander reminded everyone they had a limited time to make contact with their female and return to the ship. Allister is on the shy side, unlike his crew mates, so this is more difficult for him to make a move.
Alani wasn’t looking for love or a relationship. She was fine with living on the tiny Hawaiian island and helping her grandmother, as least until Allister showed up to turn her world around. Will he convince her that her future is with him among the stars?
This was another cute story about the crew finding their mates. The Vauv’axians are so gentle with the women they love. Their conversations were adorable. The author’s descriptions gave a clear visual picture to the reader that made everything become real and visual. The dialog and interaction between the characters was well-done, humorous, and enjoyable. I loved the first two stories a bit more than this one. But the humor and the feelings exhibited by the characters will take the reader right along. I’m convinced that you will enjoy exploring the stars with this new alien group. So far, each one is an absolute “keeper”.
I found it an okay book. Could have used more backstory, like why Allister was on earth. What the threat was. Hopefully the next book has more info about the danger. I also feel Alani accepted everything quite fast, even though she had a tutu relying on her.
I’ll be willing to give the next book a shot.

The writing and editing of this very short story was clean, with few typos that I found in the ARC version of the manuscript. The world building was not great, being largely set on contemporary Earth. The characterization was not awesome, largely because this very short page count did not leave room for developing much character nuance. The development of the romantic relationship was very quick, and I the reader was not convinced that these two protagonists truly loved each other by the end of the story. Also, there were no on page sexy times in this sci-fi romance, which was a big strike against it, in my opinion. The plot and pacing was quick. There was low angst and fairly high stakes in this short story, which is typically one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel, but which I did not enjoy much in this case. The world building, characterization, and development of the romantic relationship rated three stars. The plot and pacing also rated three stars. The reason I gave this story a combined score of two stars was partially because of the lack of on page sexy times, but mostly because of the cliffhanger ending. I do not recommend this story to other readers largely because of the cliffhanger ending. I do not plan to read any other stories is this series, and I will not be buying a keeper copy of this story for myself.
