Um. Um. Um.Are you reading this?If you are, I need your help.I was at a party; I was running; I fell. And get this—this is the part you’ll never believe—I fell down a rabbit hole.Like Alice in those old books.Except in those books, there wasn’t blood everywhere. In those books, the characters weren’t all male, attractive, and interested in me.Forget everything you know about the Mad Hatter, the … everything you know about the Mad Hatter, the White Rabbit, the March Hare …
This isn’t Wonderland; this is Underland.
Violence, sex, drugs, and magic … that’s all there is in this place.
There’s me, Allison, and there are the men that want me, the enemies that hunt me, and the darkness that’s quickly rolling in.
And only I can stop it.
So if you’re reading this, will you help me?
Please. I just want to escape this place and go … home.
ALLISON’S ADVENTURES IN UNDERLAND (Book 1 of 3 in the “Harem of Hearts” series) — is a full-length reverse harem/new adult/dark romance novel, a gritty retelling of “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”. Don’t expect a children’s tale; these characters are nothing like their more innocent counterparts. This book contains: drugs, cursing, violence, sex … and love found in the darkest shadows.

What an incredible take on Alice In Wonderland. I couldn’t put this book down.
Phew! Holy spicy! I loved this retelling of Alice in Wonderland, and I loved how much more scary everything is! That ending had me downloading book 2 and 3 so fast! And don’t forget the spicy bits, cuz man oh man, they were good! So much fun to read!
Dang cliffhanger! I enjoyed reading this one. For some reason, I thought it was going to be just spice, but I’m really enjoying the story. There’s so much world-building and the characters have depth. I am having fun getting to know all the characters. I’m excited to see what happens next!
OH MY GAWD! I loved this book so much! C.M. Stunich Allison’s Adventures in Underland is phenomenal! Where can I find my own Tee & Dee!? So Allison crush is murdered before her eyes and follows the murderer and falls down the rabbit hole! Then the craziness begins. This is a darker, way hot version of Underland. The writing keeps you flipping from beginning to end. Since I’m on a RH kick at the moment this book fulfilled all my fantasies of how a Allison’s RH should be! I’m dying to know what happens next and hopping right into Allison and the Torrid Tea Party! Thank’s C.M. it will be another late night for me but totally worth it. I love your writing!
Enjoyable and entertaining read
Wow definitely not what I expected its the dark, sexy retelling of Alice in Wonderland I didn’t realize I wanted there is the absolute perfect mix of intrigue, action, dry humour, and but of sexual tension. It does end on a cliffhanger but I’m definitely interested to see what else is in store for this series.
LOVE. LOVE. LOVE THIS BOOK AND THE WHOLE SERIES! I can’t say that enough! I found it by chance and gave it a try and have been tearing through all of her books ever since! Every single one I can find!!! I’ve yet to find one where I don’t fall in love with the characters. I ‘d buy every one of her books if my hubby wouldn’t kill me. Maybe if I told him they stirred my imagination?
Sometimes a woman has to do weird things and has to be a little mad. I saw the cover of this book and didn’t even read the synopsis. I collect Alice in Wonderland editions and retellings and the cover alone was reason enough to want to have it. I was clearly not entirely aware of what I got myself into exactly, but surprisingly enough I really really enjoyed it a lot.
This book is the definition of a guilty pleasure. The book is very clear on what it is: A woman’s fantasy written down. I mean, who doesn’t want to fall down a rabbit hole to end up in a world where all the males are literally mad for you? It totally would take some time to get used to and just like Allison I’m also not the kind of girl who just dives in head first (pun intended), but I think, just like Allison I could have grown quite used to this.
What makes the book an even more amusing read is the fact that the author, and Allison, is constantly very aware of all the clichés. No, she’s totally not going to be such a heroine falling easily for the first hot man she meets. No, she’s not interested in being their saviour, because being the chosen one sucks and why the hell are all the men so handsome? Where are the ugly ones like they have in the real world? I could identify surprisingly well with Allison and just like her I did fall for the charms of the handsome guys she meets.
But, strangely enough the story is not JUST a guilty pleasure. Buried under the amusement, the smut and the constant sexual tension, there are actually quite interesting themes that are never forgotten. Rape and consensual sex, free will, ptsd, it’s all hinted upon and lingers constantly in the background. For me that’s what made this story the perfect middle ground.
The book has just enough interesting layers (thin ones, but still) to keep me interested and curious to see how this story will continue. And therefore the pleasure parts of the story, become all the more pleasant!
I WANT MORE! (There are two more books, I will order those tomorrow!)
Absolutely loved this trippy retelling of the classic fairytale. From the first understanding of the newest iteration of Drink Me and Eat Me, this tale just gets darker and grittier with every step. Allison is the perfect anti-hero with a truly troubled past in a world where most women are married to an average of 10 men. The age of the characters had me raising my eyes a bit, but if you can reserve judgment, the characters are so intriguing you’ll feel compelled to come along for the ride. Book one ends with a bang, (more accurately a crash) setting the scene for another wild ride. If you like dark subjects and tortured characters, jump into Underland and get ready to explore
I absolutely love this take on the classic fairytale. Allison seems to start to come into her own when of course life gets crazier. Underworld is definitely leaves a lot of unknowns and I am so glad I can read the 2nd book right now!
“We are all mad for you here.”
It was hard for me to rate this book. I loved the plot. I loved the characters. I loved the dark reverse harem twist. I hated the excessive use of the words fuck, fucked, and fucking.
Normally cussing doesn’t bother me. I cuss like a sailor on certain days and then on others my mouth is semi clean of profanity. But this book at 7% around the 23 page point I had to pull out a sheet of paper and start counting.
Fuck/fucks(mostly fuck): 62
Fucked: 8
Fucking: 68
There were few pages every now and then that were free of these words and I could relax into reading without having to tally, but then like cockroaches and herpes it came back. Sometimes with a vengeance.
Majority of the time, Stunich didn’t need to use any form of the word.
Besides that annoying problem, like I said I loved the story.
“A book.
That’s what starts it all, the bloodshed and the violence, the romance, and the sex.
A goddamn book.”
While in the first chapter the author dropped “subtle” hints which I hate when a author does this because, you guessed it, they are not subtle!!!
“If I’d known then that I’d later see him with a bullet in his head, I’d have run away screaming.”
Thanks bitch. Glad to know he will die!!! (P.S. sorry for the bitch remark. You know I love you)
Luckily she only does this within the first chapter and only twice. I think. Maybe three times. Can’t remember.
The only other thing I hated was Allison/Alice/Sonny whatever you want to call her, contradicted herself about knowing the story of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. At 29% she says:
“Fuck, I need to ask someone about those damn books and see what they say.”
Then a few pages later she says:
“But I guess literally stumbling into a brand-new world that I never knew existed, one that matches up with one of my favorite childhood reads, has really taken its toll on me. ”
Um… What?
A few pages she said she needed to ask someone about the books, but then says they were her favorite childhood read. What?
We are all bookworms here. We know if something was a favorite of ours we don’t forget it to the point we have to ask someone about it.
I really didn’t fully begin to like Alice till the end of the book. I will say though I am going into the second book. This one left on a cliffhanger and I have got to know what is going on.
Maybe I need a new sheet and start counting in the next book. Hopefully it has improved with the cussing.
We are all mad here!
I’m not crazy. My reality is just different than yours!
Imagination is the Only weapon in a war against reality
Loved, loved, loved this series. Excellent world building and wonderful characters that gave me a great escape.
I know im a little behind on starting this series but I’m so happy and pleasantly surprised by this book. I saw it and fell in love with the cover and decided to read it, I’m so glad I did. This is a different, darker and sexier take on the original book. Highly recommend this! I have already bought the rest of the books!
An Absolute Must Read!
Fantasy done right!
This was a new author for me – I honestly don’t even remember how I came across it but I am so thankful I did. This is one of those reads that I found myself literally immersed in- it was so easy to be lost in Alice’s (sorry, Allison’s) character – I would catch myself lifting my eyebrows or tilting my head, laughing out loud and even at times backing myself up a bit into the couch to get away.
In book one we meet Allison and a few of Underlands fine citizens
Allison- who -isnt- Alice is our fiesty heroine – her character is flawless. She has all the quirks that come with her youth and the stubbornness that seems to be forthcoming in most skeptics making her a force to be reckoned with while at the same time her innocent curiosity gives an endearing quality to her character
And Dee and Tee – I want a set!! Just saying every girl should have a set!
Lar’s I think is my next fave that we have met so far, just something about him calls to me.
North I am not so sure about.
Chesh – wait for it I am not sure if I found it endearing or repulsive
And Rab , like North I am not sure how I feel about him
I’m a huge fan of the retellings, and CM smashes this one out of the park. I love her world building and her own unique spin on everything ‘Alice’. The main character is hilarious, her inner monologue is one of my favorite things about the book. This was a complete page turner!
This story was incredible, in case you didn’t get it from the title this is a dark and sexy retelling of Alice in Wonderland….but.so.much.better. These characters are constantly on the go, they are complicated as hell and there is lots of crazy and lots of sexy around every corner, it’s a magical and action packed story. All of these characters are freaking amazing, they are all kind of jerkish and rude, Rab is a bit of a psycho (just mt type) and the chesire cat is as peculiar and perplexing as you’d imagine and Dee and Tee are kind of like guides that are irresistible, Lar is actually kind of normal in comparison to the other characters and North…yum. I love dark reads and this is a retelling of one of my favorites so of course I loved it, but it really is a great book and definitely should be read by anyone that likes dark and sexy.
So, fun fact – I avoided this book for a long time. I have no idea why. It kept showing up on my recommended reads, and I love a good twist on an old tale. I love so many other CM Stunich books, so I finally read this one. I was such a blooming idiot for not reading this book sooner. I love it. CM Stunich doesn’t know how to write a bad book. This sucks you in from the beginning, and it does not let you go. Allison is a brilliant character, and to see how her relationships develop with the other characters, especially Tee and Dee is brilliant. This is a dark, sexy, and fun book. I have been dying for book 2 since I read it, and I am so happy that it’s finally coming out soon.
Holy shit, this is the best rendition of Alice in Wonderland I’ve ever come across! It’s always been my favorite story, so I was so happy that C.M. Stunich redid it. This is phenomenal it’s dark and gritty, and sexy as hell! Just like you’d expect from Wonderland, there’s nonsense and riddles galore. I love the poetry/prophecy, it fits right in with this nonsensical world.
The characters are amazing and complex, the storyline is riveting, and the descriptions of the world are top notch. There is nothing to not love about this book!
In a fantasy “dark reverse harem romance” based on a book that was also a fantasy, I find it really makes me happy to hear about the actual social issues in America 2018. Oh no wait, it makes me unhappy. It makes me angry. It takes me out of the ENTERTAINMENT of the book and slaps me right back into the real world. If I wanted to read about society’s issues and concerns I would pick up a book about that. I pick up romance for escapism and pleasure. This book gave them to me a bit and then took them away.
This is the 3rd book this week in which the author has felt the need to address what’s going on in the real world in a story about made up people falling in love and banging like bunnies.
You want me to give you a 1-star review and lose me forever as a reader? This book is how you accomplish that. I hope this trend ends soon. Romance authors are ruining my entertainment
This is a great adult take on one of our favorite children’s tales with a naughty twist.
