Two Couples…So many emotions, so many ups & downs, loss & love, all the drama and alpha goodness…wrapped up in one EPIC ending to a series that has become one of my absolute favorites! Your stomach will be in knots and you’ll definitely be white knuckling your kindle as you go on this journey with the Chicago Defiance!
Reading Allegiance was bittersweet and I definitely drug reading this book out because I’m sad to see this series end but I am so very excited to see where we go next.
Lift is the Sergeant At Arms of the Chicago Defiance MC and feels like the odd man out as he lives a very solitary existence surrounded by life and love involving the other members. Then he meets a woman who is a mystery to him but she instantly rocks his world. Will she accept him when she finds out who he is or will he need to change his for her? Vibe is a club member and he and Hayley are together. She might be a club girl but she is his exclusively. Then something happens to her and their worlds are rocked – totally. This book is all about lies – those we tell ourselves as well as manipulation, deception, abuse and hurtful thoughts/actions. So where are the allegiances going to lie at the end?
OMG – this was just SO good. It started dramatically, got worse, then changed tack and got even more dramatic before the finales for each of the two tacks that were unrelated but equally as dramatic. It was like being in a washing machine, going through one segment of the wash cycle, then emptying and going through the next wash cycle segment. There were times when I was horrified, times I was just angry, times I was thrilled and times I was completely heartbroken and crying (I had to stop and wipe my eyes so that I could see to read!). Throughout were the common themes of love, loyalty, sacrifice and vengeance. Well written, easy to read, feel and understand. Contains some explicit sexual content, violence and sexual violation.
4.5 stars
I’m always happy to be back among the friends I’ve made with the Chicago Defiance MC! KE Osborn writes a complex and layered novel that’ll keep you turning the page late into the night.
This book is really a twofer, with stories layered between Vibe and his girl Hayley and then Lift and the unexpected connection with Lily. Vibe and Hayley have been “together” for awhile but Vibe hasn’t really done the right thing to take her from club girl to Old Lady. When Hayley is assaulted, everything changes. Usually the club likes to handle these things with a swifter form of justice but the guy was arrested, so it’s gotta be by the books this time.
Lift meets Lily by chance but they have an instant connection. Knowing she’s high class, Lift lies to her about who he is, without realizing she’s done the same. When he finally reveals his connection to the club, both are devastated to learn she’s the high powered attorney representing the scum who assaulted Hayley. Hayley has worked so hard to make a name for herself but she’s come to hate the job she does but never more than having to represent this repulsive man. When it all comes out in the wash, a new enemy takes the club by storm and everyone must determine where they Allegiance lies.
Fantastic read. I experienced a range of emotions in Allegiance; shock, disgust, heartache love and I even cried, which is fairly rare for me. Loved every minute of the book and especially enjoyed the new generation at the end!
AnnMarie – Alphas Do It Better Book Blog
Allegiance is the eighth and final title in the Chicago Defiance MC series. Much like the previous titles in this series it has action, intrigue, suspense and heat in droves. It’s quite an emotional read, and is told in multiple points of view, focussing on the relationships between Lift, Lily, Vibe and Hayley. Allegiance is full of unexpected twists and turns and I was captivated from beginning to end.
The characters in this series are well developed, endearing and interesting. Both hero’s are protective, loyal alphas. Lift is desperate to find the happiness and contentedness his club brothers have found with their old ladies. Lily and Haylee may appear to be quite different but both are intelligent, strong, stubborn and incredibly resilient.
I loved that so many previous favourite characters made cameo appearances throughout and we were able to catch up with their stories. The epilogue was fabulous and I look forward to reading about the Houston Defiance.
Wow ! What a great story we were engrossed in the pages to the very end. This story had so many amazing character who were good and bad but, overall most of them were so easy to love. These character’s were so fun and with this eclectic bunch of characters both male and female they made us laugh out loud more than a few times throughout the story.
This story started out with a bang that was filled with suspense, romance, deceit, love, family, second chances. The story had so much going on but, I feel that the author did a great job wrapping up this series. We loved seeing how all the members have grown over the years and how they now have families of the own now and we loved seeing their interactions with their kids. One of the most adorable things was when the author described a party and Torque’s and Trax’s kids were running around with cuts of the own with the saying “property of ” with their fathers name on them. “My heart just melted right then and there!”
Over the years Defiance has had some good and very bad times but, through it all they had made so many powerful allies and when finally push came to shove those allies were there no matter their past history between each other they had there backs. We loved how they were all there to take on a common enemy.
“It was a sight to see !”
Final thoughts would be!
What a fantastic ending ! We loved seeing Lift get is happily ever after and a women who could not but be more of a complete opposite yet, completely fit him perfectly. We loved that the story was filled with love, laughter, family and a whole lot of hotness and yet, on some level it was an emotional one also.
We loved it !
I was a little broken-hearted to find out this is the end of the series. I have adored reading these stories. We get to know more about Vibe in this story, thanks to his side piece, Hayley. Who is Lily? How does Eli meet her? What does she do for a living? Who are Raphael and Henry? What happens when Lily and Henry have a meeting with Raphael? Oh, my…. I did not expect to learn what I did about Henry. What happened after the meeting was surprising and through the end of the book kept me on the edge of my recliner. I cannot wait to start reading the Houston Defiance MC books! Be prepared to have tears. I needed tissues. Enjoy the read!
RECEIVED THIS BOOK AS A GIFT FOR A FAIR/HONEST REVIEW and REVIEWER FOR Bloggin’ With M. Brennan.
This series has been one of my favorites and I’m so sad to see it come to an end. And what an ending! KE Osborn’s writing is phenomenal. I loved how we had two main story lines going on at the same time. I loved Lift, Lily, Vibe and Rowdy’s story and how they each had issues to overcome. And my heart completely shattered when they lost one of their own. If it wasn’t for the fabulous epilogue I might’ve held a grudge lol!
Absolutely fantastic ending to an epic series!
What an outstanding close to a phenomenal series. That is simply the best way I can describe the storyline Ms. Osborn has given us with Allegiance in her Chicago Defiance MC series. I have loved these guys from the start. I’ve watched the brothers go through tough times and heartbreaking times; times of joy, love and laughter and through it all they have stood as one brotherhood, one family. Allegiance was not only a perfect ending but a true testament to who the Chicago Defiance are and what they stand for.
This is a story with not one but two romances involved. Their intertwined stories are emotional and gut wrenching. Four people as well as the entire MC brotherhood must deal with tragic times, life altering times as well as deal with betrayal and lies. Can what starts out as two very happy beginnings and a club that brotherhood has stood tall faced the worst and come out on the other side or will their allegiance be broken?
Kudos Ms. Osborn for another amazing read. I can’t recommend this series/book enough. There are not enough stars to express just how great this reader feels they are. If you are a MC Romance reader this is a must read series. It’s definitely in this readers top 5. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 stars.
What an awesome ending .. continuation .. loving, scary and heart wrenching words for our favorite MC club. They know more than any one what FAMILY means <3
When the u thinkable happens to the legendary club girl Haley you WILL cry and scream for her but then when you find out Lift gets involved with the enemy he doesn’t know it and neither does anyone else. When the enemy or so they think is the enemy comes to realize that enough is enough on helping the true enemy and words on a wall mean nothing if you don’t have the ones you love aren’t worth the fight anymore ..
Can she help the MC club get Haley her life back ?? There is so much love in these words you will feel them yourself and when they feel heart ache you will .. yes you WILL .. CRY like I did !! Family is everything !!
Is this the end of Defiance .. I think and HOPE not !!
I have loved the Defiance MC since book one. I can’t believe that I just read the last book of the series. With each book, I got more invested in the characters. This one was one of my favorites, and it is a definite MUST read!
5 Defiance Filled Stars!!!
I don’t wanna be writing this review. No!! I wanna pretend that The Chicago Defiance MC has not ended.
Every book in this series is from another couple from the club. Except the previous book Defiance that was told from multiple POV’s. This is told from 4-POV’s, 2-different couples but are both dealing, battling and moving forward from the same horrible circumstances.
We know when Defiance ended Vibe got a call that something happened to Haylee but not what. Allegiance picks up Minutes before where we left off in Haylee’s POV.
While at the club Haylee has a customer who just by looking at him makes her blood freeze. Before she can get in her case to go home, he assaults her. Unfortunately, it was in front of witness’s and the cameras. Which means the MC can’t handle it the way they’d prefer but instead the man has been arrested and they must do things by the books. Which none of them want.
Lift has been in the MC for awhile now. Lately he feels like the odd man out. Almost all his brothers have found their Old Ladies and Vibe claiming Haylee after realizing he should’ve done it awhile ago.
Lift doesn’t think he’ll find his Old Lady. That is until the day they meet Haylee’s lawyer. Lift goes to get a coffee and meets the most beautiful women he’s ever met. The only issue is he’s dressed in casual clothes and not as his normal biker-self.
Lift doesn’t think Lily would want him if he wasn’t an upstanding citizen, so he tells her his real name and makes up a job. He knows he’ll have to tell her the truth. Just not today.
Lily works hard everyday. Lily works in the law firm working for the man that made her want to become a lawyer in the first place. Lily has her mind & heart set on becoming partner and her name going on the wall of her building.
Lily just has to win the case her boss is making her take. The only problem is Lily knows the guy is guilty of what the girl at the club accused him of. One look in his eyes is all the proof she needs.
The more time Lift spends with Lily the more he wants to get to know her. With Torque and everybody else in the club telling him he must tell her he finally decides to just do it.
When Lift brings Lily to the clubhouse things don’t go as planned. Vibe, Torque and Lily all go crazy. Turns out Lily is defending the guy who went after Haylee.
Lift is crushed but he knows his club, the ladies and his brothers come first. He cuts off ties with Lily until she showed up at the club.
Lily gets threatened by the same guy who hurt Haylee and she runs to Lift. After talking to Torque and telling her everything she knows he allows her to stay with Lift and the club has her back. Even if Vibe doesn’t agree at first.
The more time Lily spend’s with the club the more she realizes how wrong they’re judged. Hanging out with the Old Ladies Of the guys is the first time she’s had any friends.
The guys are biding their time with Haylee’s court case but still living as normal as possible. Until new, unwanted and dangerous visitors come banging down their door. Not everybody’s luck at the end and the guys are down sitting down and playing nice.
They’ll say and do whatever they must to make sure the person responsible for hurting Haylee, Lily as well as others. It’s a race against time before another person doesn’t make it.
Again, I’m so mad I’m writing this review. I’ve come to the conclusion I’m in denial about this series ending. Ever since the cover reveal for Resistance, this series has had my favorite covers. It’s my #1 book covers for any series I’ve ever read and I’ve read a lot lol!!! One of the main reasons why is the picture of the cover connects to the brother who’s story is being told and each one is unique.
I loved how KE wrote both these couples story. Their story was connected and yet both couple had their own personal issues that came from it that they had to deal with separately and together. She nailed it.
Scratch’s letter to Tiny had me crying my eyes out. As well as a few other parts. The Defiance men and their Old Ladies are as amazing, funny, protective and scary as the very beginning. I’m extremely looking forward to the next Chicago Defiance chapter and everything else KE releases.
This is the 8th and final novel in this phenomenal series and while I am sad that this is the end of the road, I am also excited to discover what this gifted author is bringing to us next! This is 2 stories in 1: Vibe and Hayley as well as Lift and Lily’s tale. Hayley is understandably traumatised after a vicious attack, and Vibe is patiently there for her, and Lift has a chance meeting with Lily only to discover later that she is representing the scumbag that attached Hayley. This is a well written story which is an emotional roller coaster journey throughout, as well as having twists, action, suspense, danger and love. I was totally intrigued throughout this intense story and I recommend for all MC lovers. Be aware that there may be triggers for some reads though!
This was a much anticipated one in this series. I had been waiting for a minute for the next one with delight when I got into this world. If you think you have been given one that will flow right along danger on your part. It will also have so deep stuff to get into with raw emotions some that will tear the reader. The twists will be what give it the plus from others. Lily and Lift will claim you pretty much in this. There will also be Vibe and Haley to claim the rest. This will test loyalty and build love. On the edge is where you will find yourself at times. Loved every bit of this one.
In a perfect ending, KE Osborn carefully wraps up the Chicago Defiance series by pulling in all the characters we’ve grown to know and love in this final installment. I’m going to miss these guys and their old ladies. If you haven’t read the series, start with book one. They are all worth your time!
Outstanding End to an Exceptional Series
Since this was such a great series and the end was everything I could want in the last book. This focused on Lift and Lily and Vibe and Hayley. Of course we knew that the guys were in the brotherhood but the ladies also had a connection no one seen coming. Hayley had been attacked by one of the most vicious, vile person that when meeting even though he came across as “normal” was anything but. His eyes gave it away along with the vibe he put out.
Lift had met this beautiful lady one night over coffee and even though they were both not giving away what they were the connection between them was something that made them want to come clean with each other. Then the attack happened and all the secrets were out. The secrets could now tear them apart. Could the best friends be torn apart along with their women caught in a storyline that made your skin crawl?
There were crazy twists and turns that I never saw coming and took me to the edge of my seat. The explanation of how the Chicago Defiance MC worked was heartwarming with that big slice of danger on the side. I don’t know how to do justice to this book but believe me this is one that I won’t soon forget. This is definitely a must read for any MC lover!!
I am sad for the end of this series and that I just discovered this author at the end of 2019. MC is one of my favorite genre’s to read and not sure why I had not discovered this one sooner.
This one had my emotions going all over. I was angry one moment and then crying the next. This has 2 stories in one and it was perfect for the last book in this series. I also have done in a bit backwards as I have only read 3 of the 8 books so far. Lily and Lift’s story was a definite meeting of 2 opposite people. One of the right side of the law and the other who some would consider the wrong side of the law. A chance meeting in which they both find a little bit of a breather from their everyday life that was needed and a breath of fresh air for them both.
IMO I think you could read this as a standalone but would recommend reading these in the order they are in so you understand the other characters who appear and what their stories are.
So as the end came for this series, it was written so you have a completion of the Defiance MC’s stories.
Allegiance, loyalty or commitment to a group and this is exactly what this book gives us in the name of the Chicago Defiance MC. This story is more than a love story, it is family, faith, hope and ultimately happiness. This final chapter in Chicago’s Defiance took me on a turbulent ride. One filled with tears, passion, grief, despair, love and loyalty. As some staked their claim and others waited too long, the brothers and their old ladies stood shoulder to shoulder in a sign of support. A book that played havoc with my heart and at times broke me beyond belief, but it was the words, the actions and the aspiration of the brotherhood that gave me comfort. A beautiful way to finish this series.
The Chicago Defiance family always takes me on an intense, unpredictable ride. Vibe and Lift become the focus in this installment. Vibe has been hooking up with club girl Hayley for a while but hasn’t made her an old lady yet. Then one night, Hayley is attacked which sends a shift in the club since her attacker gets arrested, not how they prefer to deal with the situation. At the same time, Lift meets Lily and finds an attraction he never expected but both of them hide who they really are to each other. Then their two worlds collide when Lift finds out Lily is representing Hayley’s attacker. Lily has worked tirelessly to become a named partner at the law firm but meeting Lift has her reevaluating this singular focus. When she finds out he is connected to her latest case, a man she doesn’t want to defend, where will her allegiance fall? A new threat enters the picture against the club in the process that puts another brother at risk. This journey kept me guessing and had me tide in knots needing to know how this family would survive these latest challenges. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
Wow, what a roller coaster of emotions this book gave me. I couldn’t put it down once started. I had to know what was coming next.
We get two couples in this story, and I can tell you it was worth having both. A already established relationship and one whole new one.
I loved both couples, even though I wanted to scream a lot in this book. You could see the emotions.
There are really two love stories we follow in this one. Lift meets Lily when he’s not dressed as a biker. He’s attracted to her in a way he hasn’t felt for a woman. He doesn’t admit being a biker, however, he isn’t the only one keeping secrets. Their feelings grow along with guilt for not being open. When the truth comes out it affects not only them but the club. Will there be a way to be together without giving up his club?
Haylee is the head club girl. She handles the other girls and so much more, however, she and Vibe have been together without a claiming for some time. When a dark time comes it draws the two into a new place. The question is will they go forward or will it tear them apart?
There is a lot of club time in this one, lots of interaction with the club family. The action is there and plenty of steam along with emotional times that require a NEEDS-TISSUES warning. Still, it is a great read and I strongly recommend it.
