“Talk about frightening page-turners! I kept reading chapter after chapter. I had to know what happens next! And trust me―the scares just keep on coming!” ―R.L. Stine, author of Goosebumps & Fear StreetThis thrilling debut, reminiscent of new fan favorites like One of Us Is Lying and the beloved classics by Agatha Christie, will leave readers guessing until the explosive ending.“Welcome to … explosive ending.
“Welcome to dinner, and again, congratulations on being selected. Now you must do the selecting.”
What do the queen bee, star athlete, valedictorian, stoner, loner, and music geek all have in common? They were all invited to a scholarship dinner, only to discover it’s a trap. Someone has locked them into a room with a bomb, a syringe filled with poison, and a note saying they have an hour to pick someone to kill … or else everyone dies.
Amber Prescott is determined to get her classmates and herself out of the room alive, but that might be easier said than done. No one knows how they’re all connected or who would want them dead. As they retrace the events over the past year that might have triggered their captor’s ultimatum, it becomes clear that everyone is hiding something. And with the clock ticking down, confusion turns into fear, and fear morphs into panic as they race to answer the biggest question: Who will they choose to die?

I read an early copy of this book and absolutely devoured it. All the best elements of a great YA thriller are here — high stakes, great characters, and a fast pace that hooks you immediately and doesn’t let go. Can’t wait to share this one with friends once it’s out!!
I was lucky enough to read an early ARC of debut author Diana Urban’s first novel, All Your Twisted Secrets, and it. is. so. good! Rife with tension, teenage drama, a love triangle, backstabbing, and secrets — not to mention a syringe of poison and a bomb (!) — All Your Twisted Secrets is Agatha Christie meets The Breakfast Club and the perfect YA thriller to keep you up all night.
The premise of Urban’s captivating novel has six high school seniors receiving the same invitation to an awards ceremony. But when they arrive, the only door soon locks, trapping them inside with no cell service, no way out, and a note promising they will all die if they don’t choose one among them to kill. This was an easy sell for me, and I was greedy to unearth all the kids’ secrets soon after the story began.
All Your Twisted Secrets brings back the juiciest bits of high school — from crushes and flirting to college applications and career goals — all tied in with the most thrilling, edge-of-your-seat plot I’ve read in ages. And the ending will astound you.
If you’re looking for a captivating YA, a truly heart-pounding thriller, a teen drama, or just a fun, quick read, look no further than All Your Twisted Secrets. I highly recommend this one.
All Your Twisted Secrets is an absolute nail-biter. Diana Urban takes the locked room puzzle mystery and gives it a modern, scary, young adult twist. Young fans of Agatha Christie will be entranced. A stellar new voice to watch.
I absolutely devoured this book – it’s so much fun and the definition of unputdownable!
I had an early copy of this book and raced through it in a couple of days — I had to know what happened! Fun characters, high suspense, and overall an incredible young adult thriller
ALL YOUR TWISTED SECRETS lives up to its title, throwing a group of high school seniors in a no-win locked situation and slowly peeling back their secrets as the clock ticks. It twists (pun intended) and turns, playing out in equal parts present-day tension and flashback to fill in the how and why, weaving the two seamlessly together until they become intertwined as the countdown nears zero. I kept guessing until the very end, and once I finished and knew how it all played out, I wanted to read it again to experience it from a new perspective.
I was lucky enough to read an ARC of this and was so happy I did!! A very fun read that will keep you guessing ’til the very end.
A locked room, a ticking time bomb, and six teenagers all hiding terrible secrets — the perfect recipe for terrific suspense. In her smart and gripping debut Diana Urban crafts a classic Christie style mystery with a thoroughly modern twist. Cleverly plotted and full of surprises, ALL YOUR TWISTED SECRETS marks the arrival of an exciting new voice in YA suspense.
First, I’m big into thriller, mystery, and horror movies, but it’s very hard for me to connect to those types of books. I’m glad I found one that broke through that barrier! What I really liked about this one was that it was like the Breakfast Club meets Saw but not bloody or with crazy contraptions!
Even though the story is told from Amber’s perspective, I felt that each character was well developed. I felt bad for some, wanted to slap some, and wanted to hug some of them. I don’t always read books fast, but I flew through this one!
I especially loved the timeline of the story going back and forth between past and present to get the full story. I can’t say too much because I don’t want to give the story away, but I will say it was fun yet also with life lessons that make you think about things, especially bullying and mental health. Loved it!
I had the pleasure of reading an early draft of ALL YOUR TWISTED SECRETS and I can honestly say it’s one of the best books I’ve read this year. Great characters, great plot, and great twists. You’re going to want to put this one on your shelf as soon as it comes out!
With mystery layered on intrigue layered on suspense, Urban delivers a fast-paced, unforgettable escape room thriller–a gripping debut.
When a group of teenagers arrives at a scholarship dinner, the door locks behind them, launching them into a harrowing hour that forces them to confront all the horrible things they’ve done and had done to them in high school. Flashbacks reveal the reasons we have to suspect them–and the reasons they have to mistrust each other. The book delivers incredibly tight pacing all the way to the unforgettable ending. I can’t wait to see what Urban has for us next.
Oh my goodness! This YA thriller left my heart pounding. I am still thinking about this story two days after closing the last page. No sleepy story here! Well done, Ms. Urban.
All Your Twisted Secrets is an excellent debut, capturing the essence of Agatha Christie an exhibiting the storytelling with a sinister edge. This novel gathers six people together and traps them in a room, trapping them. All Your Twisted Secrets was honestly such a quick read because it is gripping. It moves from the present to the past, but it does so in a way that keeps the reader engaged in the story. It does not break pace and gives the story more dimension because it allows the reader to understand the characters and the dynamics between them.
As for the characters, thankfully, they are all likable to some degree. It is realistic regarding their dynamics and the use of the high school hierarchy. The way the characters move and navigate their high school lives is realistic, if a little dramatic, so the reader just needs to suspend their belief just a little bit. However, the stressors that affect the characters are stressors that are relatable. What also makes this an impactful story is how it discusses bullying, both online and physical bullying. Bullying comes in many forms, and Amber discusses dealing with being a bystander. Witnessing bullying and doing nothing, rationalizing it, it is just as bad as being the bully. Staying silent makes Amber just as culpable, and she comes to realize that. Faced with all their secrets, they begin to realize just how cruel they can be in their small actions.
All Your Twisted Secrets is a thoughtful read. It takes on an element of The Breakfast Club and gives it a thrilling twist that not only addressed an important topic but is addicting.
An ingeniously structured page-turner, All Your Twisted Secrets is a thought-provoking commentary on bullying’s destructive and far-reaching consequences.
Talk about frightening page-turners! I kept reading chapter after chapter. I had to know what happens next! And trust me ― the scares just keep on coming!
I received a beta copy of Diana Urban’s “All Your Twisted Secrets” and I must say, what a page turner! From “the shelf,” All Your Twisted Secrets interested me because I was looking for a thriller, but with some good character development. (It’s so rare now or days to find good characters that are not commercialized into standard archetypes).
I can tell you it was exactly what I was looking for. I stayed up until 2 a.m. reading before I realized it was time to be a responsible adult and go to bed. I finished it the next day. So it’s definitely a page-turner. If you’ve ever read any YA novel, you know there will be a twist, so strap in and prepare yourself for this ride.
Again, I love books that have great characters. I developed such a love/hate relationship with these characters. Without giving away too much, Amber is my new favorite YA character to love/hate. I absolutely worship the Amber/Diego relationship. These characters are what I LIVE for in YA novels.
I can’t wait to read the final copy and I DEFINITELY can’t wait to read the sequels.
Diana Urban’s sharp characters and clear prose has you twisting and turning through the past and present and keeps you guessing until the end. This is all the best parts of Pretty Little Liars paired with an ever ticking clock and an impressive realism in the intricately drawn characters and depiction of high school life. I’m so excited for this to hit the shelves!
Six teens are locked in a dining room of an upscale restaurant. Someone has to die within the hour or by the time the door gets opened, they will all be dead. This book back and forth from now and junior year, trying to figure out who did this to them. I love high school drama, so I was immediately attracted to this book. Secrets are coming out and it’s so delicious. This book grabbed my attention from the start and didn’t let go. I liked all the characters. I can’t wait for Diana Urban’s next book in Feb. 2022. I highly recommend this book to anyone.
6 teens locked in a room with a syringe full of poison and a bomb. They have to pick one person to die or they all do. Madness ensues and secrets come out. All Your Twisted Secrets alternates between the room where it’s happening and flashbacks over the past year and a half as things unfold and the truths come out.
Wow this book. It kept me turning pages until the very end. The stakes are high and as the secrets unfold, you just have to know what comes next. We all know these kids, the Queen bee/bully, the jock, the girl desperately trying to be cool, the stoner, the bullied, and the smart kid. We all went to high school with them. Diana Urban does a fantastic job developing her characters and their motivations and keeps your guessing about who might have done this to these teens all along. She has you rooting for them to succeed while also questioning their choices and mistakes. And from the AHA moment, you’re still left guessing how it all came about until the very last word.
Highly recommend this high stakes thriller that will leave you with surprises at every turn and questioning everything and everyone until the truth is revealed.
I came by mistake to this book, and when I saw its cover I knew I have to read it! I know it might be foolish of me to judge a book by the cover, so I cast an eye over the description, and I was convinced; I knew what I had to do! I went immediately on Amazon and bought the ebook version so I can start reading right away.
Six teenagers have been chosen to take part in a dinner party with the mayor to honour their performances and the scholarships they all gained. In no time, they discovered they have been caught in a trap. Somebody has locked them into the dining room with a syringe filled with poison, a bomb and a note. The note loaded them with fear by saying they have to kill somebody or everyone else dies within an hour. They all tried to retrace the events from last year to see who might have wanted to hurt them. Soon enough, it becomes crystal clear that everyone has secrets to hide.
With the clock ticking and the fear rising, who is going to snap first and who is going to get killed?
At first, the book can be a bit tedious, but after the first two chapters it grabs you like a shark, and it doesn’t let you go until you finish it. Knowing this is Diana Urban’s first book, we can turn a blind eye, can’t we? Were you to ask me, this book is quite a marvellous debut. It is action-packed and I just couldn’t put it down. Just like Kaira Rouda says: ‘It keeps you guessing until the very end’. The plot is cleverly made and makes you question the clues and assumptions most of us are looking for while reading a mystery book.
The characters are fascinating. Right when you think you know how their mind works and the reasons why they are doing what they’re doing, your whole world falls apart because you realize you actually don’t know anything. As you might have already realized, they are round characters. The action somehow floats around Amber, the story being told from her perspective. She manages with a lot of bravery to keep the situation under control. But after all, is she actually that brave or is there something behind that bravery of hers…
Last but not least, the way it is written. All the chapters are just the right length and each of them ends powerfully by keeping you at the edge of your seat. The words used are mainly from the most common ones, but it still has some rare and unique ones(‘abhorrent’, ‘blotchy’). I am not a native English speaker and it didn’t find it difficult to read.
Just like every good book, this one has a moral too. Even if you try your best to hide something, it will eventually see the light. And the worst part, you won’t see it coming. The best way to avoid all of these is not to lie.
Another thing is that it doesn’t matter how hard you think something through, there will always be the element of surprise. Our brains are unpredictable and some things can’t be seen from afar.
And now, one more reason to make you read this stellar book; If you were a fan of ‘One of Us Is Lying’ by Karen M. MacManus and ‘The Midnight Lie’ by Marie Ruthkoski, you will definitely love this one!
Overall, while reading I felt like crying for some characters, slap others, and hug the rest. It keeps you breathless and without a doubt it is epic! I definitely recommend this new and exciting novel!
