“If you only shine light on your flaws, all your perfects will dim.”
How do you write a review for a book when you have no words? When you’ve finished it hours ago and yet you are still speechless? When you know that there is nothing you can say to give this book the justice that it deserves….
Here’s what I can tell you. This book is real. It’s honest. It’s heartbreaking and at times, downright devastating. It’s powerful, yet at the same time, the words and their honesty are utterly beautiful. This story isn’t easy. My heart hurt so much. These characters are flawed, yet so easy to relate to. Their story so real you could almost reach out and touch it.
I’ll be honest with you, I was nervous going into this one. I knew it was going to be an emotional read and that it was going to turn my world upside down, and boy did it ever. This book completely consumed me. Wild horses couldn’t make me put it down. This book has totally blown me away and is some of Colleen Hoover’s finest works.
So, moral of the story. Pick up this book. Go into it blind. Have some tissues with you and just enjoy the ride. I promise the journey will be worth it….
I’m not sure there’s an author out there who puts me through the wringer consistently with each new book quite like Colleen Hoover does. I feel like her tagline should be “expect the unexpected… and tears” because she always manages to floor me with the twists in her books. She also makes me cry — to varying degrees depending on the book and my mood — every single time. These are all great things, and reasons she will forever be an auto-buy/auto-request author.
I’m not going to dive too deep into the story of All Your Perfects because, again, I feel Colleen’s books are best just experienced. Truth be told, I don’t even read her blurbs or any reviews for her books before I go in. I like jumping in totally blind — with tissues and a chilled bottle of wine on hand — and riding the roller coaster of emotions. That’s exactly what I did with All Your Perfects over the weekend. I read it in, quite literally, one sitting. (Seriously, my Apple Watch stats prove it. It kept encouraging me to get up and move around and I kept ignoring it because I had to know how everything played out.)
All Your Perfects was quintessential CoHo. I’ll admit I was a little nervous to read about a marriage falling apart, because I as an unmarried woman can have a tough time relating to books like that at times. This was not one of those times. The writing was so real and so raw that I could relate to Quinn and Graham’s struggles despite having no basis for that in my experiences. I’ll be the first to admit I had a love/hate relationship with both main characters at times. They’re both flawed and they both do some awful stuff to each other. I mean, there’s a reason their marriage is struggling. (Or, to be more precise, several.) But, I was still rooting for them. The idea of them splitting up broke my heart. The struggles that led them down this path also made my heart hurt.
If you’ve watched the musical/movie The Last Five Years, there were parts of All Your Perfects which reminded me a lot of it. Maybe not plot-wise, but the way the setting flipped back and forth between then and now certainly did. So did all the feels and emotions I had as a result. It was a beautiful book and I’ll close with this — I had more happy tears than sad tears. But there were tears. And wine. All Your Perfects is one of my new favorite CoHo books.

Apologies are good for admitting regret, but they do very little in removing the truth from the actions that caused the regret.
No matter how much you love someone—the capacity of that love is meaningless if it outweighs your capacity to forgive.
I’m not even that great of a writer, so I’m not sure I’m even going to be able to convey what I need to say to you in words. I’m better with numbers, but I don’t want to bore you with a bunch of math equations, like Me plus You equals infinity.
“I didn’t want you to fall in love with me because of fate. I wanted you to fall in love with me simply because you couldn’t help yourself.”
I just adore the way Colleen gives us a story we never knew we needed. She forced every upon emotion possible on me and I love her for it. This book is a deeply emotional piece of art that tells a love story where not everything goes as planned but instead everything happens for a reason.
This was a story that was impossible to put down. I thought I’d start it and leisurely take my time and then suddenly it’s six hours later and I am a ball of emotion. The writing style is personal and real yet not overly flowery. It made it easy to read and connect with.
This a book not to be missed. Grab it today, you won’t be disappointed.
Gaaaaahhh! Colleen, you just destroyed my heart and put it back together! This story is beautiful and honest, gut wrenching and angsty, heartbreaking and emotional, raw and just perfect!! I don’t want to ruin it for anyone so I will just say, get your tissues ready because Colleen Hoover has once again wrote a phenomenal, powerful story, with all the feels, that’s so uniquely her, you can’t help but fall in love with it! I could not put it down and read it in a few hours because it just has that kind of hold on you! Get ready to see this on the Best seller list in July! Truly amazing job!! This author really is one of a kind!
* Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for granting me this chance to read this in exchange for an honest review *
This book was so beautifully written. It was hard at times for me to read because I’ve gone thru a lot of the things Quinn goes thru. Graham….wow. Okay, he’s not perfect. I got quite mad at him at times. But I ended up loving him. This book touched my very soul and was sorry to have it end.
All Your Perfects is a love story that takes in all the marriage vows…for better, for worse, in sickness and in health. Ms. Hoover’s story is of a never-ending love that is pushed to the brink by loss and depression.
All Your Perfects is perfectly told in dual time periods by Quinn. Through her, we see the unlikely start to her relationship with Graham, their over-the-top new love, and the painful crumbling of their marriage.
I found Quinn and Graham’s situation painful. They grow distance from avoiding the elephant in the room. The misinterpretations that result from the avoidance are just as heartbreaking as the stupidity that results from the growing distance. Quinn’s perspective made everything feel hopeless. Without Graham’s point of view, their relationship seems doomed.
All Your Perfects is a beautiful story about love, commitment, and the impact of unfulfilled dreams and plans that didn’t work out. At times the book felt too hopeless to continue, but the mystery of the wooden box, and the power it held, kept me engaged. I appreciated the irony of Quinn and Graham’s siblings having the life they envisioned. I didn’t care for the stereotypical relationship Quinn had with her mother, but it was insightful of how Quinn approaches relationships in general. Juxtapose to that is Graham’s relationship with his family, which is built on a foundation of presumed positivity and support. The story culmination is unbelievably powerful in its revelation of Quinn.
“If you only shine light on your flaws, all your perfects will dim.”
Another moving, memorable novel from Ms. Hoover, All Your Perfects left me raw, emotional, and ultimately in awe.
“I can spend my time focusing on the perfect version of the life I’ll never have or I can spend my time enjoying the life I do have.”

Quinn and Graham’s perfect love is tested to its limits. They met on unfortunate circumstances but knew they were destined to meet from the start. The chemistry between them was intense and destined. Their love started perfect but can it end that way? Can their fated love withstand the lies, the secrets, and the memories through their marriage?
First off, every man needs to be Graham. His love for Quinn is absolutely beautiful. This man will do anything for her. Second, if you all have been following me for a bit, you know my CoHo obsession runs pretty deep. I don’t think there’s a book of hers that hasn’t emotionally destroyed me. “All Your Perfects” was no exception.
All Your Perfects is a beautiful and realistic story depicting how two people can move from being hopelessly in love at the beginning of their relationship to fighting for each other when times get tough.
I’d like to start of my review by admitting that I didn’t totally understand Quinn’s unhappiness at first. I found it baffling as to how she could be so sad in her marriage yet she wants to have a baby. Babies don’t fix things, it only makes the situation more stressful. But as the story progresses and I begin to learn more about what she’s going through and why Graham’s love hurt her so much then I could sympathize with Quinn and where she’s coming from.
I really like how real and relatable their problems are, especially on Quinn’s part. I don’t want to specify too much but I do want to say this is something many women face and I like that Colleen explored this issue so much.
Graham is definitely one of a kind, in the way that he’s so loving and understanding of his wife and is accepting of everything about her. I think Quinn had all these expectations and dreams going into their marriage, that while Graham shared and loved about her, he also knew within his heart that none of those things would shatter the love he has for her should they not achieve them. I believe Quinn lost this somewhere down the line and definitely needed to be reminded of what truly matters and why they got married to begin with.
Being that the story is written in past and present times, you really get to experience the highs of their relationship and the most hurtful times. I enjoyed getting to know these two and falling in love with their love. It definitely started out crazy but you quickly warm up to the intense feelings between them. I’d be smiling at their cuteness and then crying at their sadness. It’s just that great of a story with superb writing. I haven’t read a Hoover novel since Confess, but this book certainly has me hopping back on the CoHo train. I highly recommend!
All Your Perfects:
Colleen Hoover
“If you only shine light on your flaws, all your perfects will dim.”
There hasn’t been a Colleen Hoover book that I’ve picked up and successfully NOT cried during. THIS is another one of those.
All Your Perfects switches between past and present, telling us how Graham and Quinn meet and then how they are in the present.
Colleen Hoover’s writing NEVER misses but this book is just.. unreal. Every single time I got a little too overwhelmed or emotional by the present, I had. momentary respite with the “past” chapters. I’ve absolutely never read a book like this–one that literally gripped me by the throat and choked me up every single time.
Quinn’s frustration and her mix of emotions is so tangible and I understand her downward spiral of depression and the guilt and that internal struggle she deals with.
This deals with SUCH important concepts and isn’t afraid to really delve into it. It’s not something that people talk about enough and I am so happy Colleen Hoover took a step to breaking down some of the stigma around infertility. I am so grateful to you for writing this book.
All Your Perfects is real. Raw. And it HURTS. But it’s oh so good. I don’t know what to say other than that every single person should read this book at least once. If you need a shoulder to cry on as you do, let me know.
This was my first Colleen Hoover book. I’m so glad that I picked it up in the book store. Wow, what an incredible journey. You meet and fall in love with the characters. The journey isn’t all rainbows and butterflies but really hits you deep on your soul. Amazing to say the least. I wish I could give this more than 5 stars! Loved, loved, loved this book! Thanks Colleen!
First the high, then the low; yup, romantic vertigo…
Superb read! Heartfelt, poignant, sad, and beautifully crafted.
Prepare for heartbreak and a story of true love.

*TW for infertility*
I heard a lot about this book and I had high expectations, but I wasn’t ready for all the emotions I felt while reading it. As always, Colleen broke my heart in hundred pieces, but It was worthy every single tear.
Alternating then and now, we get to see a couple going thru two phases: falling in love and falling out from it.
Quinn and Graham Wells are the ultimate soulmates. They met in the weirdest situation out of all of them, but you could tell the attraction was there. Slowly they get to meet each other and they realize how alike they are.
Their past scenes are the cutest scenes I have ever read. I was swooning the whole time and falling in love with them.
But then on present time my heart broke each chapter. Just when I thought nothing else could get in their way, they had to face a new struggle. I never read a book with infertility as the main plot, but I can tell this one was done perfectly. The pain is raw and tough, held with care and as realistic as It could be.
Despite everything they had to face, Quinn and Graham proved to be stronger than that. I am so proud of their growth and strength .
I would like to give a special shoutout to chapter 28 aka the chapter that had me bawling my eyes out. If you have read it, you will understand me .
If you don’t mind the TW, I highly recommend you to read it!
4.5
As per usual, a book by Colleen Hoover that forces me to stay up until wee hours because I NEED to know what happens. It made me laugh but most importantly it made me cry – so naturally, I loved it. I wasn’t the biggest fan of Graham, he is probably my least favorite love interest/male character from Colleen Hoover’s books that I’ve read so far. It does contain the topic of infertility and I think it could potentially be a hard read for some but it was very good.
At this point I’m not even surprised that Colleen Hoover has given us yet another phenomenal book. All Your Perfects was everything! Both sweet and devastating. Dealing with real life problems, this book shows us that sometimes the existence of love doesn’t guarantee a life without hurdles. On the contrary, those hurdles might be strong enough to tear a couple’s relationship apart.
But not their love for each other.
Quinn and Graham are perfect for each other. Their perfect love, though, is threatened by their imperfect marriage.
Struggling with infertility is a devastating situation for both of them, especially Quinn. Years and years of constant disappointment have led her to avoid her husband’s touch and affection, afraid of the heartache that would follow approximately 28 days later —when she would be confronted with the fact that she hasn’t been able to conceive yet again.
This book follows two different timelines, the first showing their current situation and the struggles their relationship faces. The second timeline focuses on how they used to be at the start of their relationship —both full of unconditional love and affection for one another.
This way, the book was so much more emotional than it would have been if Colleen just focused on the present situation. We get to see them build their relationship from the start, we witness moments of affection, we see how amazing Graham was (and still is) with Quinn —before she became obsessed with the problem of infertility she was facing. We also see a carefree side of Quinn, we understand what made Graham fall in love with her in the first place.
Seeing how different their relationship is a few years later is heartbreaking. Waiting to find out whether this unique kind of love Quinn and Graham have for each other will survive the threat and the ‘Category 5 hurricanes’ or completely fall apart was seriously giving me anxiety.
Colleen managed to portray realistically, perfectly, one of the many problems a marriage can face throughout the years. It proves that, sometimes, love just might not be enough to save what cannot be saved. And sometimes love is so strong it might be the only thing that can save an imperfect marriage.
So many beautiful things were said throughout the book, and I definitely recommend All Your Perfects to everyone who loves reading books. This is a must read.
A more thought-provoking romance novel. Well written and does a great job of making you see/feel the perspectives.
Emotional, heartbreaking, nerve-wracking and depressing but of course with a beautiful HEA
I know, that could be said about everyone of Colleen Hoover books.
But it’s what she does.
She provokes and shocks her readers in different ways with everyone of her books.
This is a heartbreaking story about a married couple who fights for their marriage.
They didn’t fall out of love.
Their love for each other is still strong and they are still attracted to each other, but sometimes love is not enough.
Sometimes depression and anxiety take the front row in people’s minds.
Their relationship is overshadowed by lack of communication and Quinn’s mental condition.
It’s really painful to read about her struggle with her depression.
It’s even more sad to read about the mistakes that they do in sheer desperation.
Especially Graham’s imperfections.
That just don’t make sense
Did I love this book?
Yes, of course I loved it, but I think I need a little time before I can read a story like that again.
This story was heartbreakingly beautiful and my heart hurt with each chapter.
I loved how each chapter went back and forth between then – where we learned about how Graham and Quinn’s relationship started, how they fell in love and were freaking adorable – and now – where we journey through their struggling marriage and experience some truly heartbreaking realities that were hard to read. Graham is the perfect guy. He cares so much about Quinn, and he is the glue that holds their relationship together. I can’t even imagine what Quinn went through in this book. So many heartbreaking moments and my heart broke right along with hers. Though they had many struggles and lack of communication in their marriage, Graham and Quinn’s love is so strong. This book made me cry and I could hardly make out the words on the page. Raw, emotional and beautiful, the end of this book is worth all the feels.
This emotional rollercoaster will keep you going , one minute you are in love the next you are feeling the characters emotions. Colleen has done a wonderful job in this story .
There was a lot I liked about this book: The interesting premise, the intriguing story structure, and the hero, Graham. The one downfall for me was the heroine – I really struggled to like her, but obviously not enough for me to give it a four star rating because it was better than just “okay.”
LOVE LOVE LOVE it
