Who would have guessed that a guy who works for ESPN could write such a terrific novel for women? . . . This book, and these women, surprised me all the way through, and moved me to tears and laughter both.
Mike is as clever, astute, and perceptive as he is brilliant. He has beautifully pulled off the three female voices in this novel — a rare feat for a man — with tremendous wisdom and insight. I can’t wait to see what he does next.
I thought the beginning of the book in Part 1 was just setting the scene for us. Part 2 took me in a direction I was not expecting. The next morning I had to reread several of the last chapters, as I feared I misunderstood some thing. Delightful book, and I ordered the second one the author wrote, called His Fathers Wives.
Don’t read it Bless you can deal with people not well handling their breast cancer.
Was surprised when this book took a turn in a whole new direction. Captured insights of traumatic lifetime events shared in a way that kept you wanting to know more.
As a woman who was diagnosed with breast cancer recently and has undergone surgery, chemotherapy and radiation this past year I could relate to many moments and thoughts that the characters experienced. I liked the stories and was happy that the vibe was positive given the serious and grueling health issues that breast cancer brings to many lives …
Way too long
Who would ever believe that a male sports writer could get into the female head so well? Well defined characters, interesting takes on different reactions and responses to a diagnosis of breast cancer. Loved the characters and their stories.
Interesting- written by a man and would have thought a woman considering the subject.
I liked this book! It was easy to read and about three very different women!
You need to stick with this book to the end. A seemingly okay read for the majority turns into something absolutely wonderful.
I am reading it now,,,confusing and hard to follow the characters.
I really liked this book. It was the first effort by Mr. Greenberg and he did a great job. Very well written.
I had a hard time reading this book. The story jumped around from one story line to another. It took too long to put it all together.
Didn’t feel written by a male as the women’s viewpoints felt so real and tangible
It was an OK read. Not one I would necessarily recommend but I did like it enought o finish it and it maintained my interest.
I loved this book! It was so easy to read. I loved the characters and was amazed that it was written by a man. If I can workout while reading and be surprised when the timer goes off, it’s engaging! Is it going to win a book award? Nope, but it’s a good read.
Well written book about people that I can actually relate to. Greeney’s style is certainly different than what I expected after watching him most mornings on Mike and Mike (though it is as disjointed in the telling, much like his morning patter). Overall, a very enjoyable read.
It’s full of obscenities.
I thought it was remarkable for a man to write in the voices of three very different women.
