As far as Maren is concerned, life is perfect and it’s just about to get better. On the cusp of her fortieth birthday and with her only child almost grown, it’s time to start putting herself and her marriage first. But when the butterflies in her tummy turn out to be morning sickness, Maren’s world is flipped upside down with an unplanned, high risk pregnancy—one she’s ashamed to admit is … unwanted.
Overnight, everything changes and the ripple effect of the baby she’s so unsure of is felt in every corner of her life. Her perfect life slowly disappears. Her teenage daughter looks for attention in the wrong places. Her best friend inexplicably blows up and stops speaking to her. And worse, her once doting husband pulls away when she needs him the most.
Just when she’s sure things couldn’t possibly be worse, a shocking discovery rocks Maren’s world. Faced with a devastating deception, a truth she can no longer ignore, and an impossible choice, can Maren stop her life from completely unraveling? Or is All We Never Knew too much for love to overcome?

A Women’s Fiction story from romance writer Elena Aitken. Maren, the heroine finds out she’s pregnant at age 40! And that is only the start of her surprises (and not all of them are good). This is an emotional rollercoaster, but I loved it. Enjoy!
All We Never Agnew was simply wonderful! It was also heartbreaking, stress-inducing, frustrating and made me want to throw my e-reader against the wall. This is not like anything Ms. Aitken has written (at least that I’ve read) before. It’s not a romance but a beautifully written story of how one very strong woman deals with her world spinning totally off its axis.
I will not go into details, as all my thoughts and feelings would definitely give away hints to the storyline. I do confess to reading it in one sitting, to staying up past my bedtime and enjoying more than any other women’s fiction book I’ve ever read in general, I’m not a fiction…women’s or otherwise…fan. I want that big, sloppy, sometimes sappy HEA.
I loved this book. I encourage everyone to read it. One of the best books I’ve read so far this year.
So much pain and heartache, realistically so. In real life, people are hurtful, not close to perfect, and we don’t get an HEA. I enjoyed the story and cried through most of it.

I just loved this book and couldn’t put it down.
I absolutely loved this book by Elena Aitken! All We Never Knew is a women’s fiction book which is a little different from what Elena Aitken typically writes, but definitely worth reading.
Maren has finally reached a point in her life where she can make decisions based on what she wants and less about what is best for her family, but a surprise pregnancy changes that. What she doesn’t expect is the reaction that she gets from her best friend and family when she tells them.
This story was great and I’m definitely looking forward to reading more books by this author in the future.
I was given an ARC from the author/publisher. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.
I loved it! Be sure you have Kleenex close by!
ALL WE NEVER KNEW is an awesome read! Ms. Aitken has a writing style that I love. Her characters are very believable, the situations are real, the lies, secrets and betrayals are truly heartbreaking. This is one of the best books I have read in 2020. I highly recommend along with tissues.
Oh The Feels! This book takes you on a journey of discovery……..life isn’t always what you think it is and sometimes you have a huge earthquake that shows you the truth. Wow! A very powerful book!
Elena Aitken has a gift for writing. When she puts pen to paper the words dance off the page and into my heart forever. Her world’s she creates are just magical. I often find the characters struggles realistic and relatable.
In All We Never Knew we get a different story. This is not Elena Aitken’s typical romance. In fact it isn’t a romance at all. We get to meet Maren Bennett and Davis Bennett and their daughter Rylee Bennett and Sabrina Miller. You get to hear the story from Maren, Sabrina and Rylee’s point of view. Maren thought everything in her life was perfect and then life happened and threw some serious curve balls at her. I really loved every aspect of this story. I felt for Maren and Sabrina. My heart broke and I cried and laughed a bit. I even was very upset at moments. After all I have a teenage daughter. In ways Rylee reminds me of my daughter. My heart just went out to all the characters in this story. I could even feel for Davis.
I could not put this book down. I have since read this two more times. This book was very realistic and relatable. I have experienced some of Maren’s struggles and even been in her situation though my outcome was different. All We Never Knew is a powerful story. A story of heartache, healing, love, friendship and journey. The journey Maren takes is phenomenal. I could feel her heartache through her journey. I really felt as if I was there watching the story unfold rather than reading it. As the story progressed I was transported there. All We Never Knew reminded me why I still read. All We Never Knew captivated my heart and soul. Reading this story was a pleasure. All We Never Knew captivated my heart and soul. I thought the ending was perfect and left open in a way for a sequel. With that said this is not your typical Elena Aitken book and there isn’t romance or HEA. I honestly felt like this is one of her best books yet. All We Never Knew is perfection. It’s truly a work of Fiction. I hope we will get a sequel. I hope to see more books like this from Elena Aitken. As I mentioned before All We Never Knew is one of her best books and that means a lot because I love all her books.
This is definitely a departure from Elena’s usual work but that did not make this story any less strong. Each chapter from a different perspective leads to an unexpected ending after a series of world altering events change how her characters move forward with their lives. This story is far from a typical romance because in fact it is not a romance but it does have Elena’s well developed characters who grow as the story moves. I wanted to know more after the story ended for the main character as she had the most dramatic change ever in her 40 years. It was her personal growth to move past the events that changed her which truly stuck out to me. Elena has once again built a character who does not allow her troubles destroy her.

This book did have some surprises in it that I didn’t see coming. I started it about 9 pm and couldn’t put it down. Maren just turned 40 and was ready for some changes. Her daughter was 16, she was focusing on her career and she loved her husband, and she was pregnant again. When she finds out a horrible secret, her world is rocked. I think she handled it as well as she could. More events happen that rock her world more, but this is a story about finding the strength to continue no matter what happens

Friends since childhood Maren, Davis & Sabrina have found themselves in a bed of lies. They all come out after Maren’s surprise 40th birthday party. There are many surprises in this story, but can they survive all that is happening?

I just want to say this book is one of my favorite reads this year and I’ll be buying the paperback, when it becomes available. This book definitely deserves more than 5 stars! This book may be different than Elena Aitken’s previous books, but it is her best work, in my opinion. Maren reaches her 40th birthday and learns she is pregnant. This comes as a total shock to her, especially since she’s looking forward to getting that promotion at work and doing what she wants, for once. Then, she gets a bigger shock, when she learns of a betrayal that she never even imagined. I’m not going to leave any spoilers because I want all women to read this amazing book and fall in love with these characters like I did. I can’t wait for Elena’s next book.

I love love loved this book! Could not put it down. It kept my interest from page one, and so well written. I don’t want to give any spoilers just know that you will not be disappointed! The characters really come alive in this book! Maybe a sequel????

Absolutely LOVED Maren’s story by Elena Aitken in All We Never Knew!
I don’t want to give away too much, but Maren had such a compelling story about insanely large life changes, betrayal, and starting over even when you don’t want to.
All We Never Knew was a great shift for Elena, and I am so glad I was able to read it during this insane time in the world. It helped provide a small escape and I cannot wait to see what she has up her sleeve next for us!

This is different to Elena’s other books, but it is still a wonderful story. It is full of human emotions, and what it is like for many women hitting the 40 year age group.
Once you start reading you won’t want to put it down.
I don’t want to say too much to give away spoilers, the people in the story are very realistic and all the things they have to deal with are heart breaking.
Please take the time to give this book a read you won’t be disappointed.

Heart Wrenching!!
Elena Aitken had me holding my breathe and my kindle as my heart broke in two. Gah! This book is brimming with emotions!!! My heart hurt so bad, but Elena Aitken’s beautiful story telling healed it up and filled me with hope and love.
I was completely hooked, completely immersed, completely invested and completely addicted. I literally could not put this book down, I had to keep turning page after page. These characters were so real and dealing with so much. I wanted to heal with them.
All We Never Knew is an absolute touching story, I definitely recommend going on this journey with this family.
This book was not what I expected. What We Never Knew was an emotional story that definitely tugged at my heart strings. Maren’s life is flipped upside down and things will never be the same. This is not the usual type of story feom Elena Aitken but I was really drawn to it and ended up reading it in one sitting.
Just wow!! This is a story that pulled on my heartstrings for sure. Maren thinks she’s got the perfect life and in a moment it all seems to start unraveling. SO much emotion to this story, for Maren as things she thought she knew turn out to be false, betrayal beyond comprehension, devastating losses; for Rylee – lost in her own way, her own senses of betrayal, looking for comfort in the wrong places; Davis and Sabrina…well… there are consequences to actions… The overall message to this heartbreaking story is resilience, strength where you didn’t know you had it, re-evaluating all you knew and deciding how you want to move forward – finding new dreams when you had to say goodbye to the old. Have the tissues handy for this one. Not Elena Aitken’s typical HEA romance, but ends with hope for the future nevertheless…just a different future than Maren ever imagined.
Can I just say, “WOW!” This book was outside of the books Elena usually writes. I won’t spoil it but I will say that there isn’t necessarily a happy ending but there is definitely a silver lining. Maren thought she wasn’t strong, but yes she was. This book is relatable on so many levels. I cried! I think a lot of women can identify with Maren. The daughter shows a great amount of honesty and strength too. This book follows the lives of this family and Maren’s best friend. Just when she thinks there is no light at the end of the tunnel, she grabs a lit candle and holds on. I definitely recommend this book to all the women out there that thinks life at 40 is a downhill spiral.
