Caroline and I walked out the back door and went into the barn.“What are we going to do?” Caroline asked.“Head out on our own. Saddle Whitey, please.”Caroline’s mouth gaped open. “They’ll find us.”“I know.”Caroline sighed. “What can we do then?”I shook my head. “We can stick together. Always.”Tragedy stole everything from him … except her … Always.”
Tragedy stole everything from him … except her …
Three years ago, an illness orphaned Henry and Caroline Sullivan. The harsh years at the orphanage have forged a strong bond between the pair.
But Henry’s about to age out.
He must choose whether to leave his only family behind in relative safety, or take her with him as he pursues dreams of owning a farm. Henry trusts that God has a plan for him, but little does he know that others have plans for him and his younger sister as well. He will need all his faith to find the right path.
Although this is the second book in the series, it can be read as a standalone.
Note: 50% of my income from this series will go to the World Orphans organization.

Faith Blum did a great job writing this book. It was wonderful the the song was used throughout the book. Thank you so much for writing this book. It was a joy to read. So many books have bad word it them–I just get them off of my device as soon as hit one. I loved this book!
Tear-jerker in a good way. The most important thing in life is a relationship with Jesus Christ. It is the pivot point that all life revolves around for all of us that are His. This book focuses in on that relationship and blesses the heart in doing so. Great story. Very inspirational.
A good story of kids leaning on God.
I just finished it last night and wish I had more like it to read. Wonderful story, and characters. Reading it helped me get calm and prayerful. What a wonderfully written book. Thank you . We need more books like this in this crazy world.
I read this book in one day – part in the afternoon and the rest in the evening. It kept my interest, I learned new things about times in the “old west”. It was a simple, quick read filled with God’s love.
A heartfelt story facing the challenges of living a life filled with God.
Am busy reading this series. Orphans of the West. Just starting #3. Don’t have #4 yet but hope to get it soon. Just love her books. Would recommend them to my friends.
Very uplifting story. Hated to see it end.
put on my wish list
It was a nice book of living your life in faith.
It was a delightful and charming story which inspired me to believe that God does constantly and faithfully lead me through every valley and mountain experience.
I really enjoyed this book! It was faith-based and inspirational. I would recommend this book to others!
Shows what trusting in God can do for people.
I love this book! Incredibly uplifting! I will read everyone of this author’s books.
Good story line and faith building. Just felt it was a bit unrealistic for a young teen to have such a maturity level without some mentoring himself.
I enjoyed this book and received it free from bookbub this is my true and honest review
I loved how a young boy tried to keep his family together after his parent died. How he constantly sought Gods help and guidance.
This was an excellent story. It was easy to read and I loved the hymns. Loved the characters and the fact it went through many years. A lovely book!
The trust in God’s word by the characters was so encouraging. I love old hymns & it took me awhile to remember the tune.
It was so good to read a book that didn’t have bad language or sex in it. A wonderful book about God’s love and care.
This was one of the best books I have read in a long time. It shows what some children go through and how things change for the better with their faith in action. Shows how a personal relationship with Jesus Christ can help in the worst of times.
