After reading the first book I got really curious with this second couple so I started it as fast as I could. I really liked the characters and I enjoyed how the relationship between Owen and Becca was developed. Overall it was a good reading and it’s really easy to enjoy Kendall’s writing.
I’m curious with other couples of this series so I’ll pick the rest of the books soon.
All the Way is a friends-to-lovers romance about a professional hockey player, Owen Parrish, and Sarina Bowen (Becca), his sister’s friend and the executive assistant to the owner of the Seattle Ice Hawks. These two have a wonderful friendship and genuinely enjoy each other’s company. They see each other often at work and at events, and in their personal lives as well.
Owen has been known as a player, both on and off the ice, and when his very best female friend asks a favor of him, how can he refuse? These two are introduced in book one of this series, Playing for Keeps, where you first learn of her traumatic past. She has trust issues, and desperately wants to move past it.
I loved that these two were friends first and how well they got along. How honest and open they were with their feelings, and the point when their feelings changed. How much they grew as individually and as a couple, and that they made each other better and happier. Complete. How they could each let down their guard and be their true selves with each other. But it wasn’t easy getting there and for them to navigate is this just me helping you with intimacy issues, or are we in a romantic relationship.
There was one scene I didn’t care for which reminded me of 50 Shades of Grey. She was upset and seemed repulsed when he told when he was 17 (almost 18) and was with a 21-year-old woman. Big difference between those ages and a 15-year-old teen and a 40+ year old woman. I didn’t like how she judged him, especially how he never judged her and only offered her support and encouragement. How patient he was and thoughtful he was when planning all of their dates so she could become more confident.
This book had plenty of action both on and off the ice! I loved the secondary characters as well and am looking forward to reading book 3 in this series.
Hot Jocks #2 this time up Owen (Star Goalie for the Hawks) and Becca (Best Friend to Owen Sister and good friend to him.) Owen is a player with puck bunnies lining up to score with him. Becca has trouble with relationships because of trama in the past. Can they help each other evolve?
I enjoyed All The Way, this was a friends to lovers romance! Loved the banter the chemistry and oh so many hot and steamy moments that Owen & Becca had going on!
I adore this series but this book is my favourite! I cannot recommend it enough, you’ll fall in love with all the characters and get lost in their world.
A Wonderful Friends to Lovers/Hockey Romance
I have to say Owen is going down as one of my favorite hero’s ever. I am shocked because he is totally more than I expected after meeting him in Playing For Keeps. The way he takes on the responsibility of helping Becca conquer her traumatic past was nothing short of amazing. This is the second book in the Hot Jocks Series and I loved getting to know all these characters and cannot wait to see what happens next in the series.
This the second in the Hot Jocks series centered on Goalie Owen and his BFF Becca. Becca had been sexually assaulted when she was in college and even with therapy, she is unable to be intimate with her dates. After a tequila soaked night, she makes a proposition to her BFF Owen to help her get over her fears. Owen is the typical Hockey manwhore, who hasn’t thought of anything beyond a night with a woman. Of course, the lessons become something more. This is a quick easy read, but very similar to the first book in the series.
This review is for an ARC and is my unbiased, honest opinion.
Kendall Ryan writes swoon worthy men like none other. I just thought Justin was going to be my favorite in this series…..then here comes Owen, with his signature dimple, grinning at me. GAH I loved this book. Owen Parrish is the goalie for the Ice Hawks. Becca works for the team but is also really good friends with Owen and his sister Elise. Owen’s protectiveness for Becca made my heart flutter!! I love how he was always there for her and taking care of her.
Becca was almost victim to sexual assault when she was a freshman in college, luckily someone came along and stopped things before it could go further. She’s had trouble trusting men and letting herself get physical with someone ever since. Becca proposes that Owen be her wingman and ease her back into the dating world. Owen’s solution is that yes, he will help her but he wants to be the one she experiments with.
This agreement leads to some of the best moments I’ve read in a really long time. Owen’s dedication and patience in helping Becca was utter perfection. I also have to give MAJOR props to Becca. I cannot imagine what she’s been through but her strength and determination were beyond admirable. There was a quote in the book that really struck home for me. It said “Courage isn’t about not being afraid. It’s being afraid and doing it anyway.” I loved that sooo much!! Becca pushed through her fear because she was tired of it holding her back. I was rooting for her so much throughout the story.
Overall, I don’t have anything negative to say about this story. It melted my heart into a pile of goo. This book also fogged up my glasses quite a bit LOL!! The steamy times were FIRE. I highly recommend giving this story and this series a try. I’ve given both books in the series 5 stars!! I can’t wait to see what Kendall has in store for us next!
Owen is the starting goalie for the Hawk’s. He is one of the best in his sport. Loves his job and all the perks that come with it. You guessed it, another man whore who loves women for one night only. He is best friends with Becca and enjoys spending time with her but never took it further than friendship because she is best friends with his little sister. If you read Playing for Keeps (Hot Jocks 1) you learn that Becca was sexually assaulted her freshman year of college. Since then she has been nervous around men. She can go on dates but when it starts to escalate into the physical she freezes up. She wants to move past this so she asks her best friend, Owen, to help her loosen up and not be scared of sex.
I am usually not a big fan of the FOB books because there is always so much miscommunication and lack of communication. But this book was so damn sweet. I really loved and appreciated how sweet and caring and slow Owen was with Becca. He really took the time to let her feel comfortable. However, I take a bit of issue with him saying he wanted to dominate her. I don’t feel like that was him at all. I think he likes it rough and kinky which I can see being a trigger for her but I didn’t see anything that would make him a dominate. Maybe that all happens later once she is more comfortable but I didn’t see anything about floggers, whips and tying up (oversimplifying but you catch my drift) so I don’t think that was accurate but didn’t take anything away from the story for me. Becca is a amazing. I really enjoyed how she was ready to take her body back and not be scared anymore. This book had it all for me. Their banter was funny as all get out, sexy, and characters that relatable. Highly recommend this book and can’t wait to dive into the next one.
If I’m being honest, I don’t always love the whole “less experienced heroine asks very experienced hero for hookup advice/lessons” trope, but when it’s done right, it’s done RIGHT.
Kendall Ryan adeptly navigates what happens when a friendship becomes something more, and does so with humor and care. Becca’s backstory is important, but not defining, and Owen’s sensitivity and attentiveness to Becca because of her past is charming and so wonderful to read.
What can I say except that Kendall Ryan has done it again. I know I’m beginning to sound like a broken record, but it’s the truth! Her books and her characters are addictive.
This is the book I have been waiting for…someone to tame Owen and bring him to his knees, and no one is better to do that than Becca. She is ready to move on from her past, and date again. However, that is easier said than done. She wants to, yet every time she attempts to make a move in that direction, her anxiety gets the best of her. She turns to Owen, the man who has a revolving door of women in and out of his bed. If he can’t help her, there is no hope.
Owen has no problem helping Becca navigate the world of dating. How hard could this be? Becca is his best friend, but it turns out it’s much harder than he expected. The chemistry between them is undeniable, but will he cross that line of friendship? As they spend more time together, he begins feeling things he has never felt before. He isn’t boyfriend material, but could he be that for Becca?
Ryan gives us a sweet, sexy romance. I’m a huge fan of friends-to-lovers books, and this is one of my favorites! There are serious moments, but there are also moments that are filled with Ryan’s trademark humor.
Owen just brings out the best in Becca. She grows more confident in herself each day, and as Owen himself says, “it’s been incredible watching her bloom with a little time and affection.” She isn’t the unsure woman she was at the beginning of the book, and that is thanks to Owen’s love and patience with her.
Just as Becca isn’t the same, neither is Owen. He has grown and matured so much. He doesn’t miss the mindless sex with women, nor the adoration of his fans. He is perfectly content and happy with his Becca, the woman who stole his heart!
I can’t wait to read Teddy’s story next! Kendall Ryan definitely has the magic recipe to keep bringing me back to her books each and every time I finish reading the last page. Make sure to read the acknowledgments at the end of the book. You will see some parallels between Ryan’s life and this book….it was so very sweet!!!!
Wow! Another hit by Kendall! I loved the connection and sparks from Owen and Becca! Friends to lovers that you can’t forget! Can’t wait for more from these jocks!
Owen and Becca slowly melt the ice
All the Way is Book 2 in the Hot Jocks series by Kendall Ryan and I loved it. Having grown up watching NHL Hockey I really like the back stories that Kendall Ryan is giving each of these super sexy and smoldering hot hockey stars and the women that capture their hearts, tie them up in knots and bring them to their knees.
All the Way is the story of Owen and Becca. Becca is best friends with Elise, Owen’s sister and the h in book 1, Playing for Keeps. So Owen and Becca have known each other for years and area also really good friends. Additionally, Owen is the starting goalie for the team and Becca is the assistant to the team owner, so they are also involved professionally. But things start to change when Becca enlists Owen to help her work past a traumatic event from when she was in college that caused her to not want to be close or intimate with any man. Owen has his own history with women that is of a super typical playboy jock, lots of woman throwing themselves at him so lots of one night stands. Let’s just say that he has some changing and growing to do along with way. This story is sweet and loving in that it shows how both Becca and Owen help each other to grow and open up to the love they each deserve and into the arms of their best friend.
All the Way is a slow simmering friendship to full blown inferno lovers romance story. I was so rooting for both Becca and Owen all along the way, even if I did want to hit Owen a couple of times. They are both witty, funny and passionate in this emotionally poignant story that is a wonderfully written story. I also liked that they continuing story of Justin and Elise is weaved through this book and that of other characters. I am really looking forward to reading the next books in this sports romance series that is really a winner.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
This was a fun and cute read. Owen is a successful hockey player. Becca, his best friends, works in the front office for the team. Becca decides she needs to get out in the dating world and who best to tutor her but Owen. It seems like the perfect arrangement until none of their lessons go as planned. This is a romantic, fun, easy read.
I just wanna start by saying I love this author and her books. They’re always amazing and I always enjoy them.
All The Way was just as amazing as I thought it would be. Becca and Owen gave me exactly what I needed. The heartache and love spread throughout this amazing book.
Becca is a strong, independent woman with a rocky past.
Owen is a strong hockey alpha hero with a reputation.
and they’re best friends. It’s absolute brilliant watching these two throughout this book, I loved it so much.
Owen and Becca own my heart. Now and forever omg. Kendall Ryan truly knows how to write a book that’ll keep you hooked.
All The Way is a an emotional romance. Filled with steamy moments and funny times.
Good gravy, I think Owen is my new favorite hero from Kendall Ryan. All the Way is one of those stories you can’t put down. It was fun, flirty, and sexy with characters we can all relate too.
I love how Owen is with Becca, sweet, kind and forever patient with her needs and wants. After suffering such a terrible trauma in college, Becca knows it’s time to get out there and data again. Who better than to try with her BFF, who just happens to be a famous hockey star.
Sit back, grab some wine or whatever your favorite beverage is and enjoy the second installment in the Hot Jocks series, you won’t be disappointed.
Great read, especially after reading the 1st on in this series – Playing For Keeps. Love the characters.
Angsty, hopeful, and passionate!
All the Way, the latest novel in the Hot Jocks series, is a slightly more emotive tale about the scarred, hesitant Becca who after suffering an assault in the past is having a hard time moving forward, and the handsome, hockey stud Owen who is more than happy to help his best friend find her mojo again.
The writing style is seamless and sincere. The characters are patient, supportive, committed, and lovable. And the plot is a delightful mix of life, love, friendship, family, self-discovery, empowerment, scorching chemistry, and steamy romance.
Once again with All the Way, Ryan has proven that not only is she one of the best at writing contemporary romance stories that are humorous, light, bursting with sexual tension, and full of characters we can’t help but root for, but also emotionally compelling ones.
Omg Owen! How much do I love thee? Absolutely amazing. Hockey players for the win!
Can a former player have what it takes to change up his game and show up for real? That’s the question I had when I started ALL THE WAY, the second book in the Hot Jocks series by Kendall Ryan. After all, Owen Parrish was the good-time guy, hitting and quitting all of the puck bunnies when we first met him in PLAYING FOR KEEPS (Book 1). Here, though, is his chance to redeem himself, to step up and be more than that. And, because Becca has such a particular and difficult history, he’s going to have to truly man up if he wants to make a difference in the way that she needs him to.
When I first went into this book, I wasn’t sure what to expect, or whether I could get behind the premise of the story. I will say that Kendall handled a subject that could be a potential trigger for people gracefully and kindly, and was able to keep passion, humor, and friendship at play, which made all of the difference. ALL THE WAY is not only a story of growth for Becca, but for Owen, because he has to dig deep and take a hard look at himself, and decide whether or not he can be the friend, and the man, that Becca needs him to be.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, mostly due to seeing Owen live up to his potential. It’s the perfect follow-up, and wraps up nicely for both him and Becca, and I like knowing that I’ll see more of them as the series progresses. Now I can’t wait to see what Kendall does with TRYING TO SCORE, next up, because Teddy King is a handful, and seeing him deal with the ‘L’ word is going to be a treat. Read on, saucy readers, and enjoy.
