Motherly love can drive her to the absolute edge… from her own terrible crimes—ones that mean prison and separation from her son should the police catch up to her before her husband does. If only she could remember that night and what really transpired…
Without warning, the unthinkable happens, and Drew is plunged into the most nightmarish situation a woman and mother could imagine. Desperate to save her child, Drew takes matters into her own hands, proving that anyone is capable of darkness, and nowhere is safe for those who fear themselves.

Intriguing from the first page to the last, All the Lovely Pieces is a must-read psychological suspense. I couldn’t put it down.
A mother on the run with her ten-year-old son arrives in a small town where residents quickly welcome them. But running and keeping a secret past is difficult when you’re hiding from a psychopathic spouse, trying to protect your child. This story had that sense of foreboding from the beginning, and it’s impossible not to race to the end to discover the outcome. Entertaining and tense with some surprising twists.
4.5 thrilling stars!!
This was my first book by this author but after reading the blurb I just had to read it. It was nail biting suspenseful from beginning to end. In couldn’t imagine having to live the way Drew did, always looking over her shoulders and never being able to truly settle down. Living in fear and always being on high alert…..it was an impossible book to put down.
Holy Hades! This was one heck of a mind trip! I’m not sure there is any coming back from this crazy, insane, twisted journey this author just took me on.
How do you even begin to review a book that has literally held you on the edge of your seat for HOURS, all while feeling like you’ve been shaken repeatedly, given a slight reprieve, only to be yanked up and tossed again?
From the very first page, every word draws a clear and precise picture of uncertainty, fear, and terror as we follow the story of a woman running from her abusive husband. Using one brush stroke at a time, this author paints a picture so horrendous it’s inconceivable. And yet, the story is never unbelievable. It is in fact, very believable, which only adds another layer of horror to an already intensely suspenseful book.
I was never sure how much of what the heroine was experiencing was truth, normal fear anyone might feel, a wild imagination, or paranoia born of insanity. Whichever way, there is never a doubt that she believes she has reason to fear and the suspense only builds higher and higher due to being inside her every thought. Her mind at times emotionally exhausted me due to her concerns but more often than not, frightened me because of what might really be in the dark.
”I feel for the blade under my pillow, hoping it someday won’t be used as a weapon against me. Having it there terrifies me. Being without it isn’t an option.”
There are so many frightening moments inside this heroines mind, but to be honest after the 3% mark, I was so consumed by this story that I was unable to pull myself out long enough to highlight the truly horrific thoughts. I’m telling you, this book is going to suck you in and everything around you will come to a screeching halt.
Be sure you go into this one blind. Stay away from reviews that are going to give details of the story you’re about to dive into. You should also be prepared for an all-nighter if you start this one later in the day and above all, have a support system ready for when you’ve completed it. You’re going to need it.
J.M. Winchester delivers a fascinating narrative full of decisive madness and mystery. The perpetual underlying apprehension she creates does something special in supporting the plot with this unnerving addiction, daring the reader to put the book down. The characters are well-crafted and surprising. Winchester leaves the reader in anticipation by slowly defining the story’s true antagonist and protagonist. While some of the foreshadowing is perceptible, especially for avid readers of this genre, it does nothing to take away the unveiling of events. Great novel for book clubs everywhere as the ending leaves much to be discussed. Loved it. 5 stars.
Thank you to #NetGalley and #ThomasandMercer for this ARC of #AllTheLovelyPieces
I love psychological thrillers, and this one did not disappoint. Edgy, page-turner, with twists and turns you never see coming.
I enjoyed most of the book, but the way things came together at the end was not very satisfying.
It’s hard to describe what I loved about this book without spoilers but I’ll try. It got off to a bit of a slow start but then it became a luge of twists and turns. The teenage characters were believable. Some of the adults were unrealistic. The whole teen girl trip to Madrid with a strange man, for instance. What mother would allow that? And how the dad didn’t lose his job at one point. I used to live in Madrid so I enjoyed how well the City was portrayed. The story left me with much food for thought.

All the Lovely Pieces is a fast paced thriller that keep me on the edge of my seat from the first page until the last. Told from the viewpoints of Drew, Catherine, and Michael. We do not get the viewpoint of Adam, but all of his actions throughout the book are enough . This story took me on one heck of a intense, emotional roller coaster ride. Once I started this book I could not put it down. Having suffered from domestic violence myself there was times I had to stop and take a breath before I continued. There were so many twists and turns as we step into Drew’s world as she goes on the run from her husband with her baby son. I’m not a big fan of books that go back and forth from present to past. However with this book they were done perfect and very needed . The flashbacks to the past were a great way for us to see just how horrific it was for Drew while she was living with Adam, ( her crazy multibillionaire husband who turned out to be a very crazy abusive psychopath.
All the Lovely Pieces is the debut psychological thriller written by the name J.M. Winchester. However this same author “Jennifer Snow” writes contemporary romance books. So a book like this was a big jump for her. And I must say she nailed it ! You feel every emotion of the characters as you turn the pages. All of the scenes were perfectly described. It was easy to feel as if you were right there in the middle of all of it. I highly recommend this exciting thrilling , dark psychological-thriller. Many thanks to the Publisher , the Author , and NetGalley for a ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. If you have Kindle unlimited you can find this book on there right now.

All the Lovely Pieces
ALL THE LOVELY PIECES by J.M. Winchester (aka Jennifer Snow) is a masterfully thrilling suspense that explores the darker secretive side of domestic abuse. This new writing venture has produced a marvelous work. Highly recommended 5-star read.
Drew Baker and her son, Michael, have been running for nine very long years ..always looking over her shoulder for the abusive man she knows will find her and kill her.
She married a billionaire and he promised to love and honor. Nothing was said about being locked in a room while entertaining the ‘nanny’ in their bedroom or having to deal with non-stop mental, physical, sexual abuse.
When one beating was enough to land her in a hospital, no one believed that her well-known husband had done this to her. At the first opportunity, she grabbed her son and ran.
All she remembers of the night she ran was a man shot dead and a woman with her throat cut. What really happened that night?
This is an excellent psychological thriller, well written. Drew’s desperation and terrifying need to save her child is palpable. Her husband is one of the most heinous characters I’ve ever seen.
The story is told from several perspectives … Drew herself, past and present … her son, Michael, 10 years old and perplexed by life with his mother … and a woman named Catherine who plays a pivotal part of the plot.
Many thanks to the author / Thomas & Mercer / Netgalley for the digital copy of this chilling psychological thriller. Read and reviewed voluntarily, the opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
Superb story, intense violence.
I couldn’t help but feel for this incredibly well thought out character and how she reacts to her circumstances. It makes perfect sense to me. I Got her!
In All the Lovely Pieces, romance author Jennifer Snow turns to suspense, and a new pen name. Twisty and turny, the plot will keep you guessing. This is the first J.M. Winchester book, but I hope it isn’t the last, I’m all in.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.
I didn’t get far, I was listening to it & didn’t care for the language.

I received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my fair and honest review.
Wow, this book really takes you on a roller coaster ride. Drew and her son have been on the run from her abusive husband for years, finally settling down in a small town and beginning to make friends. This was a well written book, and the plot was original in my opinion. I could feel the terror that resides within Drew when she was thinking about her past. I would definitely recommend this book to others.
Loved it!
I highly recommend All the Lovely Pieces. It was a fast paced psychological thriller, with well developed characters and a twisty plot that keeps the reader turning pages!
A satisfying debut thriller! J.M. Winchester normally writes happily-ever-afters under another name, so I wasn’t sure what to expect going into her first psychological thriller, but she held her own quite well. The back story was secretive enough to keep us guessing well into the book, and the turmoil the heroine and her child faced was riveting. Winchester stayed a bit true to her roots and left us with a semblance of a HEA with a twist, but there was also a little quirk involved. Recommended to anyone wanting some mystery and mind games without all the gore.
All the Lovely Pieces is a thriller centering around a mother who’s been on the run with her child for years from a brutal husband and a night she can’t exactly remember. The back story is given in small doses while weaving her current life in the mix as well as the husbands current machinations.
I started All The Lovely Pieces at ten o’clock at night, naively thinking I would read a little bit and then go to bed. At 1:18 a.m., I finished this book without pausing or setting it down and coming back later. Drew’s story reeled me in on page one. On the run with her son from her billionaire husband and wanted by the law, she tries to live her life with no attachments. Michael makes friends in the new town and Drew’s well thought out plans are tossed out the window. The story seeps out a little at a time until the horrors and truth smacks you upside the head and leaves you rooting for Drew. Exciting and chilling, this story demands finishing in one sitting while leaving the reader with a hangover full of shock and awe. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.
