You know how Cinderella had the whole glass slipper, pumpkin carriage, fairy godmother thing?Yeah…with foot-destroying stilettos, Uber, and a Twitter horoscope, my life is far from a happily ever after. In fact, instead of Prince Charming, I end up dating every slimy, scaly, brainless frog in the kingdom of Manhattan. And by frog, I mean all of the stereotypical bad guys that Mom and Lifetime … Mom and Lifetime movies warned you about.
The meathead player.
The mommy’s boy.
The namedropper.
The cheapskate.
If they suck at relationships, I’ve probably kissed those cold, clammy lips in the hopes of finding love. Until one day, when one man with commitment issues offers to help me find the Romeo to my Juliet.
But what happens when the frog, who was never supposed to turn into a prince, kisses you at midnight? Ok fine, he propositioned me for some afternoon delight after brunch, but not everything can be straight out of a fairytale.

All the Frogs in Manhattan is a standalone novel. I have read a few of Carrie books and they are always a fun ride. This one wasn’t any different but it was a lighter and more flirty read. Gemma was looking for her prince on an island where she only attracted the frogs…
Gemma was a twenty-five year old independent woman working for a female lifestyle magazine. She had great friends, a decent apartment, and a job that was getting her closer to her dream job. But she was missing something. She wanted the fairytale. But all she was getting was one-date douchebags. She was getting frustrated especially seeing her friends getting hit with the love-bug one by one. Then she met him. Well…she fell into him. He saved her from the streets of Manhattan after yet another failed date. He was cute and that was it. She forgot about him until she saw him again a few days later. Then for some reason they agreed to become friends with benefits before they were even friends. He made her feel comfortable. She made him feel good. They were two consenting adults that wanted sex. That was all. She would still look for her prince while he got what he wanted. What could go wrong?
Everything. Ok. I am being dramatic but I can’t say anymore than that. I will say that I liked the story. It was fun, flirty, and sexy. I laughed about her dates. The poor girl. Really though, I liked Gemma but I loved Oliver. There is just something about nerdy sexy that just gets to me. He isn’t too cocky but he is confident. I loved that he could banter with Gemma, she is a kind of crazy that I enjoy. Together, they are honest with each other but at the same time they are confused about what is really happening. They did make me laugh, get hot and bothered and made me feel grateful for finding my prince years ago.
Overall…it’s a fast and fun read.
Quotes:
“Do you think it was the period that made you lose your balance?”
“You came here looking for one thing, take whatever it is you need.”
“Did I ever tell you you’re like a mirage in the desert? Thank fuck, Oliver. Get me away from these people before they wipe my brain and abduct me away to Pleasantville.”
I’m sure Carrie Aarons felt out of her comfort zone writing “All the Frogs in Manhattan” but she hit the mark! This was a perfectly hilarious RomCom! Loved it! Carrie is so witty and the banter between her characters is so freaking entertaining!
I think what I might love about this author the most is that she doesn’t constrain herself to just one genre. You just never know what she’s going to come out with next! While all of her books have had romance elements that is the only way they are similar. I love that! I love knowing that I can look through her books and find a variety. This RomCom is one that I’m going to be coming back to again and again!
I loved every single thing about Oliver and Gemma! I mean, Gemma was a bit desperate and I wanted to throttle her neediness. I think I might be biased because I’ve never had a real problem finding good dates. My online dating ended with my husband. However, I know so many people are like Gemma though. They want that connection, need it to feel complete and that was exactly how I saw Gemma.
I thought Oliver was just a fun-tastic guy! He was upfront and honest from the get-go. I liked how real this book felt… life isn’t always smooth talking alphas! We get just fantastic banter between Gemma and Oliver. A hilarious first sexual encounter. I just loved how real (I need the thesaurus for that word) this was… there was no perfect sexual dance where the angels sang. That just made them so much more endearing for me! I like the flawed people! And Oh my word… Gemma’s dates! Lol no one should have to deal with those frogs!
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I will leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
This book is a reminder to all those out there still looking for “The One” that kissing frogs is part of the process. Some times frogs are truly what you want.
Gemma has dated tons of frogs. Bullfrogs, toads, and slimy poisonous ones too. She’s still searching for her Prince.
One bad date leads to a worse rejection and a new “friend”. With commitment phobes and friends all around her falling left and right, Gemma begs to know why she can’t find HIM. The One.
But she may as well have some fun while she looks…right? Enter her new friend, Oliver.
But their kind of friendship usually leads to problems. Oliver and Gemma aren’t ready for what can come…are they?
It’s a fun story with some great quips. I’m a banter loving girl and they have some great lines. Enjoy seeing the city through their eyes and learning about frogs!

I loved this story very true of dating. It’s a fuck buddy situation that could potentially turn into something more.
Gemma is a no-nonsense girl who’s looking for love but after the all BS dates she has had she’s getting fed up with the frogs out there.
She happens to meet Oliver while she’s on a bad date and they both decide to fuck instead of dating.
I liked this story, she’s sassy and bold and has no problem telling Oliver exactly how she wants it, he finds her refreshing and different.
