Wow! This story played with my emotions! At first, I really didn’t know how to feel about Samantha, she’s not a character you love right away. Or maybe you never love her, but you can understand her in some way as her story builds and her history unfolds. And what a history it is! All the Dark Corners plays on the evil embedded in the town of Crimson Falls and how it finds its way into all the cracks and crevices of all the people who reside within it. As Samantha finds out the hard way, if you’re lucky enough to get out, you should stay out!
This town . . . Crimson Falls . . . is just wrong on so many levels. I haven’t figured out if they all are special cases or what but I tell you each story will leave you questioning. Not questioning the story but you’ll get it. This time it’s about truth. This is a day feared and she has gotten away. Away from a past that still haunts her. She didn’t like who she was and what she did so she ran. Now she’s back to rescue her mom BUT . . . the past and the lies and the present all collide. She can’t get away when she is being played but who is the puppet and who is the puppet master. As events play out and she starts questioning all she knows and all that’s come to pass it’s time the truth came out. I love the way this author twists up a story. You don’t know all that’s in play til the last is revealed. Now to see what the fateful day will bring for them. Will they be swallowed and be the victims this year or will they be spared. There’s so much to this story in so little a book but I tell you you wont be disappointed. All I can say is I’m sure this place really exist . . . somewhere.
The title, “All the Dark Corners”, mysterious and most intriguing, got my attention and drew me in to see what was in those corners. Author, Emerald O’Brien backed up the title filling the dark corners with Crimson Falls twisted secrets of affairs to unsolved murder and irrational kidnapping.
Sam, a girl who left the town, never to return, had to go back for her mother. The storyline took off and pages flew to shocking reveals. A couple so shocking may had been best been left in a dark corner, but that’s what made the best reading. Definitely a great goodread, I’ll be reading more of Emerald O’Brien’s books.
O’Brien writes another page-turner with her latest release in the Crimson Falls series. I loved the dark undertones and couldn’t wait to find out what happened next! Highly recommend this one, it was so entertaining!
4.5 “Edge of my seat” Stars!
Leave it to Emerald O’Brien to deliver a twisty little story that sucks you into a dark little world full of questions. Sam’s story was not an easy one, you could see how her mother was manipulating her into staying in a place she was trying desperately to escape. This was an ending I did not see coming, making it a PERFECT novella for me.
Emerald where do you come up with stories? Please keep it up!
Twisted. Creepy. Chilling. Awesome! I truly love reading this author!
“One weak link in the chain will break us all. ”
Holy crap! What in the world did I just read? TWISTED! I loved every minute of it. Ms. O’Brien is a new to me author but I will for sure be looking up her other stuff! I love her style.
Very good story line. Sammy returns to Crimson Falls to get her mother out. Her father was murdered in Crimson Falls. This novella is well written and will keep you turning pages. 7 year old Stacy goes missing. There are secrets, buried truths and lies that keep you guessing.
Wow!!! A suspense/thriller that has twists and turns you don’t see coming. I enjoyed reading this book. It was a page turner. Samantha Tillman goes back to Crimson Falls to get her mother. The secrets that unfold, the real reason her father got killed, and who killed him comes out. What will Samantha do and will she survive is on your mind the entire book. Loved the ending. Thank you Emerald. 5 star ++
