North Chastain possesses a paranormal talent that gives him the ability to track down the most dangerous psychic criminals. JAK at her best! If you love books with a paranormal vibe (that doesn’t involve vampires or witches) this one’s for you. I especially love the “wounded hero.” Intricately plotted, with lots of action and a fascinating premise.
Another great read from Jayne Ann Krentz Fogg lake series! I just love that she’s gone back to these paranormal themed books with great characters and spooky elements that have suspense and romantic intruge. Krentz is a great storyteller and I have enjoyed her books for many years now. The storyline and pace are just perfect with a even flow. I loved both North Chastain and Sierra Raines they fit very well together in their working relelationship and later in their mutual attraction and falling in love. And was believable and not rushed. I can’t wait for the next book in this series to come out. Until next time Luv’s
Deadly secrets threaten the Chastain family bringing together psychic criminal tracker North Chastain and paranormal artifact expert Sierra Raines as they race to locate the relic that has put his father in a coma.
With the weight of the Foundation behind them, they begin their investigation uncovering more than they expected. When the trail leads back to Fogg Lake, they must discover the truth about the psychic weapons threatening them before they become the next victims of psycho.
I adore Jayne Ann Krentz and the Fogg Lake series. If you like your romance with a little action and suspense then you need to check this series.
This second trip to Fogg Valley is just as exciting as the first. With a new couple to root for, the reader is swept up into a brand new nefarious plot. You’ll love it!
This has been an awsesome series… I thoroughly enjoy each one! Love the writing, love the characters, love the story line! Hoping for more!
I loved the magic. The heroine was able to save the hero’s father.
You want be able to put it down fast page turning great read
North Chastain, whose paranormal night vision is fading to psi-blindness, is assigned to investigate the attack on his father that put him in a coma. Sierra Raines is chosen as the go-between and expert on paranormal artifacts. They find that the artifact used in the attack came from a secret project lab where North’s grandfather worked before he disappeared. There are all kinds of twists and turns involving a mental hospital, homeless people and finding a hidden lab. This is another great paranormal mystery from one of my favorite authors.
Another satisfying Fogg Lake novel with just enough “woo woo” element to add to the mystery and character development. Krentz even manages to tie-in her Amanda Quick and Jayne Castle series and there’s plenty of possibilities for more entertaining reads. The only thing that would have added to the snappy patter and romance would have been Dust Bunnies, but we have to wait for another Castle book to get our Bunny fix.
Worthy stand-alone edition to the series. I love this series and I love Jayne Anne Krentz in all her guises. She has a crisp acerbic style that draws me in. Can’t wait for the next book.
I love Jayne Ann Krentz’s paranormal romantic suspense novels, and All the Colors of Night is a great example of her series. The heroine has her own powers and saves the day more than once. The hero has a different set of paranormal abilities, and they work together as a team to solve a mystery and cure the hero’s father. I look forward to the next installment of this series.
Sierra Raines is a Vault agent transporting hot artifacts. Sierra is a psychic who has a strong talent but is under a cloud of distrust from her last job. These relics will lead her to a secret project closed down years ago and a killer who has inherited a broken psyche. North Chastain had inherited his grandfather’s psychic abilities and was the only one able to access the secret lab and clear his grandfather’s name. This is a great world building of psychic abilities. Fast paced and exciting. What would come out of the secret lab would change many peoples lives. The immediate chemistry between Sierra and North is at the centre of this story. You will want to look for further stories in the Fogg Lake trilogy.
I was given an arc of this book by Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
Book 2 of the Fogg Lake series had some pretty big shoes to fill. Book 1 set a high bar since it was so engrossing. This book delivered, same as the first. For those like me who love romance and mystery entwined with a paranormal provenance, Sierra and North’s story proved to be a grand slam homerun. Loved it.
Reviewing as Muddy Rose Reviews
Another eagerly awaited entry in these interconnected, paranormal Pacific coastal series of books by Jayne Ann Krentz that lives up to expectations. I thoroughly enjoyed the fast-paced suspense and the slow-burn romance. Talk about snappy beginnings, Sierra is held at gunpoint on page 1! But she’s hardly helpless. Her paranormal skill-set is a worthy match for North Chastain, a hero with a brain and common sense. My only quibble is that the twists in the villain hunt left me wondering what I’d missed, so I went back to check if the clues were there, which they were. A good read that has me looking forward to the next book in the series.
Sierra has some paranormal talent and is still unsure of her calling in how to use it. North has the talent to track criminals. North’s father falls into a coma and North goes to Seattle to find out what attacked him. Sierra lives in Seattle and has been hired to help him find the artifacts he will need.
The of course end up at Fogg Lake; which is a place where in the 1950’s and 1960’s there were labs setup to work on paranormal. North’s grandfather worked there and was labelled a traitor to the US when he disappeared years ago.
Is you have not read the Fogg Lake books I would suggest reading the 1st one The Vanishing.
I just love Jayne Ann Krentz books on suspense and/or paranormal.
If you love Paranormal Romance with a a good amount of mystery and suspense then you will love the Fogg Lake Series and especially All the Colors of Night. Again Jayne Ann Krentz has created a fantasy world of Fogg Lake and connected it got other underworld hidden within our own world. There are so many threads and webs of mystery ,it’s like a roller coaster ride of twisted plots. You are riveted to the book, hooked on absorbing every clue and figuring who is behind the villainous acts, only for Jayne to add one more twist in the end that you never saw coming! It was a brillant ,thrilling adventure that had me hooked from beginning to the end! I can’t wait to see what Jayne Ann Krentz comes up with next. There is a reason she is on my fave authors shelf! Well Done, Jayne!
Over the years I’ve lost some of my interest in “romance” novels. They can be rather hackneyed.
But Jayne Ann Krentz knows how to mix romance with paranormal with a certain something that captures my fancy.
Strong characters who have equally strong ethics.
Wanting to do right in a complex world.
For me, it works and is a blast to read.
Now all we need are some more dust-bunnies (those who know will understand)
This book had it all. Romance, suspense, paranormal components, and characters you want to be friends with. Am really excited about these Fogg Lake books. Jayne does not disappoint.
This was a great read in a series with many of the same characters from the previous stories. The Author is a favorite of mine
I have been waiting for this book for ages and it did not disappoint!!! I loved Sierra, who is good at her job as a go between, can take care of herself, but still is trying to find her way after her previous job was scuttled. North is serious and focused and deathly afraid that he is losing his mind and his talent, but still needs to figure out what happened to his father and how to fix it. Intense and vibrant and absolutely wonderful, I can’t wait for the next book in the series!!
