From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Rachel Van Dyken… her dream had been to marry a rockstar and live the high life.
Moving my recording studio to Seaside Oregon seems like the best idea in the world right now especially since Seaside Oregon has turned into the place for celebrities to stay and raise families in between touring and producing. It would be lucrative to make the move, but I’m doing it for my kids because they need normal, they deserve normal. And me? Well, I just need a break and help, that too. I need a sitter and fast. Someone who won’t flip me off when I ask them to sign an Iron Clad NDA, someone who won’t sell our pictures to the press, and most of all? Someone who looks absolutely nothing like my ex-wife.
He’s tall.
That was my first instinct when I saw the notorious Trevor Wood, drummer for the rock band Adrenaline, in the local coffee shop. He ordered a tall black coffee which made me smirk, and five minutes later I somehow agreed to interview for a nanny position. I couldn’t help it; the smaller one had gum stuck in her hair while the eldest was standing on his feet and asking where babies came from. He looked so pathetic, so damn sexy and pathetic that rather than be star-struck, I took pity. I knew though; I knew the minute I signed that NDA, the minute our fingers brushed and my body became insanely aware of how close he was—I was in dangerous territory, I just didn’t know how dangerous until it was too late. Until I fell for the star and realized that no matter how high they are in the sky—they’re still human and fall just as hard.

Spoiler alert. -Rock star dad needs Nanny asap as his wife left him for another man over a year ago and he is raising their three children by himself. The woman he hired is as attracted to him as he is to her. They initially fight the attraction, but he see how great she is with his kids which really need someone like her and this makes him want her even more. A great and funny read. The kids will entertain you with their antics and the sexual attraction is hot.
This is crazy seeing Dykens and Proby’s world’s collide and it works! I LOVE Seaside, so to see the return makes me happy. Such a unique crossover.
Do you remember Fallon? She did not have a big family, but she had a longtime friend, Penelope, who had moved from Cunningham Falls. This is part of her story.
Penelope has always lived in Montana. Until there came a time that she felt need to know other places, especially when seeing her best friends finding the love of their lives while she was left behind.
Upon hearing the advice of her cousin Dani, Penny decides to go to Seaside, Oregon.
It was a relatively dead town outside of Summer. She has already arrived there with guaranteed job as barista in a small Cafe. And already on the first day she finds herself attending none other than Trevor Wood.
Trevor is the sexy drummer of the Adrenaline band. Since they began years ago, his contract stated that he should always play shirtless, showing his abs, which make the fans freak out.
He had married a groupie, had 3 children and 1 year ago, she left him for a member of another Brazilian band. Now he found himself in a chaos among 3 needy and insecure children, each showing it in a different way.
On a particularly tense afternoon, Trevor sees the ease with which Penny dealt with his children, and so he hires her as a nanny in the afternoons.
Well, he was Trevor Wood, for God sake!! She had a crush for him as a teenager – with poster right on the wall – and now she was practically living with him.
The kids were the easy part. The hard part was the couple feeling they were connecting, and of course the ex witch decides to come back.
5 stars
Brilliant read.
Loved this book and the storyline.
Loved the characters and their connections.
Fell in love with Trevor and his band members.
Adored little Bella. She was comical especially when she kept asking Penny if she was going to be their Mom. Loved the way Trevor proposed to Penny and got the children involved with it.
So glad that they both got their HEA for themselves and for the children.
Single Dad/Rock Star/Nanny goodness from Rachel Van Dyken!
The single dad, rock star romance from Rachel Van Dyken in Kristen Proby’s Crossover Collection
Rocked My Heart! All Stars Fall is a unique, deliciously hot, endearingly sweet, Lol, fantastically good time Romance. I adored Penelope, I swooned hard for Trevor. The children were precious. I loved every single page. I couldn’t put it down and read it in one sitting. Prepare for all the feels, and for this story to capture and hold you hostage, until you read the last word. Sigh inducing, Swoon worthy and fanning myself Sexy!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
ALL STARS FALL is instalment 3.5 in Rachel Van Dyken’s contemporary, adult SEASIDE PICTURES romance series. This is thirty-one year old drummer and producer Trevor Wood, and twenty-seven year old, teacher/barista/nanny Penelope’s story line. ALL STARS FALL can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. For followers of the series Penelope is Dani Garcia- Green’s cousins (Capture #1)
NOTE: ALL STAR FALL is part of the Kristen Proby BIG SKY cross over collection.
Told from dual first person points of view (Penny and Trevor) ALL STARS FALL focuses on the building relationship between thirty-one year old musician and producer Trevor Wood, and twenty-seven year old, teacher/barista/nanny Penelope. Trevor Wood is a single father, in desperate need of a nanny. Meeting part time barista Penelope at the local coffee shop stirred something within our story line hero, something he hasn’t felt in a very long time, Offering Penelope a position as nanny to his three rambunctious children, Trevor finds himself drawn to the nanny for more than a business proposition. What ensues is the building relationship between employer and employee, and the potential fall-out as Trevor’s past comes looking for a second chance.
We are re-introduced to the friends and the band: Dani and Lincoln Green (Capture), Zane and Fallon (Keep), and Will and Angelica (Steal), as well as Drew, Jamie Jaymeson, Demetri, Alex and Ty.
ALL STARS FALL is a story of family, struggle, falling in love, and letting go of the past. Penelope doesn’t do relationships with the rich and famous, having witnessed the notoriety and fall-out of her cousin’s life. Meeting Trevor Wood and his three adorable children meant putting her teaching degree to use in a way she never imagined. The premise is fast paced and entertaining; the characters are colorful and energetic; the romance is passionate but most implied.
Single Dad, Rock Star, Nanny / Kristen Proby Crossover Collection
Love single dad romances, add the rock star factor and I’m jumping in! Great read!
‘And sometimes in falling, you find your forever.’
All Stars Fall is a fitting title for Trevor and Penelope’s story because if Trevor’s marriage wouldn’t have fallen apart…if Penelope wouldn’t have fallen on difficult times…if they wouldn’t have somehow fallen into a new kind of chaotic normalcy together, regardless of the different worlds they come from and the messy baggage that they carry, especially Trevor, then neither of them would have found their next big adventure or finally realized that all of their falling brought them exactly where they needed to be.
I love that Rachel Van Dyken didn’t portray Trevor as ‘Mr. Mom’, as a father without flaws. His struggles were real and the situations he found himself in with his kids, with his bandmates, with his mixed bag of emotions all illustrated just how much he has endured and continues to deal with since his wife betrayed him and left their children without even looking back.
Penelope is just the ‘nanny’ Trevor and his kids need, and while he won’t admit it out loud, at least not right away, she’s also just who Trevor needs in his life despite the current state of disarray in the Woods’ household. Penelope wanted a fresh start and a new adventure and that’s exactly what she gets in Seaside, Oregon, and while it’s a bit of a push and pull and hot and cold situation for quite some time, it’s beyond apparent just how well Penelope fits into Trevor’s world, even if it’s unlike where she’s from and where she ever thought she would be.
The scenes that Trevor’s kids, Malcolm, Eric, and Bella were in, were my favorite; they did a fantastic job of keeping Trevor and Penelope on their toes but their actions and their attitudes clearly showed just how heartbroken they are over the mom’s abandonment and just how desperate they are for someone to put them first.
I am absolutely loving this crossover collection. Each book is a swoon worthy and steamy read, and I can’t get enough of the amazing characters and the journeys the authors take them on!
4.5 Poison Apples
Seaside Pictures is one of my favorite series by Rachel, don’t worry I have few others. But her stories are like candy, I can never get enough of them. I’ll forever have a love/hate with novellas especially when they’re a part of a series I adore because I’m always wishing for them to be longer. All Stars Fall is one of those examples, loved every minute of this read and it had me wanting to re-read this series!
I love it when a book has a few tropes that I absolutely love like single dad/parent and I’ve been on a rockstar romance kick. And there’s the falling for the nanny, it’s not my favorite trope, but it worked so well in this one.
I’m such a fan when kids are written into books, some authors do it so well and there’s no second guessing this one because hello, Rachel has the sweetest little boy ever. I think she’s got it down. The kids in this one are absolutely adorable and you’ll just love them to pieces.
Ahhh, there’s so much love for Penny and Trevor! They’re seriously the cutest together and perfect for one another. The chemistry is just off the charts between them and they’ve tried the hardest to not act on it. They both brought something different to the story.
Trevor isn’t like other rockstar reads and that’s probably one of the things that drew me in. His kids are his everything and he’d do anything for him. And then adding Penny into the mix so he can get work done, but she couldn’t stop herself from falling in love with them, instantly.
All Stars Fall is probably my favorite in the Crossover series so far! I can’t wait to go back into this series and start reading them again.

Rachel Van Dyken
This is part of the Kristen Proby crossover collection. I have yet to read Kristen’s work, but I’m an avid Rachel reader. This story fit seamlessly into Rachel’s Seaside series, but it can also be read as a standalone. Penny is looking to break up the monotony of her life. Her cousin Dani lives in Seaside, so she decides to head there for a much needed break and change of pace. Trevor is part of the band Adrenaline who is working on new music in Seaside. Reeling from his ex wife leaving him and their three children, Trevor is in survival mode and doing what he can to be there for his kids all while being in one of the most successful bands in the world. As luck would have it, Trevor stumbles upon Penny (the new barista) right when he’s looking for a new nanny. She instantly hits it off with his kids, and he offers her the job on the spot. Penny quickly finds herself fitting into Trevor’s family seamlessly. She adores his kids, and despite her best efforts, she starts falling for Trevor. Can Penny keep things professional when the life she’s always wanted is right in front of her? Can Trevor learn to trust again and open his heart after his ex wife crushed it? This book is sweet, sexy, and so very addictive.
Penny and Trevor light up the pages in Rachel Van Dyken’s newest release All Stars Fall.
Penelope moved to a new town and new job for a change of life, she never expected to become the nanny to the gorgeous and famous drummer from Adrenalin. After Trevor’s ex left him with three kids he needs as much help as he can get, he just didn’t expect to find it from the girl in the coffee shop. What started off as a part time job has grown into friendship, but what happens when the heart calls for more?
Rachel Van Dyken has created a beautiful love story, these characters are everything! I loved seeing some of our favourites from Seaside make an appearance. I truly loved this book and could not put it down. An excellent read and I wish I could give it more than 5 stars.
What a fabulous read from Rachel Van Dyken!
I know that whenever I pick up a book from Rachel, that I am going to be in for a treat. All Stars Fall was certainly no exception, and instead, exceeded all of my expectations.
GAH!! The characters within this novel, are totally and completely swoon-worthy. As soon as you start reading this novella, you will see what a fabulous connection they have. As soon as they meet, you know that what they are going to have with one another by the end of the book is something special. Trevor will definitely steal your heart. Some would say he is a “bad-boy,” others might say he has a “reputation.” The only way I saw Trevor throughout the whole novella, was a kind, caring loving man, who had a heart of gold!
I loved every single detail about this novella. I cannot say enough wonderful things about it. I will definitely be recommending this novella to everyone.
5/5 Stars!
A rock star, a nanny and 3 amazing kids.
” You can’t marry Uncle Drew.”
“Wait , what? Why would I marry Uncle Drew?”
“He called you sexy.” She lowered her voice to a loud toddler whisper. “Sexy! Daddy says that means you have to get married!”
“Oh, honey.” Bless her heart. “Trust me, I’m not marrying Uncle Drew.”
“Oh, good.” She sighed happily. “Because I already prayed that you would marry Daddy, and then there was a shooting stat and Daddy says that means it’s going to happen!”
Bella wishes upon falling stars all the time, will she get her rock star daddy and her nanny together?
Single Dad, Rock Star, Nanny, Seaside
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. As a women who wants but can have kids, I totally related to Penny. As someone who was hurt by her ex-husband, I can relate to Trevor in some ways. I love how easily they fell for each other and how the kids so easily accepted Penny.
While this book is part of, technically, 2 different series it can easily be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone. The dynamic and depth of the characters is well written and easily relatable. I would definitely recommend it to all!
I received a review copy of the book before release for an honest review.
I have read three stories in this crossover collection and this one was my top favorite. It features a HOT, rockstar dad who now lives in Seaside OR and Penny, the nanny he hires to help him with the kids.
It is short about 100 pages but a lot of things happen in this story and the kids are positively adorable. The crossover part is because Penny moves to Seaside from Cunningham Falls and is besties with Hannah in that series.
I absolutely loved reading All Stars Fall by Rachel Van Dyken. It was such a freaking charming story with all the best feels. I loved our heroes, the kids and visiting all friends! This story is part of the Kristen Proby’s Crossover Collection, as well as part of Rachel’s Seaside Pictures series. It is a great read for new and old fans of any author in the collection and especially for Rachel Van Dyken fans.
Penny needed a fresh start somewhere and her cousin suggested Seaside. Which is how she finds herself a barista in a small café in a town full of all the best kind of surprises. Trevor has been adjusting to his new normal since the day his wife left him and their children. But he needs help! Which is how Penny finds herself the new nanny. As she spends time with Trevor and his kids, she finds herself wanting something she can’t have, right?
Trevor and Penny had great chemistry and a connection they could not deny, even if Trevor tried. Trevor may have been a famous musician, but nothing was more important than his children. He was sexy, charming and determined. Penny was fun, caring and feisty. She quickly lost her heart to not only Trevor but his kids too. I loved All Stars Fall by Rachel Van Dyken. It was a fun and light read with very little angst and a whole lot of steamy and sweet!
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
