From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Rachel Van Dyken… her dream had been to marry a rockstar and live the high life.
Moving my recording studio to Seaside Oregon seems like the best idea in the world right now especially since Seaside Oregon has turned into the place for celebrities to stay and raise families in between touring and producing. It would be lucrative to make the move, but I’m doing it for my kids because they need normal, they deserve normal. And me? Well, I just need a break and help, that too. I need a sitter and fast. Someone who won’t flip me off when I ask them to sign an Iron Clad NDA, someone who won’t sell our pictures to the press, and most of all? Someone who looks absolutely nothing like my ex-wife.
He’s tall.
That was my first instinct when I saw the notorious Trevor Wood, drummer for the rock band Adrenaline, in the local coffee shop. He ordered a tall black coffee which made me smirk, and five minutes later I somehow agreed to interview for a nanny position. I couldn’t help it; the smaller one had gum stuck in her hair while the eldest was standing on his feet and asking where babies came from. He looked so pathetic, so damn sexy and pathetic that rather than be star-struck, I took pity. I knew though; I knew the minute I signed that NDA, the minute our fingers brushed and my body became insanely aware of how close he was—I was in dangerous territory, I just didn’t know how dangerous until it was too late. Until I fell for the star and realized that no matter how high they are in the sky—they’re still human and fall just as hard.

You’re going to love it!
I haven’t read anything by Rachel Van Dyken and after this book I’m kicking myself because this book was filled with all the feels! I completely and wholly fell in love with Trevor and Penelope’s story! How could you go wrong with one sexy single rockstar dad of three fiesty, lovable kids? You can’t, just not possible. Trevor and Penelope were two lost souls looking for a fresh start, not expecting to find that start in one another. I can honestly say page after page I was charmed by the kids, entertained by the bandmates and breathless by the relationship that transpired with Trevor and Penelope. Let this story steal your heart like it’s stolen mine!
must read for rockstar romance lovers!
All Stars Fall is a novella in the Seaside Pictures series and it crosses over with Kristen Proby’s Big Sky series. I have loved both of these series and I can kick my own ass for waiting so long to read the book. It’s been sitting in my kindle app since 2019. So many books, so little time. Anyway, I loved it.
Trevor is a single dad to six year old twin boys and a four year old girl. His ex-wife walked away from the family a year ago and hasn’t looked back. He hated her. Not for leaving him but for leaving them. His kids are his everything even if they were a little wild and angry. They are his world. And he needed a new nanny who didn’t just sit on their phone while the kids burned the house down around them. He didn’t expect to find her in a coffee shop but when he knew, he knew. He also knew he was f*cked because she was beautiful and quickly saw that she had a big heart.
Penelope moved from Cunningham Falls to Seaside since her cousin Dani recommended the small town by the sea. She said it would be the perfect place to start over. She wasn’t so sure working at a coffee shop was adventurous but when he walked in she perked up. She didn’t realize it was a man who was on a poster in her bedroom when she was a teenager until a moment before he hired her as his new nanny. Unexpected was an understatement but why not? She loved kids and his seemed to like her.
Omg! I loved these two. They are flirty, hilarious, a little lost, and so sweet. And the kids…I just want to hug them tight. And seeing the rest of the gang was awesome! I love these rock stars.
I Drew too!
Quotes:
Just focus on setting the table.
Not the image of his abs burned into your brain.
Or his wink.
Or the way he wore a shirt.
Lord, have mercy on us mere mortals.
Amen.
“Name?” Drew kept trying and Trevor kept shoving.
I rolled my eyes and hugged Bella tighter. “Sorry. I don’t give my name or number to strangers, right, Bella?”
“Stranger danger nine-one-one!” she shouted.
“Taught her that yesterday.” I grinned and returned his wink.
“This is where I tell you I wish I had met you in a different life.”
“Funny.” She pulled away from me. “Since I was just thinking how lucky I am to meet you in this one.”
Tank is working for the mafia families and the FBI. He’s been doing it for years. Kartini is the daughter of Sergio, one of the bosses and the person Tank is bodyguarding. Tank and Tiny are sparking off one another. The couple fight all the time but an attraction is strong with them. A cute, short story with plenty of action and heat.
Is it possible for a mafia book to be so funny you kind of forget you’re reading a book about Made Men? I’m definitely not complaining!
My first book by Rachel Van Dyken, and definitely not my last, I enjoyed the heck out of Tank De Lange and Kartini Abondonato! The two of them together are sexy AF, snarky as all get out, and seem to enjoy causing each other just a little bit of pain.
I really liked the torment Tank is fighting between the FBI and the Five Families, and that Tiny (Kartini) has a back story that doesn’t include simply being a vapid princess. The fight to come together, the push and pull, forced proximity and enemies (kind of??) to lovers is ALWAYS my jam!
4 stars for Tiny and Tank, I can’t WAIT to continue my foray into getting to know the rest of Rachel Van Dyken’s Made Men!!
I really wish this was a full length novel because I wanted more of Tank and Kartini! This story was classic RVD mafia, with the overprotective dads and funny exchanges. This family cracks me up. I enjoyed this story and wish it was longer!
Such a good novella. Tank has been part of this series for a while now, and he definitely deserved his story. How does an FBI agent toe the line between his loyalty to his job and the family he belongs to? Very carefully!! He’s supposed to keep Kartiny safe which isn’t always easy when she pushes all the buttons. I love the development with these two.
This book awww omg i couldn’t stop smiling. I absolutely loved it. Rachel never cease to amaze me with her writing like she can write a grocery list and i would enjoy it… LOL
Finished this book in jus one sitting in one hour it is that good. The book grabbed me from page one and i can’t begin to explain how much i enjoyed this read. And meeting other Seaside characters was a bonus. I have missed their funny banter and hotness…
Another amazing 5 star winner by RVD
I am a huge Kristen Proby fan, so I have been working my way through the crossover books in her Big Sky series. Rachel Van Dyken is a new-to-me author, so it’s been pushed down my list for a while, but I decided to give it a go yesterday. Hey, I read it in less than 24 hours, so to me, that means that the book was a success! I very much loved the characters- I absolutely LOVED Trevor’s devotion to his kids!! And I loved how attached Penny became with them as well. And I loved Trevor and Penny together, although I do wish there had been a little more.
All in all, I loved All Stars Fall. I will say, this being the first book that I’ve read by Rachel Van Dyken, I missed a lot of the connections with side characters in the book. It, however, did interest me enough that I will most likely go and read the Seaside Pictures series, though!
A cute, sweet, and endearing journey to go on with Penelope and Trevor.
I heard Rachel read a portion of the book at the Lady KC Reading Salon and knew immediately I wanted to read it. It was funny and engaging and I read it in one sitting. I am now going back and reading all of her series leading up to this book.
So excited to head back to Seaside! And All Stars Fall brings back all the fun of the Seaside gang plus the heart of romance with Penny and Trevor.
My heart melted reading Trevor’s story. A single dad who is just trying to make it day by day while his kids are trying to make it through the day without all the emotional damage of their mom leaving. Penelope moved from Montana to Seaside for a fresh start. She never imagined she would be watching the kids of the guy whose poster hung on her wall when she was a teen.
Penny was just what Trevor’s family needed. Her love for Bella, Malcolm and Eric had me in tears. This book is full of emotions and heart and what a great pairing- bringing Penny from Kristen’s world into the Seaside Gang!
Rachel Van Dyken is one of my favorite authors! Her writing is versatile. Mafia, mobsters, rock stars- she writes it all!
I have not read the Seaside Picturesseries yet, and can’t wait to get started! I had no issue following Trevor and Penny’s story. Hot rock star, check. Single dad with cute kids, check. Crazy ex-wife, check. Trevor was all that and more although at times he could be pretty clueless. I loved Penny’s character as well. She is so bright, sweet and caring.
All Stars Fall is a perfect book to read while you sit by the pool or at the beach! Another enjoyable story by Rachel Van Dyken!
My only teeny tiny disappointment was that I thought it would be a little bit steamer but as a novella you can’t have everything. Still a great read!
I am looking forward to checking out other Big Sky novellas in Kristen Proby’s collection! And also looking forward to other Seaside Pictures books!
4 “Falling” Stars
I am a fan of the Seaside gang. Man did I loved this book! Trevor and Penelope story was perfect! This book has all the feels to it. Trevor is a rockstar who recently turned single dad. He is attempting to navigate his new status and his career. Penelope is in Seaside looking for a fresh start. While working at a coffee shop she is offered a nanny position for Trevor. The attraction between them is unbelievable. I loved how well Penelope fit so well with the family and Trevor’s Friends. I loved their story. Great writing and I loved all the things it made me feel. Job well done!
