Some people will do anything for true love — even if they have to fake it.
Jen Maitland had no use for handsome guys with easy charm — until she met Zach. He’s the perfect fake date to end her mother’s matchmaking scheme before it starts. Besides, he’d probably just use her and leave her like her ex-fiancé did. At least that’s what Jen tells herself. The only problem is that Zach isn’t as … as predictable as he appears…
Zach Coxwell hates commitment, but loves a challenge. Like the pretty bar waitress who turned him down flat for a date — only to invite him to her family’s Thanksgiving dinner. Zach knows he can make Jen smile — and he’s betting that he can unravel her mysteries — even if he has to do it over candied yams.
A tofu turkey, a sister who threatens to have Zach’s love-child, the untimely appearance of a knitted avocado — and Zach’s discovery of her real motive — combine to turn Thanksgiving dinner into Jen’s worst nightmare. Zach, on the other hand, has the time of his life. And when he makes Jen smile, he finally finds a commitment he’s willing to make…but persuading Jen to believe him will take everything he’s got.

I enjoyed and could relate as I have had breast cancer. I know you can feel less than attractive. I work at believing I am beautiful and loved as I am a survivor!
Always enjoy a good romance.
To slow. Didn’t like it.
young people need to decide to commit. This plot seemed to say that. I try to ignore parts I don’t like or need.
It was a very sweet book.
Was an easy read with good characters. Subject was current dealing with emotional and physical survival. Got a bit slow in the middle, but ended pretty much as predicted.
Enjoyed this book! Parents can be so meddling that you go out of your comfort zone to try and stop them. Funny and entertaining! I would read it again.
I had trouble reading the book to completion. I didn’t think the main characters had charisma. There was a lot of time when they weren’t together. Those moments didn’t build on their relationship.
Feel good. Light reading
Predictable plot but more interesting than usual characters.
Funny and cute. Loved the characters.
Quirky, funny, moving and endearing. This story had me spellbound. The dialog is rich and fast paced, the protagonists and all of the supporting characters were so well written and fleshed out you feel you know each of them and the story wow…original, romantic and very touching. Can be read as standalone in the series.
This is a great book, loved the characters.
Enjoyable. I will look for more from this author.
Very current and real.
I really enjoyed Zach’s story. I didn’t even realize it was part of a series and I had read book 1, which I also loved.
It was a really fun book. There was a bit too much sex for me though. If they would have had less sexual descriptions, I would have given it 4 stars.
Falling in love so young provides a lot of hurdles and roadblocks not the least of which is failing to follow your heart or your instincts and the quickness to judge and consider any bridge crossed as permanent. So I enjoyed this story and following the righting of wrong choices.
Very entertaining with creative ideas for assisting children cope with difficult circumstances. Heartwarming and nicely done.
I haven’t read any of the other books in this series, so I didn’t know Zach. The author is right though, she said he deserved a “happily ever after” and he did. Nice story line.
