“All Night with the Cowboy” (River Ranch Book 2) by Soraya Lane is a great read. I loved Tanner and Lauren’s story. This was the first time I’ve read this author’s work and it won’t be the last. This story has romance, passion, second chances, hot cowboys, entertaining characters, close family, and more. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens in this series. Highly recommend to all fans of romance, cowboys, second chances, and series.
All Night With The Cowboy is an enjoyable second chance romance and I definitely have a weakness for that trope, add up and injured bull rider and his high school sweetheart becoming the best physical therapist in town and you have me completely smitten.
I liked Tanner and Lauren’s journey, how they both grew up chapter after chapter making hard choices for the future and how they also succed to mend their broken hearts in the process.
What a pleasure to discover a new to me author.
Tanner Ford, former bad boy and Lauren his former high school sweetheart have a second chance.
They reconnect as adults for professional reasons but the chemistry is still there.
The story was a fun, easy read that kept me glued to my kindle. Who doesn’t love a broken heart novel that has a chance to repair? I look forward to seeing what else this author has written.
I do love second chance romances and cowboys, throw in a tropical island setting and some great chemistry and this was an enjoyable read.
Tanner and Lauren lacked nothing in the chemistry department. From their teenage romance days to their tryst on the tropical island, these two were perfect together…if all a relationship needed was chemistry. Unfortunately, their break-up at the end of high school has left Tanner angry and Lauren full of regret, and I had my doubts about these two ever being able to reconcile the past – especially when they “agree” to a no-strings affair while they are supposed to be focusing on Tanner’s therapy and then having a bit of romance find its way into the mix.
I did enjoy this read but found myself frustrated at times with the characters, especially since you knew there were real feelings between them but it was their own stubbornness to address the issues from the past that kept them from a much easier happily ever after. I don’t mind characters having to work for it, but boy did these two makes things hard! I think that caused this book to drag at times for me, mostly when they were on the island where I found myself skipping parts since the love/hate no-strings relationship got a bit tedious, knowing that there was so much more between them than either would admit and confront.
I loved seeing the sweet parts of Tanner come out throughout the book. He’s real and genuine and uses his wealth to help others. And boy did I love him at the end – the reckless boy from his childhood made things right and did so with a grand gesture!
A good read that would be perfect for anyone looking for a bit of angst with a healthy dose of sexy bull-riding cowboy!
I received an advance reader copy from the publisher via NetGalley which I voluntarily reviewed.

Ruthie –
This is the second book in the series, and we get to meet up with Mia and Sam, who star in book one, but as this centres around her brother, Tanner, it is not essential to have read that book first.
Tanner has always done his own thing and resisted all attempts to change his career to something less dangerous than being the best bull rider in the world. Even a serious accident will not deter him – in fact, his stubbornness makes him even more insistent. Little does he realise that his one true (but lost) love will be the PT helping him recover his strength. On an idyllic island in Fiji. Of course, Soraya Lane plots her romances with great skill, and we know that the layers of animosity will need some serious conversations to resolve, but the chemistry is going to burn through any issues they may have about getting all close and personal again!
There is a lot of growing up going on in this story, especially given the protagonists are just entering their thirties. Emotional maturity got stifled by what happened between them at 18, and it is great fun and very hot watching them reigniting the flame, and then deciding what they actually want from each other. Inevitably there are more hurdles to climb, but I love how the story unfurled.
I highly recommend this book to you, it would be perfect beach reading, but also good curled up in front of the fire! An interesting mix of sports, cowboys, and hot romance.

This is Book 2 in the River Ranch series. It can be read as a stand-alone. This is also the first book by this author that I’ve read before. It was a really good book.
Tanner has a career of riding bulls and broncos, but he may have come to an end. He refuses to give up. His family hires Lauren to by his physical therapist. This is good because she’s the best. This is bad because she left him behind years ago. Can he get past his bitterness and move forward? Can she resist him again? The chemistry is still there between them, but do they want to do to anything with it? This was such a good 2nd romance story and you will enjoy reading it. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book that I received from Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
All Night With the Cowboy by Soraya Lane combines some of my favorite things: second chances and beautiful islands (Fiji). Tanner needs the best help he can find to recover from a devastating injury after his last bull ride. Lauren is the best sports physical therapist around. Unfortunately she broke his heart twelve years ago. Tanner’s road to recovery, and the road to healing both their hearts, goes through Fiji where the island works its magic on everyone. This second chance romance is a must read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
I so thoroughly enjoyed reading this second chance love story. I loved the dual POVs. This feature helps me to get into the character and to understand his’ or her’s actions. I really felt for Tanner having the love of his life abandon him. I was glued to my ereader and enraptured in the story. I couldn’t totally understand Lauren’s decision but I continued on. The story does unfold the complete reason behind the ultimatum. I was so glad to have read this. I love reading the angst of second chance lovers coming together again. The reason why they broke up and the coming together again. Ms. Lane nailed it on the head with this one.
Tanner & Lauren had quite a history. Serious until the summer before college & then Lauren unexpectedly breaks up with him. They each go their separate ways & manage to excel in their chosen careers. Now, years later, Tanner has sustained a serious injury & needs a good physical therapist in order to fully heal & get back on the circuit. Tanner’s sister hires the best she can find, Lauren. What follows is two people circling each other, intense sexual tension, bargaining & finally, an agreement that what happens on the island stays on the island.
I really enjoyed this story. The characters were interesting & their interactions illustrated the chemistry between them. Even though this was the second in the series, each book is a self contained story about a different couple. There are appearances from the other characters but the reader won’t feel like they are missing something. The plot was intense & passionate whether the reader is thinking of the relationship between Tanner & Lauren or the battle between Tanner & his family about him continuing on the circuit. I felt this was a great book & would recommend it to those who don’t want their love scenes behind closed doors.
This second chance romance is fun, flirty, and sexy at its best. Tanner and Lauren have chemistry that explodes off the pages and keeps those pages turning. When Tanner is severely hurt while on the rodeo circuit he heads home to heal and though the doctors tell him his career is over he is determined to resume where he left off. He hires the best physical therapist he can find even though it is his long lost love. This is definitely a keeper and a recommended read for this summer!
All Night With a Cowboy is a great second chance with a first love romance with strong, compelling characters that easily draws readers into their story. The romance is sweet and the sizzling chemistry between these two burns red hot with lots of passion but the relationship is an uphill battle as past hurts interfere and emotions run high which keeps readers in suspense until the very end.
I enjoyed reading Tanner and Lauren’s story, they were interesting characters and had a way about them that had sincerity and the passion flowing from the pages. The overall second chance romance was inspirational as well making readers feel good although it was it bit angsty though that was to be expected with of the past hurts this couple experienced and I found that while both characters were stubborn, the author presented in such a way that it wasn’t overdone or too much drama. I haven’t read the first book in the River Ranch series but I had no trouble getting to know Tanner and Lauren as it is a standalone story and I found that Soraya Lane brought her characters to vivid life and made it easy to picture each and every scene with well written descriptions.
3.75 stars–ALL NIGHT WITH THE COWBOY is the second instalment in Soraya Lane’s contemporary, adult RIVER RANCH cowboy, romance series focusing on the Ford siblings. This is professional bull-rider Tanner Ford, and physical therapist Lauren Lewis’ story line. ALL NIGHT WITH THE COWBOY can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. The RIVER RANCH series is a spin off from the author’s TEXAS KINGS series. You do not have to have read the original series to understand or follow the current time line. Some of the characters cross over for cohesion and backstory.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Tanner and Lauren) ALL NIGHT WITH THE COWBOY follows the second chance romance and relationship between professional bull-rider Tanner Ford, and physical therapist Lauren Lewis. Twelve years earlier, Lauren Lewis walked out of Tanner’s life. High school sweethearts, Tanner and Lauren had promised one another the world but Lauren was forced to choose between her career and love, and ultimately her career won out. Fast forward to present day wherein Tanner Ford’s bull-riding days have come to an abrupt stop with possible career ending injuries inflicted during the last World’s Finals. Enter Lauren Lewis, physical therapist, and the woman Tanner can’t stop hating for breaking his heart. What ensues is the acrimonious rebuilding relationship between Tanner and Lauren as they are forced together on a tropical island, and the fall-out as Tanner is unable to let go of the past.
Successful, rich and stubborn, Tanner Ford struggles with his attraction to the woman who destroyed his heart. Together, Tanner and Lauren must ignore the elephant in the room, focusing on healing the numerous injuries, in preparation for Tanner’s return to the bull-riding circuit but working together brings with it the memories of the past, and the overwhelming grief and memories of losing the only woman Tanner would ever love.
Throughout the story there is a definite push and pull between our leading couple. Hurtful words are spoken in haste, only to be compounded by the emotional fall-out of the truth. Maturity level is questionable; Tanner’s bitterness and bellyaching about the past is adolescent forcing Lauren out of his life once again-his constant reminders about how she broke his heart, got old, pretty fast. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
The colorful and energetic secondary characters include Tanner’s siblings Angelina, Mia and her husband Sam, Cody, and their father Walter Ford; Lauren’s sister Hannah, their father, and mother Julie.
ALL NIGHT WITH THE COWBOY is a story of second chances; a rekindling romance that suffers in the face of Tanner’s inability to let got of the past, a hurt inflicted upon his eighteen year old soul that he had never, truly gotten over. The premise is captivating; the romance is heart breaking but passionate; the characters are prickly, spirited and animated.
I enjoyed the novel, the story was engaging, there were emotional scenes, there were sexy, romantic, steamy moments that had me swooning. There were moments of growth and maturing, forgiveness and forgetting.
There were two people, and their families, who truly loved and cared for each other, trying to find a way back to each other, and it wasn’t easy, it didn’t happen overnight, there was work that needed to be done, things that needed to be talked about. And even though there were this amazing chemistry and burning attraction, true adoration, they still had to do the hard things, have the difficult conversations, find the place in their hearts to forgive and forget, and find the desire for compromises and growth.
An interesting novel, a story that is a perfect mix of the raw reality and real life with the fairytale-ish happily-ever-after, that only comes after the hard, rough, and difficult times.
A story where the hero and heroine are truly equal, and I cherished that more than I can express.
~ Four Spoons
It’s the PBR(Professional Bull Riders) World Finals in Las Vegas, Nevada. Last year’s champion Tanner Ford is about to slide down in the shute on the bull he was assigned. He was glad he got to ride Thunder Cat; the ranker the bull the better the chance for a high score and a repeat of the championship. Too bad Thunder Cat is about to spoil that dream. It’s a five second ride and throwing Tanner off is not good enough for this bull. After Thunder Cat bucks him off he stomps on him and gores him. Tanner is now a really beat-up, glad-to-be-alive mess.
Shortly thereafter Tanner is well enough to go home for Thanksgiving. He needs PT really badly. Enter Lauren Lewis, Tanner’s ex-girlfriend and the best sports Physical Therapist around. It’s twelve years after their break-up. Hearts were broken. Can Tanner accept spending time with Lauren who he is assured will get him back in shape to return to bull riding? Can Lauren spend lots of time with Tanner and keep their association professional?
This is a second-chance love story. I was pulling for Tanner all the way. I didn’t quite connect with the heroine, Lauren. The author didn’t quite get me to feel as much sympathy for Lauren as I did for Tanner over the big break-up. She did a good job of making these characters three dimensional but I had trouble getting to like Lauren. The author also spelled out the conflict well, but I found that maybe there was a little too much conflict. The resolution to the conflict finally pulled me in so I did enjoy the HEA in this story. It was also fun to see characters from the first book in this River Ranch series like Tanner’s sister, Mia and her husband Sam again.
All Night with the Cowboy by Soraya Lane
River Ranch #2
Second chance romance genre in which injured bull rider Tanner Ford meeting up with doctor of physical therapy and first love of his life Lauren Lewis – they head off together to an island paradise where she will heal him.
This book had potential but for some reason I had trouble seeing why the two were actually attracted to one another. They were both career driven but their careers were totally opposite to one another and after years apart I am not sure that there would truly be so much chemistry still there for the two of them or why Tanner would still be so angry with Lauren. The reason they broke up is iffy in my mind as another option or two could have been found that would have allowed them to stay together. The two seemed immature at times for their age. I can’t put my finger on why this was not a winner in my estimation but will say it was an okay to good read with plenty of steam between them and a HEA ending.
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC – This is my honest review.

I don’t often read cowboy stories but I was interested in the blurb about this book & I wasn’t disappointed. A page turning read of second chances. The characters are well developed & likeable, their chemistry is very good. I liked that they helped each other & because of this found their previous break up difficult to follow. However if they had stayed together I’d have been denied this enjoyable read. The pace of the story is also well paced & I read into the early hours to finish it. I
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
As much as I enjoyed book one of this series, this one just didn’t do it for me. Injured bull rider Tanner Ford and physical therapist Lauren Lewis were a tad immature for being 30 years old.
These two were HS sweethearts, but due to pressures, Lauren broke up with Tanner without explanations, leaving him heartbroken .
Twelve years later he needs to recover from a fall and his sister , Mia, hires Lauren.
It’s a story about second chances, but I never felt engaged in the plot nor with the characters. Due to respect to the author , I will give it a 3 star.
I was entrusted this copy by Netgalley and jSt Martins Press.
Tanner may come from family with more money than sense but he wants to make his own fame and fortune. Turning his back on the family business he becomes a renowned Bull Rider. But after a decade of success, he takes a fall and needs some physical therapy to get back in the saddle.
But his family get sneaky when it comes to getting him into therapy that he wants to avoid. His ex, Lauren is now a trained therapist but can she put her still simmering feelings for Tanner aside and treat him as just any other patient?
Fiji isn’t the typical location that comes to mind when thinking of suitable places to rehabilitate a Rodeo performer but hey, its pretty, peaceful and powerfully relaxing. There is plenty of passion and a few wrong turns for the former young loves. Great read.
When it comes to Tanner Ford, Lauren Lewis knows she let the best thing to happen to her slip through her fingers, but at the time she felt like it was the best thing to do. She was given a choice, and she made the one that was right for her at the time, but now she realizes it was a huge mistake, one that she has regretted for a long time. But lucky for her, Tanner is back in town, still single, and needs her help, the only problem is he only needs her expertise in sports related injuries…
Tanner Ford has had an amazing career thus far on the rodeo circuit, but his latest injury might just take him out permanently, unless he does something drastic to get his body and mind back on track. So he heads home to heal, and seeks out the best physical therapist he can find, and winds up finding a whole lot more than he bargained for… a gorgeous old flame to be precise! But he’s not looking for love right now, and certainly not with the woman who broke his heart all those years ago!
All Night With The Cowboy is second chance romance at it’s best, with it’s emotionally driven plot, and delightful characters you can’t go wrong with this one!! I have to say I loved this series visit even more than the first, this story line struck a cord with me, had me really feeling the words, and continually flipping the pages… simply said, it was unputdownable!! This beautifully written story is guaranteed make you smile and swoon, inspire a few blushes, and leave your heart happy! Highly recommend you take a chance on it, you won’t be disappointed!!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley, and voluntarily read and reviewed it
Ever had a love that never quite finished? Tanner and Lauren did, they had that explosive love all through high school but just when it was over Lauren broke up with him. Tanner went on the rodeo circuit and made a fortune at it until this last ride that almost killed him. Tanner just wants to get back on a bull but his injuries are so bad he may never get full use again so his sister sets him up with a physical therapist in Fiji, the catch Lauren is the therapist. Having not seen each other for twelve years is gonna be rough but they are both adults. I loved this story and the courage Lauren had to give up the love of her life but get your tissues ready your gonna need them.
