4 When Your Second Chance Almost Falls In Your Lap Stars!!!
I love a great second chance book and this installment of the Man of the Month series by Ms. Kenner is a great second chance story. Selma and Easton had one night together years ago and when she’s ready to sell her distillery to move to Scotland she wants Easton to be her lawyer for the deal. The problem is, the heat they generated the last time they were together is still there!
The problem with this is that Easton is getting to run for a judgeship and having Selma bent over his desk is not the way to get there! But as we all know, best intentions can go by the wayside and with these two that’s a very good thing!!!
With each book I fall more and more in love with The Fix on Sixth and the men we’re meeting with each story.
All Night Long by J. Kenner is the ninth installment of the Man of the Month Series where we see two different people find a chemistry like no other. When Easton is on the fast track of becoming a judge, he knows that he needs a clean image with no distractions and so having his attraction to Selma is one crossroad that Easton has to deal with. What happens when Easton can no longer deny his feelings for Selma? And will Selma run away from Easton or run to him?
As always, Kenner delivers a story full of chemistry, heat, and emotions. So if you are looking for a story where you have a strong independent heroine and a sexy hero, then this book is for you.
Oh how I love second chance love! Easton and Selma are hot! A free-spirit woman and the local attorney looking to become the next judge. They had a history back in college. Now all the feelings come back when she asks for his help with the sale of her company. I loved reading these opposites finding their way back to each other where they belong! Their story is funny, their chemistry is off the charts. I can’t get enough of this series!!!
Wild child Selma turns the world of career driven Easton upside down when she reappears to hire the lawyer many years after a brief hookup neither of them can forget. Her brazen sexuality & unorthodox appearance don’t fit with his conservative political aspirations, but he still craves her. She’s everything he doesn’t want, but might be just what he needs.
In all honesty, I really didn’t care for Selma at first, but once her backstory was explained I warmed to her. The ending was touching and her brother Matthew’s story sound sounds promising.
Meet Mr September: our favorite lawyer Easton! Easton and Selma are a tangling duo of are they/aren’t they and second chances. Selma has had some pretty big bumps on he rough road of life and Easton had everything ripped away at age 13. The two start with a deal for a last fling before Selma moves away. Can Easton convince her to stay?
“For the second time in less than twelve hours, he walked away from her. As far as Selma was concerned, he’d just thrown down the gauntlet.”
This series has been so fun to read! The books are easy to read, short, sweet and sexy! nnd those Men of the Month – smoking!!
Selma Herrington is a free spirit with aspirations of travel, adventure, and a bevy of boy toys to pass the time. Owning the Free-Tail Distillery is great but she’s restless. Time to move on to other ventures. The offer from Penoldi-Gryce to buy it and her brand, might just be the sign she was looking for. But to make this deal work, she’s going to need a lawyer and one name keeps popping up. Easton Wallace. She hasn’t talked to him since their night together nearly a decade ago. Working together on this deal might end up being beneficial for both of them. But, when the terms of their deal conflict with her heart, will she be able to walk away from him when she signs on the bottom line?
Easton Wallace hasn’t talked to Selma since their amazing night together. Now, she needs his help. Striking a mutual agreement, one that brings pleasure along with the sale of her business, sounds like the deal of a lifetime. She’s wild and carefree and a vixen in the bedroom. But he’s running for office and a relationship with her would be scandalous. But, as the contracts are drawn, and the time gets closer for her to leave, can he throw away his chances at his dream job and be with her, or should he let her go to pursue her next adventure? He is sure he loves her, but what will it cost them both if he listens to his heart over his head?
This is such a great series! I love the characters, the couples, and the sexiness!! Can’t wait for the next one!
Selma and Easton’s second chance romance is one of my favorites in the Man of the Month series. Novellas can feel incomplete or rushed sometimes, but All Night Long did not feel that way to me at all. The characters have great chemistry and are both extremely likable. I feel like you get enough backstory on their history together for the story to make sense and flow well. The interaction with the other characters in the series is fun and I enjoyed the storyline.
This can be read as a standalone, and I would recommend you pick it up, even if you haven’t read the other stories in this series yet.
I enjoyed All Night Long, the ninth book in the ‘Man of the Month’ series by J. Kenner. It was a second chance romance between free-spirited Selma, a tattooed distillery owner and staid lawyer and soon to be judge, Easton. They had one night together several years ago and although they’d both moved on,neither had really forgotten about it.
When Selma seeks out Easton’s help in selling The Free-Tail, it brings back memories of that night.
But, as a political figure, Easton has to be careful, and Selma certainly doesn’t fit the generic picture of a Judge’s partner. She’s too sexy, too wild… too much to forget, never mind let go again.
Can the stick in the mud sexy lawyer let his hair down?
Will Selma be able to curb her OTT style. Should she?
I loved watching this story unfold, and as always, the characters lead the way.
Grab this one today.
Selma and Easton couldn’t be more different from each other, not only because he needs a ‘clean image’ to win the local judge’s seat, which means he can’t dirty himself up by giving into his attraction for the sexy vixen, but also because the straight-laced and buttoned-up lifestyle that Easton lives isn’t conducive for a free-spirited, independent, and outgoing woman like Selma.
But while Easton’s logical side knows the complications that would arise if he took Selma on as a client but more importantly as the woman on his arm and in his bed, his heart and his body wants him to give into his once dormant feelings for Selma and get her to see just how good they could be together despite the fact that their future plans might be altered or that Selma isn’t known to stay in one place too long because when the spirit moves her, she finds her next big adventure, which, this time around, would mean that Easton, once again, becomes only a memory.
It’s so easy to see just how much chemistry and attraction there is between Easton and Selma, but they have to get out of their own way if they want anything more than a sexual relationship from this second chance. And while these two are definitely opposites in a lot of ways, they complement each other and allow one another a chance to see all that life has to offer instead of remaining solely focused on one aspect of their life because it seems that’s all they’ve ever known.
Selma is a great heroine – one whose upbringing led her to take control of her own life, calling the shots on everything, but somewhere between declaring her independence and ensuring that she lives life on her own terms, she’s lost sight of the bigger picture, which is exactly what Easton helps her with when he finally realizes that appearances aren’t everything and the ‘right’ job may not be the best choice in the end.
Mr. September definitely doesn’t disappoint and the woman he wants and perhaps even needs dirties him up in all the best ways.
4 Poison Apples
All Night Long written by J. Kenner
5 Mouthwatering Stars
“…if you thought there was going to be more than a fast, fun time, then that was your misinterpretation. Not mine.”
I don’t know how she did it again. If you’ve read my other reviews for The Man of the Month Series you know that J. Kenner keeps upping her game and giving me a new favorite calendar man. However…I think the woman in September makes him truly shine as a better man. Confidence is sexy and I think they bring that out in each other.
“I wear designer suits on my body by day and gorgeous women on my arm at night.”
This book makes you want to revisit your journey through life. Just because you’re successful or following a plan doesn’t mean it’s the right plan for you. There may be another road you were meant to travel that makes you feel alive each day.
“… a strict no-return policy with men.”
Although I felt the serious undertones in this book do not think you will miss out on the fun, flirty, friendships, jealousy or steamy moments J.Kenner always dazzles us with. You will not be disappointed with Mr. September.
“This is just you and me. No contracts. No rules. Our way, whatever we want that way to be.”
I can’t wait to sit down with Mr. October in the next book of the series~In Too Deep.

Mr. September is in the house!
Hot and cold temperatures to decipher in All Night Long by the famous J. Kenner makes for an intriguing read. As always the Man of the Month books are quick, smooth flowing, easy to digest and addictive reads. Kenner is the fabulous writer who you yearn to pick up and just know you will have a great novel to devour. Within this series, I have enjoyed that each book is a different trope which keeps you on your toes.
Easton has a massive twist of his boxers and needs an unwind of life. As an attorney, he wants to gain a seat as a judge, but that means his image needs to be perfect. When Selma comes waltzing back into his life for his help he struggles with what’s right and what’s acceptable. Can Selma, the free spirited, whimsical female unwind his straight-laced tie or is the judge seat too important over his heart?
“I’m a leaf on the wind, and I want to see where the breeze takes me next.”
As a fan of second chance romances, I was nervous to dive into this short little novel, but Kenner wrote beautifully as always, however, I felt there was too much law-jargon for me and for some reason, too much ‘filler’ words. Mr. September was just not for me I guess, but don’t let it stop you from experiencing him. All books are standalone, but to fully grasp all characters who flow throughout the novels, it’s best to begin at the beginning.
Selma has a wonderful business but wants to sell it so she can travel. When a friend refers her to Easton for legal advice about deal to sell her distillery. Easton and her shared their bodies but when Selma started to feel something she left. Now here they are again, will their chemistry start again? Will Easton be strong enough to resist her? Will this only be a few nights or can they make it to forever? Will Selma sell her business?
September Man of the Month keeps getting hotter and hotter!
Easton and Selma’s story will draw you in from the beginning. Easton and Selma had a passionate time 10 years ago. Now, Selma needs his help. Can they stop letting the past influence their future?
Another amazing story from J. Kenner, cannot wait for October!
Selma is not a shy woman, “she stood up, her wet, naked body gleaming. “I’ll find another damn attorney.” With a violent yank, she wrapped the towel around her and climbed out of the tub.” There are times Emerson voices what he wants, “…she texted him pictures of bats. He called her on the phone within seconds. “Bats? I was hoping for breasts. Yours, actually.” I liked this book, I fell in love with Emerson
Oh, I love a good second chance romance! And that’s just what we have with Easton and Selma in All Night Long.
Selma is a tatted up, freewheeling, grossly independent woman. She owns her own business—a whiskey distillery, does what she wants when she wants and really doesn’t care what anyone thinks of her. She’s living her life exactly how she wants to—on her own terms.
Easton is setting himself up to run for a local judge seat. By day, he’s a highly sought out attorney, by night he’s out meeting people and kissing babies. Sure, he always thought he’d open his own firm one day, but being a judge is better, right?
Well, that’s Easton’s train of thought until Selma bursts back into his life—she needs his legal expertise. He needs her back in his bed. Win-win, right?
I really enjoyed this ninth book in this fabulous Man of the Month series. And I really liked this romance between Easton and Selma. They brought out the best in each other—made the other see there was more to life that what they thought they wanted. That sometimes the greatest risk to take was to fall in love.
Final Score – 4 Stars!
The latest in the Man of the Month series focuses on carefree Selma and uptight Easton.
Easton is an attorney who is vying for a Judge position an upcoming election. Selma owns her business. Not one to tied down for too long, her restlessness kicks in around the same time another company is looking to buy her business. Needing an attorney who will look out for her best interest and get her a good deal, she turns to Easton for help, but he’s not interested. Seems that Easton and Selma have unfinished business with each other. The two had a one night stand years ago which they haven’t forgotten. Both want a repeat but not a relationship.
This was very short, very to the point and very hot! These two steam up the pages of this story. I’m really enjoying this series, but was hoping for a bit more of Selma and Easton – I don’t think these two are quite done. Hopefully there will be a closure book coming at the end of the series which will catch us up on all the couples from the previous stories.
This has been my favorite in the series. I finally felt like I got a full story in this novella. I like this series, but I always struggle a little bit with novellas because I feel like there is always so much left to tell. Easton and Selma’s second chance romance, to me, was a full story and I loved it.
Selma is confident and doesn’t need any man in her life. That’s why she walked away from Easton years ago. She knew that if she didn’t she’d want to keep him in her life. Now she has entered his world once again and she doesn’t want to leave. Easton knows that there couldn’t be a worse time to pick things up with Selma, but he’s drawn to her like he’s never been to anyone else.
This is a full story in a small package and I couldn’t put it down. Loved watching Easton mess it up and having to grovel. Great read!
Selma Herrington is a free spirit who is restless in her current position and feels like it is the perfect time to make a change. There is an offer to buy her brand but she will need a lawyer to make all her dreams come true and it seems to be Easton Wallace is that man!
Easton hasn’t spoken with Selma in quite few years…after their one night stand. Now, Selma needs his help so Easton decides that they can both benefit from a mutual agreement. However, she’s a wild child and he’s running for office. A relationship with her would not be in his best interest.
This was a really great book. I loved Selma and Easton and the relationship between the two of them. They were fun and super sexy! Another great Man of the Month!
A new book and a new smokin hot Man of the Month! This series gives us a collection of short stories filled with tough choices and the sweetest HEAs. In this book we get Easton and Selma’s story and it is a story of facing your fears and second chances. Ithis coupled is one of my favorites so far and I can’t wait to read the next couples stories!
Easton is an upcoming and coming attorney on the fast track of becoming a judge. He is following his path, setting out to do what he has wanted to do since he was little. He has no time for distractions and works to hard to protect his reputation.
Selma is a wanderer. She comes from a rough past and is determined to get out before she can get hurt. She is looking to sell her distillery and move on to new things, but first she needs a lawyer.
Easton has never forgotten about the one night he shared with Selma and still doesn’t understand why she walked away. Selma has never been able to completely forget about Easton but she is isn’t looking to settle down. When these to meet to try and form a business relationship, the only feelings start to sneak up on them. But how can two people headed in completely different directions possibly make it work?
Let me first state that I don’t think the first two lines of summary describe Easton at all. This book seemed a little shorter compared to others, but still flowed well. Just like “Turn Me Own,” very little of the story takes place at the bar and very few characters from the series make an appearance. While Selma is knew to us, we’ve been getting snippets of Easton since the beginning. It’s a solid addition to the series, but I thought we were going to get more steamy scenes based on the epilogue from “Shake It Up”.
