If you’re a dinosaur, all of your friends are dead. If you’re a pirate, all of your friends have scurvy. If you’re a tree, all of your friends are end tables. Each page of this laugh-out-loud illustrated humor book showcases the downside of being everything from a clown to a cassette tape to a zombie. Cute and dark all at once, this hilarious children’s book for adults teaches valuable lessons … about life while exploring each cartoon character’s unique grievance and wide-eyed predicament. From the sock whose only friends have gone missing to the houseplant whose friends are being slowly killed by irresponsible plant owners (like you), All My Friends Are Dead presents a delightful primer for laughing at the inevitable. Plus, this is a fixed-format version of the book, which looks nearly identical to the print version.

This book was a surprise–it has only a few pages! It is more of a children’s book, but the quips are very funny. It took about three minutes to read, but it was light-hearted and fun!
Hilariously accurate. I like that it touches on a little bit of everything, not just the dinosaurs. Best 5 minutes of my day so far (its been a bad day).
All My Friends Are Dead by Avery Monsen and Jory John – I let TikTok read me a bedtime story again! And while this is not a book you should read to a child, as an adult I loved the dark humor! Happy Reading!

Absolutely hilarious and really gives you the feels all at the same time. Brilliant.
Not quite what I expected, but offered a few pithy observations on the topic. Good for a few laughs and a few witty statements to add to my conversations on life.
This is an adult book written like a children’s book. Very cute and funny.
This is a funny little book, good for a laugh. It begins with “All my friends are dead,” and continues from there.
Not a fan.
Cute dark children’s book.
loved it
Not worth the read
Needed a laugh and this filled the bill.
It was a children’s book!!!!!!!Not that entertaining.
A quick 5 minute read. Fun, clever, and entertaining.
This was a bunch of slightly amusing quips with pictures. Took about five minutes to read and not much reward.
and a good teaching tool too
I thought this was a children’s book. Very disappointed!
All my friends are dead by Avery Monsen and Jory John is described very well on the Amazon book page as a “children’s book for adults.” It is hilarious and a great weekend break although it can be read any time you want to have a fun, positive start to your day. At only forty-eight pages and only USD 0.99, this is a good investment of time and money. The illustrations will amuse adults and children. Depending on the age of the children, this book provides many prompts for discussion. Why is the sock lonely? This minor, vexing, annoying problem may not seem important to children. They know the sock’s partner will eventually return to life. Why do parents get so upset?
Illustrations are the presentation in this book. The text is spare and to the point until page 44, a page that sets up the conclusion and completes a circle. The book is almost as short as this review but the book is far more inspiring and impressive. I highly recommend this for adults (the humor) and children. And if your kids don’t understand all the referenced issues, grab the opportunity for meaningful discussion. Page fourteen all by itself is worth thoughtful discussion with the next generation.
I read and enjoyed this illustrated book on my laptop with the Kindle application. I was also able to read it on my handphone. I mention this because I have had problems in the past when trying to read illustrated novels on mobile devices. This book is fun everywhere.
My kid tells me to read this book to her all the time.
