A stand-alone novella with international passion, from USA Today bestseller Angel Payne! Some would call it sacrilege.I’m living in Paris for a whole month. The city of light and lovers—and the home of the newest jewel in the Avanti nightclub empire, where I’m gigging as its grand opening DJ. I’m living a dream, but I don’t want it. I’m only in this for the huge paycheck, and if I’m lucky, I’ll … I’m lucky, I’ll forget I’m in the same city as the father who walked out me years ago. I’m only interested in the music and the money.
But fate’s set up a different plan.
Out of all the nightclubs in the city to invest in, Lucien Paget picked Avanti. Now, the billionaire with the gaze of a demon and the body of an archangel has decided on a new challenge for himself. Me.
It’s pretty hysterical, this little “offer” of his—made even funnier by the money he insists on throwing behind it. But it’s his fortune, and if he wants to invest it in a few dates with me, who am I to argue? He probably thinks his impossible beauty and debonair charm will topple me into true love. Well, the joke’s on him.
Then why am I not laughing?

ok so this may have been a short book of 126 pages, but they were pages that I cannot say enough good things about! Angel Payne has blown me away yet again! Simply flawless writing that completely moved me. This short romance took two characters from very different worlds and threw them together and their chemistry and lust couldn’t keep them apart. Can anyone resist a sexy, powerful frenchman, well Juliette can’t! Their time together in Paris is completely dominated by their inability to keep their hands off each other pr their hearts from falling. Each time they are together they fall deeper and deeper, leaving no room to think, only to feel. In short, they are so hot together they can’t even get through bike ride to a sweet afternoon picnic without ditching the bikes and literally jumping each other in the bushes! This high heat romance will draw you in from page one and it will keep hooked and HOT to the very last! Angel please, PLEASE continue Juliette and Lucien’s love story!!!!
An AMAZING 5 Star read!!
I loved this book so much. It was truly a love at first sight kind of book. I love the MACRON references. If you have read Angel’s Bolt books, macrons was mentioned a couple of times. I also loved the pop culture references. I loved Juliette and Lucien’s story so much. I’m not-so-secretly hoping that we can get more backstory books for Juliette, her family, and her past with Pak. I’d also like to see a story for how Lucien became so successful in his career!
First things first..
I NEED MORE.
This was a surprise, and I was giddy as hell when I heard the author was going a surprise release. I didn’t know what to expect, to be honest, and this book isn’t like most of her others, yet it’s just as incredible. The author is known for her saucy, hot, action-packed series, such as Bolt Saga and Honor Bound, well this was completely different… it was an insta love between Lucien and Juliette.
The story is based in Paris, where Juliette goes and DJ’s for a month at a big club opening. She didn’t go there looking for love, she didn’t go there looking for anything, not even her dead beat dad that walked out on her growing up that was in the same city. She went for her job and to get cash from that gig. But, things turn a different direction the moment Lucien waltzes into the night club she’s DJing in and he lays eyes on her, he immediately knew he wanted her and he was willing to do what he could to have her and he had the means and the money to do just that and what starts off an intense, fun, hot and crazy insta love story.
I went into this book blind and not knowing what to expect, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Which is no surprise. This author cannot write a bad book, in my opinion. There were parts of it that made me laugh harder than most people would because I had a feeling she’d used the references for that reason. She weaves in a modern day pop culture feel to it and bought to life two amazing characters that bounced off each other perfectly, and I couldn’t help but root for their relationship to succeed. This gem lacked for nothing, it was the perfect amount of heat, passion, drama, and I even felt a little angst in there.
What I didn’t like? Well, that’s simple, the fact that it’s only one book! I need more, I want to know more about each of these characters and what and how they are the way they are, their past, their present, and their future, I really hope Ms. Payne ventures on to add to this standalone. These two have captured my heart and I hope to see more of them!!
5 stars!
