Romance, Christmas, and a sprinkle of fantasy, what more could you wish for during the holiday season? I love the holidays, my to-read list is currently filled with books that give me a warm holiday feeling, and some rom-com Christmas too. So when I saw the cover and read the title of the book, I decided I had to read it.
“All I Want for Christmas is a Faerie Assassin?!” is what I wanted and needed this time of year. It is a short, funny, and cutesy romance. The story starts with Charlotte, a woman who needs a decent boyfriend for once and struggles to find a gentleman-like boyfriend to spend family and work events with during the holidays.
Bain is a faerie assassin. I love the description of this inhuman character. And the blue hair and eyes, just my style. I had blue hair once, so I love to see and read about a character with such an amazing hair color!
The book brought me into a romantic and magical holiday mood. Perfect to read during the holidays or any time of year when you earn for the holiday season.
It also made me interested in reading more about the fae. I haven’t stumbled onto a good book on that subject before, but H.L. Macfarlane made me a fan of the fantastical world that fae inhabitants. I will read more from her soon!
I recommend this book for everyone who is into a short, sweet holiday rom-com with a touch of fae.
I never knew I needed a holiday book with a foul mouthed faerie assassin until now. I absolutely loved this book so much! The characters were wonderful and I found myself laughing and grinning like an idiot throughout this book. The ending was perfect and I will be checking out more of this author’s work! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
A quick and fun read.
A faerie assassin for Christmas? Definitely not what Charlotte was expected. Well, really she didn’t expect anything when she performed a ritual from an old book of faerie tales. This spin on being careful what you wish for is quick and entertaining. My one complaint is that while Charlotte’s character was well developed, I felt that Bain could have been a little better fleshed out. Even so, I believe readers will enjoy the tale.
Whoever knew that begging for a boyfriend until the end of the year would get you a fairie assassin. Desperate to have a boyfriend that isn’t one of her recent string of losers, she uses her grams fairytale book.
When Charlotte decides she is desperate enough to try to summon a fairy; because they don’t exist, to help her have a perfect boyfriend for the end of year festivities. She summons Bain, an assassin fairy, who comes wondering who he is supposed to kill. All Charlotte wanted was someone to deal with her family from Christmas thru New Years.
Bain was upset to learn who Charlotte was working for because he forced Bain to take a life on a baby in utero. Bain tried to save Charlotte from her boss, and even from herself.
Will Bain get revenge on Charlotte’s boss? Will Bain and Charlotte fall in love? Will Charlotte fall for her boss? There are too many choices to give them away.
This is a quick read and you will love it from beginning to end.
She is getting fed up of being single at Christmas that she uses a spell to get one. He appears and asks her who he is to kill, he is assassin but she just wants a date. In one sense he is happy as he has problems with. Will they get on? Will he get what he wants? See if things go right

I love this author and her fractured fairytales. This book is fun and though short (I love short stories), packed with a fun story, action, and great characters. I was a bit taken aback by the faery language but lived through it. A great read for me.
