From New York Times bestselling author, J. Daniels, book two in the Alabama Summer series.
**Author’s Note** All I Want is a standalone novel, but to fully appreciate the f****ed-up mess that is Luke & Tessa, pick up Where I Belong first.
Luke Evans is a heartbreaker.
I didn’t want to give mine to him. Not when he kept me out.
He gave me enough, just enough to make me fall in love with … kept me out.
He gave me enough, just enough to make me fall in love with him. I say this to convince myself. But I know the truth.
I would’ve fallen in love with him at a distance.
Handing my heart over to Luke was the easiest thing I’ve ever done. I was naive when I wished for more, when I hoped he wanted the same things I did.
I try to hate him. I try to forget him.
But it’s not that easy.
Love is a ruthless bitch, and I’m her latest victim.

Tessa Kelly is a man-eater.
When she sets her sights on you, she doesn’t just consume your heart, she goes for your soul.
What we had was perfect, real, and all I would ever want.
But she destroyed it.
She destroyed us.
I try to hate her. I try to forget her.
But it’s not that easy.
Love is for people who have hope, and I have none.

Luv Tessa.
Ive been looking forward to reading this book. After getting a lil of Tessa and Luke in the first book. I was dying to know what was goin on between them. There relationship is crazy they both fancy the pants of each other and sexual they are so hot together. But there is just something missing. After what happened between them it wasn’t goin to be good things didn’t end good. But with all there friends in the same circle they were alway to be around each other. This just made things hard for them. They both just needed to get there head out of there backsides. I did feel sorry for both characters. Tessa didn’t know where she stood with Luke she wanted more from him but he just couldn’t open up to her and he wouldn’t end of story. I did was to slap Luke in parts of this book. He was so annoying he just needed to open up to her she was there for him she luvd him. But Luke’s life isn’t easy I understand that but he needs to have someone to help him through everything and Tessa is the perfect person.
I enjoyed this book and series so far, I would recommend it. The characters are really good I luv Tessa she is a great. I just wanted to hug her throughout this book she just needed it. I do like a second chance romance it one of my favourites and this was great. I looking forward to more of this series. Reeds book is goin to be so good I need to know more about this guy.
A great story but the constant back and fourth between Luke and Tessa is the main reason why I give it four stars. Otherwise I enjoyed the story all though it could have been shortened.
Tessa and Luke are avoiding each other since they broke up, but they still want each other and try to deny it and make each other jealous. Luke decides that he can’t keep going on seeing Tessa all the time and decides to take the promotion he is offered, but he doesn’t tell Tessa.
Tessa tries online dating and that doesn’t end well, Tessa still wants Luke to let her in, she wants all of him and after giving him a chance to answer five questions and he won’t she’s decided that she’s done.
Luke knows that he has to do everything to convince Tessa that she’s meant to be with him, and he chooses a party where she has a date, she lets him know she loved him, yesterday, but not today.
Luke tries to give Tessa something, but he knows it’s not enough for her, Luke makes a decision, and tells Tessa while she’s sleeping that it’s going to kill him, but the guy from tonight seems decent, then he lets her know he loves her before calling and accepting the job.
Tessa wakes up realising that she shouldn’t have pushed Luke, she loves him and that’s enough, and he’ll never be alone again, then she finds out he’s gone, is she too late.
Loved Nolan he does what his Uncle Wuke asks, and squeezes Tessa with everything he has – I’m supposed to give you hugs when you’wre sad. I forwgot. Then Nolan says what they all know – I think Uncle Wuke is sad to.
When Luke gets a visit from his father and is told his little spit-fire of his came to see him and what happened, he listens to a voice message from her and it kills him, Mia messages telling him he broke her friend and needs to get back there. Will it all be enough for Luke to see that she’s all he’s wanted.
I made a mistake and read the less than favorable reviews regarding this book. I was already in love with the previous book, so I should have just rolled with the book high I was on and not read the negative opinions.
There’s a thin love between love and hate.
You can hate the person you love for making you feel the things you are not ready to feel.
Luke shuts Tessa out. Yet, he wants her. She’s all he wants… all he has to do is ask.
Holy-angst-heart-breaking feelings!! When you meet Luke and Tessa in Where I Belong you can tell their story will NOT be easy. It’s not even gentle, not even a little bit. All the emotions floating between Luke and Tessa will get under your skin. It’s going to heart. But Ms. Daniels makes the hurt feel good. Also, insanely sexy. I read the book in a day because I was afraid I would lose the connection unfolding.
I’m loving this series and I can’t get enough. I’m anxious to dive into the next book. So yes, I continue to recommend this series and become an addict like the rest of us.
I loved this one so much, I bought every book in the series!
I really liked the first book in the series, Where I Belong, and it only got 4.5 stars. This book was so good! It made me cry, and feel, and love. And it was sexy. It was nice getting to see the characters from the first book as they were moving on with their lives. As I mentioned in my review of the first book, pretty sure this is a auto-buy author for me now! After I finish the rest in this series.
Wow! Tessa and Luke’s story is really, REALLY emotional and intense. At times, it felt like a dance on a volcano. Their chemistry is stellar … So are their problems. There are trust issues and a lack of communication, to name just two.
I had to stop reading time and again to digest the content and calm down.
It’s a page-turner you don’t want to miss.
*5 Stars*
The good thing about making time for yourself to read more of your backlog of books on your kindle, is that you remember how good some of the authors you’ve discovered are. I’ve loved everything I’ve read by J Daniels so far, and this was no different.
Whilst I didn’t really like how plain harsh and rude Tessa and Luke were with each other, I was still hooked on this story. I couldn’t remember much from the first book, because its been ages since I read it, but it’s written as a standalone in the series, so that didn’t matter.
I really wanted to whack these two upside the head, and make them just TALK to each other. I was so frustrated with them at times. Whilst this wasn’t crazy angsty, it was still frustrating enough haha. I liked the versions of these two that I saw at the end, not the ones at the start so much.
Can’t wait to continue this series and see how things play out with everyone. Definitely keen for a book about Reed.
This was my favorite Bama boys book to date! Such a good book! Must read!
Love it.
All I Want- J Daniels- Wow this was quite the story. Luke Evans is definitely a heartbreaker, he is a cop and girls just chase after him. Tessa Kelly is a maneater. They broke up a year ago and neither can get the other out of their minds. Luke is sleeping with anyone to get rid of her memory and Tessa wont let anyone in. Luke and Tess are strong passionate people his past is really keeping them apart. Very intense story but so good.
I love J Daniels!
I’m loving reading this series. The books make you wonder, cry, smile and sigh. what more could you want?
4.5 stars
Oh Tessa & Luke…..these two had such passion and intense chemistry between them, but something was always holding Luke back. He didn’t want to be a burden on her with things going on in his life, and all she wanted to do was love him and be there for him. Luke moving away was pretty dumb, but sometimes we don’t always think clearly. Staying and fighting for what we truly want may be the harder choice, yet we do the opposite thinking it’s best for the one we are trying to protect. So thankful that Luke & Tessa were able to find there way back to one another, as I don’t think I could see them with anyone else.
Wonderful series! Love them all! Highly recommend
A entertaining read.
Gosh I really thought I was going to love this book because I really liked Tessa in the first book. And Luke, don’t even get me started on that hunk of a man.
I was actually pretty disappointed because Tessa acted like a crazy nympho the entire book. She is the definition of extreme and the theatrics. I understand that she loves Luke and all that, but the insane blind dates just to get laid and trying to see other people was bugging me. Even Luke was annoying me too. They were together then they weren’t. I’m all for “you want each other so much you literally can’t keep your hands off the other person” but it was too much. I felt like Tessa’s motivations were a little too sex driven. The girl had zero will power to turn down Luke. I would have like a bit more resistance when he messed up and left her crying and heartbroken.
I did not totally dislike this book. I liked that we still get to see a some of Mia ad Ben. Oh and lets not forget the very cute Nolan. Tessa is still a funny character who says the most outlandish stuff. I like a feisty girl with a mouth on her and that’s exactly the type of person Tessa is. It did not disappoint in the hot and steamy department that’s for sure. The ending was very good.
I had high hopes for this book because I loved the first one so much. I much rather see Tessa as just a side character, but I did like Luke a lot and hearing his POV though.
Luke and Tessa…just shaking my head at these 2 stubborn people!
All I Want is a bit different from Where I Belong, the first book in the Alabama Summer series. It’s grittier, dirtier, angstier (yes, I made that word up)…you could pretty much tell from the difference in this cover that this one was going to be a little tougher.
We met these 2 in Where I Belong…Tessa is Mia’s bff and Ben’s brother; Luke is Ben’s partner. They had a fling, Tessa had a pregnancy scare, didn’t tell Luke, he found out, things got ugly.
The beginning of this book starts ugly, with Luke manwhoring it up, and Tessa doing her best to keep up. God these 2, both so stubborn and frustrating! You knew the love was still there between the 2 of them, they just needed to open their hearts to each other for Pete’s sake, and let things out!!!
Lots of strong feelings throughout this book, I was really rooting for these two to get their acts together!
This was an excellent book, love the cast of characters, the writing, the emotions. Looking forward to getting more Reed!
