Welcome to the Historic McMurphy Hotel and Fudge Shop–where life is sweet, revenge is sweeter, and murder is here to to stay. . .You Can’t Fudge An AlibiAllie McMurphy is up to her neck in renovations at the grand old hotel that’s been in her family for generations. With its quaint Victorian charm–and world-famous fudge shop–the place is one of Mackinac Island’s most beloved landmarks. Sure, … most beloved landmarks.
Sure, every family has a skeleton or two in the closet. But Allie didn’t expect to find an actual corpse inside hers, especially one Joe Jessup, who had a long-running feud with her dear departed grandfather. Which makes Allie the number-one suspect.
Can she sniff out the culprit before another victim checks in?

What can be more fun than a book about an island a fluffy dog and fudge? I have always wanted to visit Mackinac Island and now even more so that I have heard about all the different kinds of fudge they have there. This was a fun mystery and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
What a wonderfully fun new series I have just stumbled upon. If you like fudge and sweet summer locales with a bit of murder this is the series for you.

Check out Nancy Coco’s new, cozy series set in Michigan. Love the small town flair and the adorable dog, Marshmallow. And who wouldn’t love all the fudge shops in this little community!
What a fun and interesting whodunit! It’s set on Mackinac Island, a place I’ve always wanted to visit. I enjoyed meeting Allie, her puppy Mal (Marshmallow), and the other residents on the Island. With several possible suspects, the story kept me guessing until the end. Excellent start to a new series.
Loved this quick read.
The characters were very real and the plot was well written. The author had me guessing to the end.
I have thoroughly enjoyed all the Fudge books by Nancy Coco. She keeps me engaged. It is hard to put these books down.
Read out of order however this just is a fun series and really enjoy the characters. The mystery was great fun – the island sounds heavenly….
I read this book after having read Fudge Bites (a later book in this series) and actually liked this one more! This book escapes the typically insufferable first-in-series curse of spending so much time on foundation and telling us the backstory that it takes forever to get to the story. This book doesn’t do that–it jumps right into the story, …
This is a really cute, laugh-out-loud cozy mystery!
Allie McMurphy is back in her favorite place after the death of her grandfather. She had been preparing for her whole life to take over running the historical hotel and fudge shop. She has to take over sooner than she thought due to her grandfather’s death. When she finds someone else dead in a …
If you’re looking to start trying out the cozy mystery genre, this is a great one to jump into.
It has a great narrative with a fair bit of humour mixed in, the absolute most darling and adorable puppy in all of literature (it’s true, I don’t make the rules), and a superb mystery.
There were often times I was stumped about where everything was …
loved this series – looking forward to the next book
At first I didn’t really care for it but the last few chapters were much better.
Wonderful murder mystery totally keeps you guessing. it was suspenseful, exciting, scary but with a touch of romance and lots of fun. Great story
Last week was ice cream and this week was fudge. Sounds like my last vacation. In any case, my local library was highlighting this book for its Michigan flavor: a murder mystery set in a Mackinac Island fudge shop.
That is, Allie McMurphy has just inherited a Victorian inn and attached fudge shop from her recently deceased grandfather when she …
