All Fired Up by Lori Foster is the third contemporary romance book in the Road to Love series. It worked well as a standalone novel. The novel also has an extra layer of suspense in it so, to me, it falls into a version of a romantic suspense novel.
When Charlotte Parrish has car trouble, she is accosted by a drunk leaving a nearby bar. A stranger, Mitch Crew, comes to her rescue. He has come to town looking for his half-brothers who he has never met. When his past catches up with him and Charlotte and Mitch start falling for each other, the heat and the suspense builds to a satisfying conclusion.
Foster does a great job of building up to a steamy romance as well as plenty of suspense and action. The well-developed main characters are compassionate, strong and personable. Foster does a great job of including elements of a family drama in the book in addition to the romance and suspense. At times, it is steamy, heart-breaking, heart-warming, humorous, and tender.
I have only read one other book by this author, but I am looking forward to reading more. If you like a well-written romance with some suspense and family drama, then this may be the book you have been seeking. I definitely want to read the first two books in the series.
Many thanks to Harlequin – Romance (US & Canada) and Lori Foster for a digital ARC of this novel via Net Galley and the opportunity to provide an honest review. Opinions are mine alone and are not biased in any way.
When Mitch came to Red Oak it was just to meet step brothers Brodie and Jack but when he was on his way into a bar to ask about them he saw her..Charlotte. Charlotte was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen but out of his league being he was a ex con it didn’t stop him from defending her. In doing so he got to meet his brothers and their mother Ros who all worked for Mustang transport and were shocked to see the family resemblance but Charlotte felt something for Mitch right away that she never felt with any other man.
No matter how Charlotte or Mitch feel someone is trying to take down Mitch and everyone he cares about but they won’t do it straight on they will try and catch them off guard. This book had a lot of family and some danger but the feeling of acceptance was the best part. Loved Charlottes character as she was so steady and understanding.
Reviewed on behalf of Once upon an Alpha
Wow!!! Very well written, romantic suspense. Love Mitch & Charlotte, this just flows so well that it kept me glued to the pages and just seems real. The characters have depth and the plot is not rushed. They are totally opposite yet still have some similarities, Mitch is a loner by choice, Charlotte is a loner by lack of chance. He is all alpha yet she is feisty and bold enough to stand up to him. I haven’t read any of the others in this series yet but LOVE this loving, compassionate, forgiving and loyal family circle! Very touching & suspenseful story which made me laugh, almost cry and rejoice. I received an advance review copy via NetGalley at no cost and without obligation from the author.
“All Fired Up” (Road to Love Book 3) by Lori Foster is a fantastic read. I loved Mitch and Charlotte’s story. This is a terrific addition to this series, packed with romance, passion, twists, humor, family, entertaining characters, rescue animals, and more. I loved catching up with the Crews family. I seriously hope we get more from this entertaining cast of characters in the future. Highly recommend to all fans of romance, family, and series.
ARC received from publisher via Edelweis for an honest review
Now, I don’t know how it happened, but I have somehow missed the first 2 book in the Road To Love series, however this did not affect my enjoyment of All Fired Up.
I adored and felt so much for Mitch as he starts to overcome the horrible childhood he had, finds family and love where he least expects it.
His story is very emotional, and had me hooked from the first page to the last. I adored the way Charlotte and the others welcomed him with open arms, brought him into the family and just loved him.
There were some issues, however my favourite thing was that they weren’t over the top, there wasn’t stupid misunderstanding or miscommunications, and they all acted like adults.
I loved the brothers and now I need to go back and read their books.
I can’t wait to see what Ms Foster brings us next.
*I was provided an arc by author & Netgalley for an honest review.* This is the third book in Lori Foster’s “Road to Love” series & I loved it even more than the first two books! I seriously want to be a part of the Crews family!! This is the story of Mitch Crews (illegitimate son of Elliott) & Charlotte Parrish. Mitch comes to town with his adorable & formerly abused dog Brute to get to know his brothers. He meets Charlotte first then Ros, Jack & Brodie. They accept him into the family immediately & while he’s trying to adjust his Mother’s old boyfriend comes to cause trouble. While he & Charlotte are falling in love the family bands together, including Elliott to fight his enemy. This book is amazing! It has a wonderful sense of family & all the feels. You already loved Charlotte from the other books & will love Mitch too! We also can’t forget the adorable rescue pets (Howler, Buster, Peanut & Brute). I’m hoping Ros & Elliott get their book & maybe Grant too even though he’s not a Crews. I would also love to try Charlotte’s white chocolate cake! This book is a must read!!
This book has it all! Lori Foster definitely delivers the romance, suspense, and the ultimate finale to her Road To Love series. I am beyond thrilled with Mitch’s story. He and Charlotte’s chemistry is off the charts. I couldn’t put it down. I loved being able to catch up with Brodie and Jack, their wives, and Roz. And how fun that Howler, Peanut and Buster were joined by a new friend.
This is one book you can’t miss! It’s so well written and it will truly grab your hearts.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy from Netgalley and this is my honest review.
What a wonderful, emotional & great story! I have enjoyed each book in the series and was so happy that Charlotte now has her HEA. I was hooked from the story from the beginning. I was curious as to who Mitch was at first but totally loved him & how welcoming his family was to him. Even though his half brothers didn’t know about him, it took bravery for him to go meet them. My heart broke for him as he was guarded at first and hesitant to open up but so happy when he finally learned it was o.k. Charlotte is a pretty independent woman but needed some help which is where Mitch came in. Loved how protective Brodie & Jack were of her, treating her like she was their little sister but their love & respect of each other was very clear. When it was apparent that both Charlotte & Mitch were attracted to each other it was heartwarming to see how the family treated them as a couple but still protective of Charlotte. I also loved the animals in this story.
The third in a series of stories focusing on brotherhood and the importance of family. First Mary and Brodie, then Ronnie and Jack, now it is Charlotte’s turn. She has been the support for the Mustang Transport offices for years, after watching her pseudo brothers fall in love she is now ready to take the leap herself. Mitch has already lived through the worst years of his life with the only family he knows being his lovable rescue dog. Mitch has never had anyone to take care of him or for him to depend on. After searching out and meeting his half-brothers everything changes and Mitch gets something else he did not set out looking for – a true supportive family relationship.
This latest installment in the Road to Love series brings us another entertaining page-turner by Lori Foster. Foster brings the characters to life, making you feel for this modern family. Each page encourages you to root for Mitch! Another intriguing story from the incredible Lori Foster.
I received an ARC from NetGalley, and this is my honest review.
All Fired Up is the third book in the Road to Love series. This is a really good book. Lori Foster hits all the emotions for these characters. Mitch, who desperately craves family, but is afraid based upon his past. Brodie and Jack, who accept Mitch as there brother, almost immediately. Ros, who embraces Mitch as one of her own sons, though she did not give birth to him. And Charlotte, who, upon first sight, falls head over heals for Mitch.
Charlotte Parrish runs the office of Mustang Transport courier service for Brodie and Jack Crews, with occasional help from their mom, Ros. When Charlotte’s car gets a flat tire, she calls each of the brothers to come and help her, before her phone dies.
In walks Mitch Crews! An ex-con who is determined to change the course of his life! While in search of his two half-brothers (Brodie and Jack), he stumbles across Charlotte, standing beside her broken down car. Just as Mitch has finished changing Charlotte’s flat tire, his brothers show up. And Ros is right behind them! Her greeting to Mitch was one of immediate acceptance as one of her own sons! Her acceptance of Mitch is so heart-warming, and beautiful. It total throws Mitch off balance.
All of Lori’s characters are interesting and lovable, especially the furry ones – from Howler, the dog Brodie rescued, to the kitten and dog Jack and Ronnie rescue, to Brute, the abused pit bull pup Mitch rescued. The reader can’t help but fall in love with them all. Great story! I received this ARC from NetGalley, and this is my honest review.
This is my favorite books of the series. Mitch came to town to get to know his brothers, he didn’t know what to expect and he definitely did not expect Charlotte.
Throughout Mitch’s childhood he was abused by his mom’s boyfriend who was a drug dealer and a thug. He left young but ended up in prison due to one of his deals. Now Mitch is out and he’s ready to settle down, hopefully with his brothers. He’s used to being on his own and doesn’t expect anything. Especially their take charge attitude. Ros automatically accepts him and starts mothering him.
Charlotte thinks of Jack and Brodie as brothers, but Mitch is a whole other story. She knows from the second that she meets him that he’s different and she’s feeling something she never has before. Mitch protects her that first night from a drunk guy in the parking lot of the local bar and helps her change her flat tire. Both of their lives changed that night and once Newman is out of the picture it’ll be worth the wait.
I didn’t really like this series but this book was worth the wait. I throughly enjoyed this book and am glad I had the opportunity to read it. Charlotte is a little naive but Mitch’s experiences show he needed that and these two characters blend well together. He has a heartbreaking story but how many kids really experience this same life? A lot. This story brings on the full gambit of emotions and you just hope that Newman gets his.
Receieved ARC in exchange for honest voluntary review.
Such an epic end to the series!!
This is the 3rd book in Foster’s Road to Love trilogy. In the first two we meet Brodie and Jack and their mom Ros who is my favorite by far. We are also introduced to Charlotte who is like a sister to Brodie and Jack. She is sweet and on top of everything… When we meet Jack and Brodies romances you cant help but feel bad that it wasn’t Charlotte. Their relationship was always more brother and sister but still… I always felts Charlotte should end up with family and expected a cousin or so to pop up, or for it to go a total different direction so the surprise of Mitch showing up was unexpected and loved.
As always, the drama is realistic but with enough of that “reading a book to get away” romance attached.
Such a hit!
You know “Opposites attract and all that”….YES, all that. This story is all that and everything in between. I couldn’t wait for Charlotte’s story but Ms. Foster was clever enough to know we were not finished with Crews boys so she figured out a perfect trifecta. It is easy to feel the vulnerability, the strength, and the humor in her characters which all make the story realistic and believable. I fell in love with Ros (a secondary character) in the first book and thank you Lori for gifting us with a glimpse of her horizon. I wish I could savor your books but I can’t help but to read them in one sitting.
This was a great read! The opening chapter grabbed my attention and never let go. Charlotte meets Mitch outside Freddie’s Bar when he comes to her rescue her from the unwelcomed advances of Bernie. The chemistry and connection between Charlotte and Mitch is immediate and intense for both of them. I really don’t want to say too much because part of the joy comes from the unexpected –but you’ll get family secrets, a loving and funny family, rescued dogs, a big bad, and a heck of a happily ever after. Enjoy!
“All Fired Up” concludes Lori Foster’s Road to Love series and features Mitch Crews and Charlotte Parrish.
Mitch comes to Red Oak looking for the family he’s never met, hoping to leave his past behind, and wanting a better future. When he sees Charlotte being bothered by a couple guys, he steps in to rescue her.
Charlotte keeps the office at Mustang Transport running smoothly and is all about taking care of herself, so when Mitch helps her out of a bad situation, she is completely taken in by him and his strength.
When Mitch’s past catches up to him, he has to shift his focus to protecting his family and Charlotte.
“All Fired Up” moves along at a decent pace with the tension between Mitch and Charlotte and Mitch’s past ratcheting up scene by scene.
While I enjoy Ms. Foster’s books, it seems the last book in her series turn out to be my favorite—“Jamie”, “A Perfect Storm”, “Fighting Dirty”, “Fast Burn”, and now “All Fired Up”.
I received a ARC for my honest opinion. I just loved this third installment of the Road to Love Series. I couldn’t put this story down. Looking for the family that he always dreamed of having, Mitch went to find his half-brothers in hope of making a connection. Little did he realize he would meet the one woman who would change his life and bring him the happiness he has always been denied. Charlotte was just the heroine that our hero Mitch needed in his life. She showed Mitch what it means to love someone and the importance of family by accepting him and his past and letting him know that he was important and worth loving.
Of course, the feisty matriarch of the family, Rosalyn Crews, mother to Brodie and Jack, in her usual take no prisoners style immediately became the mother that Mitch never new could exist. As for Brodie and Jack, after some bumpy roads, they became the brothers he always wanted and showed him that family always sticks together and support each other.
So take the time to read this story of love and family. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed
If you love Lori Foster, this book did not disappoint. This is the 3rd book in the Road to Love series, however each book can be read as a standalone. I loved re-visiting the Crews family as I read Mitch and Charlotte’s story. This family is unconditional, loving and fun. Mitch and Charlotte are a match made in heaven and are hot, hot, hot. Good story which had me not being able to but my book down. I received an ACR for an honest review.
Wow!
Lori definitely lit the match in All Fired Up from the first chapter. Sweet, sexy, witty and fun. This book grabbed me by the feels and didn’t let go even after the last page was read. Mitch is my new book boyfriend.
I love the interaction between the whole family. The build up to Mitch and Charlotte’s coming together was perfect. When Mitch’s past comes calling, he will do what he needs to and protect his family. This is the final book in this series and I must confess, this one is my favorite.
Lori has writing another “can’t stop reading” book.
I received an ARC from Netgalley and this is my honest review.
Wow, I love this series and Charlotte and Mitch’s story is no different!
Mitch came to town to meet his half brothers but never expected to be accepted. He wanted to put down roots but his own family life was horrible. His mother was a strung out addict who loved a good high more than she loved him. He went to jail for 5 years to keep her safe. He is an ex-con and well who would embrace and ex-con like him? Well he was about to find out.
Charlotte, Brodie and Jack’s pseudo sister since she was 16 is looking for a boring guy until she meets Mitch when he comes to her rescue at Freddie’s bar. She can hold her own but he steps in and that starts a domino effect of sorts and forces him to meet his family before he is ready.
This story is about forgiveness, forgiving oneself and forgiving others but it’s also about learning to love and learning to accept that family doesn’t have to mean neglect and harsh times. Ms. Foster’s characters are very realistic and each one of them is loyal to a fault. The women are strong, independent, loving and well in their own way forces to be reckoned with. I very much enjoyed the banter and teasing amongst the brothers. And well no one messes with Ros, the matriarch of the family. She is a hoot!
This story is full of action, love, a few surprises and the antics of the Crews’ brothers. They are funny, loyal, loving, fierce, and overly protective.
Ms. Foster’s characters also involve 3 dogs and a cat. Howler is hysterical and the way Brodie describes him to Mitch is hysterical. Brute is the newest addition to the group but he fits right in in his own way.
I couldn’t put this book down. I really hope there are more stories from Red Oak.
“I received an ARC from NetGalley, and this is my honest review.”
Lori Foster once again knocks it out of the park. This book, All Fired Up will make you happy and angry at all the same time. It has the alpha males and the brave heroines. Once you start reading the book you can’t put it down. This is book three in the Road to Love series. Mitch Crews is looking for his half brothers but what he finds is acceptance and love. Family is about love not blood. I received an ARC from NetGalley, and this is my honest review.
