All Fired Up by Lori Foster is another great read in her Road to Love series. One of the things I love most about Ms. Foster’s books is the sense of family in them- whether related by blood or love, there’s always this lovely feeling of belonging. In All Fired Up we get both- with Charlotte by love, and with Mitch, Brodie and Jack’s newly discovered half-brother, by blood. It was wonderful to see how accepting Ros, Brodie, and Jack were towards Mitch. He had no idea when he decided to seek out his brothers that he would finally have the family he always wanted, the mother he always needed.
I really felt for Mitch- he didn’t have the best upbringing by any stretch of the imagination, and unfortunately he got caught up in a bad situation, which derailed his life for a bit. But even with all that happened, he didn’t let that discourage him from the life he wanted. I admired that about him, he had such strength of character, much like the brothers he was just getting to know.
What I’ve enjoyed about this series is that along with the romance, we get a little mystery and suspense, as well as a bit of danger. When Mitch’s past comes back to haunt him, his brothers are right there beside him, no hesitation on their parts to step in and help.
And speaking of romance, our sweet Charlotte finally found the man she’s been longing for! Both she and Mitch fell fast and hard, almost from the first moment their eyes met. But if two people were meant to be, it was these two.
A terrific story of love and family, All Fired Up was the perfect way to round out the Road to Love series!
While I love Lori Foster and her writing, at timed her heroes can be a little too alpha for me. I like the strong, silent type but I like to see a little but of vulnerability too. In All Fired Up, Mitch is the perfect hero. An Ex-con who decides to check out his step-brothers, Mitch has a chip on his shoulder but is wanting to start a new life. While he had heard all about his step-brothers and their mother, they had no idea that their father had a bastard out there. When they finally meet, rather that the disgust and anger Mitch expected, his step family welcomed him with open arms and forced his to admit to being family.
Of course, things can’t always go smoothly so there is danger following Mitch. His mother’s drug dealing boyfriend is out to get him and will happily take his new family down too.
The relationships between the brothers, their mother, their almost sister, Charlotte, and Mitch is wonderful to see grow and thrive. Just as nice is seeing their dogs become friends.
If you like a strong, damaged hero who can be healed by love this is the book for you.
I received an advanced copy of this book.
Lori Foster at her best is my first thought upon reading this book. Her characters have so much depth and heart and I love how she weaves her stories. I have been reading her books for a very long time and she just gets better and better. I had read the previous 2 books associated with this book, but it is certainly a standalone. Mitch was such a heartbreak. His life had been so bad, he truly did not know how family worked, but once he met his half brothers Brodie and Jack, along with their mother, he got sucked into learning how a family worked. And the cherry on the top was Charlotte, who worked for Jack, Brodie and Ros, but was also considered to be one of the family as she had lived with them since her parents had died at the age of 16. She of all the characters healed his heart and taught him love! Such a thoroughly enjoyable read!
This is my favorite of all the Road to Love books. It’s the third in the series, but it can easily be read as a standalone.
I’ve been eager for Charlotte’s story, and Lori Foster did not disappoint. Charlotte and Mitch were perfect together. They had an instant connection, but the slow-burn was definitely the way to go.
The interaction between all the family members was also thoroughly enjoyable, and of course, I loved all the animals with Brute being a great addition.
***I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy generously provided by the author.***
This is the 3rd book in the Road to Love Series. While I loved the other 2 books I definitely feel this is my favorite book. There were so many raw and heartfelt emotions, loveable characters you wanted to cheer for and past characters you were able to connect with.
I highly recommend this 5 star story. While it can be read as a stand alone, I feel it would be best if read in order.
Thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to express my own and honest opinion of this story.
such a great series. Loving these characters and meeting new ones. Such fierce loyalty and I love how everything comes back to family.
All Fired Up just might be my favorite of the Road to Love series! I loved Mitch so much. And Charlotte finally got to show everyone how amazing she was. (I’m pretty sure the other characters already knew, but I didn’t know!)
There was a lot of strong family ties in this one, but there was also love and romance, and some acute danger to make things more real. And the danger really had me on the edge of my seat for the whole novel!
Foster took two characters who somehow thought they didn’t measure up, and when they met each other they realized that the reason why other relationships in their lives didn’t work was mostly because those relationships weren’t with the right person.
Mitch and Charlotte were both very strong characters – but in very different ways. I loved seeing both of them become more confident in areas where they needed it. And I enjoyed seeing how the other characters from prior novels in the series dealt with everything that was going on.
This book is about the Crews family, and the surprise of having a half brother finding his brothers. Mitch Crews is a man with a past that has come not to intrude, but to introduce himself to his brothers. I loved that he is openly welcomed by not only his half brothers, but by Ros, brothers’ Brodie and Jack’s mother. I loved that Charlotte was instantly accepting of him, even when secrets from his past were revealed. It was an instant attraction that was wonderful to read. I loved seeing how the family is doing. A visitation of the previous book’s characters. The story had a good progression and was an easy read. Lori Foster’s book are always a first buy for me.
This is the third book in the series and the one I was waiting for. Charlotte is a bit of a mystery in the two other books. She got her time to shine in this book and she did it well. Mitch had a hard life and came searching to see if he could meet his half brothers. Low and behold Charlotte is the first to experience the real man behind the jaded mask. It was a fantastic story about family, healing, and love. This was definitely my favorite book out of the three and you can read it as a stand-alone because you do get some backgrounds on the past stories. I’d recommend reading them all because these crews brothers are some serious alpha males and their girls are just as tough. I received an ARC from NetGalley, and this is my honest review.”
This was a good addition to the series. Mitch and Charlotte May be opposites but they bring out the best in each other. Most importantly this is a book about family and unconditional support from loved ones. Definitely a good read with the emotional impact to make you feel good.
I was so happy to read Mitch and Charlotte’s story! They knew from first sight that there was something between them, and it grew from there. Mitch is happy to find his half brothers, and Ros wishes that he had been brought to her when there was trouble at home. I’m hoping that Ros gets her own story next, it would be a great finish to the series.
This review is based on an ARC from NetGalley, courtesy of the publisher. All opinions are my own.
What a wonderful way to add to the Crews siblings! Charlotte is the center of the Crews business…keeping them organized and busy. She is bad S in her own way, but also sweet at heart. Mitch has been through such a tough life, thanks to his biological father knocking up his mom, and then helping to finance her demise.
I have really enjoyed this Road to Love series! The Crews family is wonderful! I enjoyed the backstory in this one, a lot. I loved the slow-burn romance, the characters, and the protectiveness of the “brothers”. All Fired Up has some romance, intensity, mystery, and family. Loved this 3rd book in this series!
This book is a perfect example of what makes Lori Foster my favorite romance writer. I was already in love with Charlotte and the entire family from the previous books, but while reading and falling for Mitch I fell even more in love with the whole cast characters. The family love story is just as strong and compelling as the couples. I was so happy with the love and acceptance that Mitch receives as the story progresses. I just simply loved the book, my only request would be a book for Ros even a short.
This is an opposites attract romance with a bit of suspense thrown in and with a splash of heat or maybe more of a LOT of heat. Charlotte has worked with the Crews brothers and kept them in line for years and watched them find their happy endings. She would like hers but she has certain things she is looking for and bad boys are not part of that, in fact, the more boring the better…or so she thinks. That is until she is stranded on the side of the road and Mitch Crews comes to her rescue. He is definitely not boring and is the definition of bad boy, through and through. Mitch has come to town looking for his family and that did not include getting involved but the heart wants what the heart wants. This story can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading all three as I really enjoyed this one more than the first two but really recommend all three.
I’m a huge Lori Foster fan and I was not disappointed with this book! Lori’s character development allows you to get to know each person intimately. You feel like part of the story and that these people are your family. I don’t write spoilers so you will have to read this 3rd book to find out what happens. There’s family, acceptance, strength and suspense! There’s also some danger and some serious steam! Oh and don’t forget all the animals!! I think is this my favorite of the three! I received an advanced readers copy and this is my honest and unsolicited review.
Okay, so here’s the thing, I don’t know if it’s me or what but every time I pick up a Lori Foster book lately I feel like it’s soooooooooo long and with no reason to be. If you’re going to drag a romance story, it should probably drag in the romance department *shrug* This one did not. So again I find myself not exactly dissatisfied with the story, but certainly not excited either. Maybe I’m changing, I don’t know, but facts:
The suspense portion of this book was eye-rolling at best..
The family plot point was exciting and heartwarming
The inner monologues were excessive. STOP THINKING AND JUST DO. I like my stories to be interactive, not introspective. *shrug*
The romance journey was lacking. Severely.
I’m not giving up on reading Lori Foster, but I think maybe I need a break …
What a wild ride! Mitch has had an interesting and heartbreaking life. When he travels to locate his half-brothers, he never expected to be accepted without question. Family is a completely foreign concept to him so it’s not all sunshine and roses as he learns how to adjust to having people care about him.
Charlotte hasn’t had a perfect life and knows too well the wariness she sees in Mitch’s eyes. She also knows her surrogate family is pushy and stubborn, so she tries to help Mitch navigate being accepted without question. The spark between these two is white hot even though her “big brothers” do what they can to get in the way. With her naivety and Mitch’s self-reliance, when the past and present collide will they be able to handle the fallout? When trouble comes back with a vengeance, can Mitch keep his new family safe? You’ll have to read and find out – this one kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time!
Enjoyable addition to the Road to Love series. I love the Crew Family, especially Ros. So happy that Charlotte got her story told. She and Mitch had a spark from the start. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
No one writes family and friendship like Lori Foster. All Fired Up is another example of the unconditional love of family whether they are born of blood or heart. Charlotte was a character in the first two books of the Road to Love series so I was thrilled that she was getting her own story. Charlotte is a fun character who demonstrates independence and sass, as well as dedication to the Crews family. I was pleasantly surprised her story involved a long lost half-brother to Brodie and Jack Crews. The story not only builds on the development of a romantic relationship but the growth of a family. Mitch Crews is a well-developed character who strives to improve his life and grow from his past mistakes. He is definitely one of my favorite Foster heroes. The attraction and relationship between Mitch and Charlotte happens quickly in the story, but that enables the book to become more than just a typical romance novel. I loved the third book in the Road to Love series. My only complaint about this series is that there are no more brothers to give us more books.
“I received an ARC from NetGalley, and this is my honest review.”
My favorite of the series by far. Mitch is an ex-con with a good heart and Charlotte can’t resist him, and neither will you. It is a story with suspense, danger, secrets and a few steamy scenes. You can read this book as a stand alone, but warning, you will want to read about the rest of Mitch’s family. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy.
