Eve Emerson is tired of dumping her problems on her sister. Determined to prove that she can take care of herself, and to break the chain of bad relationships that has controlled her since she could remember, Eve swears off dating for a year. But when she leaves the security of her job to work for the town’s new vet, her career and her vow are suddenly dancing out of her control. Can Eve return … return her life to normal without breaking her promise to her sister–and herself?
Derrick Morgan just wasn’t cut out to be a parent–his baby sister Caroline proved that when she was only fifteen years old. Now that Caroline is the divorced single mother of a seven-month-old, it’s up to Derrick to fix the mistakes he’s made in the past. But his move to Shepherdsville is only temporary–just because he wants to fix the past doesn’t mean he wants to live in it. And not even his gorgeous new assistant can change his mind.

All Bets Are Off is a fun romance with little tidbits of wisdom here and there. The main characters seem to be almost complete opposites except for their love of animals. The book has lots of humorous situations and lines. One of my favorite lines: Eve appreciated the effort, but sometimes, a girl needed to be left alone with a tub of ice cream. I love small town romances, and this one is a gem. There’s a perfect HEA for this book. I recommend it to sweet romance readers, especially animal lovers. I received an ARC. I chose to write a review and share my opinion
I really enjoyed Eve and Derricks story. I had read Eves Twin sisters story before and happy to see Eve grow up and get a life on her own after getting some sage advice from her Yoga retreat instructor, and it didn’t hurt to have Derrick come along for the ride!
All Bets Are Off is a clean, sweet, fun romance. Eve and Derrick have a lot of chemistry. With animals, goat yoga, a goat, a great looking vet, a free spirit and more everyone should find something to like in this fun story. Shephersville just keeps getting better!
I was given a chance to read this book before it was published and to give an honest review. I had already preordered the book anyway because I love how the author writes and her characters so I was super excited to get a sneak peek.
I loved this book! I think this is my favorite of Shauna Lynn Brook’s books so far! I loved how there is a theme of how to be happy throughout the book and the challenges Eve faces to “stick to the plan”. The book was easy to read, engaging, and I totally connected with the characters. I liked how this book focused on the main characters of Derrick and Eve with a few other characters for the story. I mean there weren’t a lot of other characters thrown in for the story. The characters in the book were involved in the storyline. I am glad that the author gives enough information about the characters past history so even if I had not read the other books in the Shepherdsville series, I would still know what was going on.
I thoroughly loved the focus of the story being on animals and the clinic. I am like Eve in the way that she loves animals with such a passion. There was a variety of emotions throughout the book that made it even better. The ending was perfect for the book; however, I wish the book was longer. I enjoyed it that much!
I can’t wait for her next book! Shauna Lynn is a very talented writer with uplifting and wonderful stories!
Eve Emerson was always going to her twin sister Ellie with her problems. She now wants to prove she can take care of herself so has gone to a yoga retreat. There she ended up taking advice from Bill who suggested she swear off dating for a year, do things for others, and surround herself with people who put others ahead of themselves. This yoga resort had goats and she fell in love with Eric, who was supposed to be therapeutic. Might I add she got a goat to save it from being butchered while renting a house in a residential area. A cute, funny, and sweet story that I totally enjoyed.
What’s not to like about a hunky vet ? Small town life isn’t as uncomplicated as you’d expect. Very fun reading
