She was his the moment she stepped aboard. He’ll fight everyone, even the emperor himself, to keep her…Like most Lathar, First Healer Isan K’Vass didn’t expect to ever find his mate. The genetic plague that had ravaged their race meant they had no females, and his tainted bloodline meant he would be last in line for one of the rare human females. Or it should.Until a human combat team boards … should.
Until a human combat team boards the Veral’vias and he see’s HER. Flame haired. Curvy. Dangerous. And all his, if the secrets in his blood don’t tear them apart first…
Aliens should not be hot. At all. Not ever.
Shannon Taylor had one thing on her mind when she boarded the alien vessel. Her mission. But no plan survives first contact with the enemy and her rescue mission goes sideways quicker than a cat on a hot tin roof. Finding herself the prisoner of the Lathar, and one, hot as hades healer in particular, she needs to keep her wits about her if she’s ever going to get herself the hell of this alien ship.
However, the Lathar aren’t as bad as she’d been told and it’s all she can do to remember that Isan, her sexy healer, is the enemy. Only he’s not, he kisses like a dream, and they end up on the same side on a mission into dangerous territory to root out an enemy to both their people.
But treachery lurks in the shadows and when Shannon is betrayed, will her warrior reach her in time. Or is their happily-ever-after over before it could begin?

I really enjoyed this story. A fast moving plot and great characters. Interesting concept of the future and contact with Aliens. Sizzling romance and plenty of Action.
It can be read as stand alone. Looking forward to the next book.
Still a wonderful series at book 10.
What a great read with a new type of Lathar warrior being introduced, secrets are revealed but also very sad.
Wow, did not see this story going the direction it did, loved how Ms Carter managed to give us such a diverse and interesting 10th book in this series.
I really felt bad for Raalt but his mate Miisan made the choice and left him and her son too, so she takes the bulk of the blame.
This is my honest review of this book.
Even as number 10 in a series, this story still manages to surprise and reveal a new aspect of this world building. That in a nutshell is a large part of why this, and the other nine free standing books are so enjoyable. They all feel fresh and keep your interest.
This was definitely my favorite Lathar book! Shannon was a strong warrior and the perfect match for Isan. I enjoyed the action of the story, where the plot went, and what was revealed. But mostly how Isan and Shannon struggled to come to over come who they both were in order to better love each other. The story was wonderful world building and left lots of room for additional future stories.
This book is wonderful and I cannot wait to see if there will be more set in this world. You will laugh and cry with these characters as they fall in love. I hope that every one of these characters get their “woman”.
So intense!
The Warriors of Lathar series has been a favorite of mine, but this one is now my favorite! Isan is just incredible, and Shannon fully keeps him on his toes. Best of all, she proves to be exactly what the Doctor ordered. What a fiery romance! They’re both pretty hot-headed. A perfect match, and ever so entertaining!
My favorite of the series, Shannon and Isan’s Story did not disappoint. I loved her kick ass character and pair it with an unexpected characteristic of Isan makes for a winning combination. Sizzling chemistry and deserving HEA makes this a must read. Can’t wait for the next in this series that you can’t help but love.
Another great read in the world of the Lathar. My drug of choice and I admit my addiction. The great thing is you can read Lathar again and again and get the same high each time. ISAN is another great hero with a little added zing.
Rescue Gone Wrong
Isan is a dedicate Warrior Healer with the scares to prove it. He comes from a deadly line of warrior called Izaea. Warrior berserker clan that is used for total annihilation of the enemy and deemed unworthy to mate. These guy live to fight. Isan was deemed not to carry the gene that caused this mutation to happen.
Shannon is an elite warrior from earth with the purpose of rescuing her commanding officer. She is determined to beat this alien race.
These two characters at times made me laugh and cheer for them to get together.
Each has their own secrets that may keep them apart can they find the answers before its to late?
Any chance I get to read a book in this series is always a great read. These alien warriors are the best.
A review has been done without obligation to the author just to the joy of spreading the news about a new book.
Isan K’Vass, scary first Healer, took a look at Shannon Taylor and there it was, he was shot. His heart, mind and reason no longer his. Shannon never thought she would be interested in an alien much less a heavy scarred one, but one does not rule the heart and the overprotective and possessive alien was getting into her heart. Still, the alien Healer had to learn how to treat his female because the decided, skillful and independent woman was not one to leave behind. The author had me sidetracked with Isan’s secret. What I was guessing was not. The tough, mighty, scary and possessive alien was hers and she was his rock. Action, suspense, intrigue, betrayal, strong emotions, mystery, secrets, violence and lot of passion. Third book that I read in the Lathar Alien series and enjoyed it a lot!
