RebeccaWhile fleeing a dying Earth I’ve endured cold, hunger and thirst. The one bright spot in my nightmare is my friend and fellow red-head, Willow. I’ve never had a friend like her before, one who I’d do anything for and she’d do the same for me. We’re traveling to the Draconian home-world to accept an offer of sanctuary. Of course nothing in the universe is free. The price doesn’t seem so … price doesn’t seem so bad, pick out a Draconian male to be your mate. It’s better than starving to death, right?
When we get to their planet the task seems like it should be easy. There are lots of warriors and every one of them is obsessed with us. They call us the fiery-haired queens and make a big deal of us. It’s not going too bad until one day Willow disappears.
I’m not going to let her go. I’ll do whatever it takes to find her. Even go with a primitive, scarred Draconian warrior who’d be my last choice of mates. Except he knows where she is and without him, there’s no hope.
Argon
I’m of the old blood. There is less humanoid mixed into my native dragon blood. The human queens tend to turn away from me. They mistake my high-strung manner for feral aggression.
I’ve resigned myself to not having a queen of my own. I’m exiled from the city because of my aggressiveness, but still I love its beauty. So I fly over to a spot I’ve claimed in the nearby trees where I like to perch and admire the beautiful spirals. I sit and I dream of building my own spirals, that somehow I could have a queen of my own to build it for.
When I arrive at my spot and find a fiery-haired queen there, I try to make her understand it is mine. The queens own everything, though, and she wants me to take her into the mountains. She tells me of her lost friend and how she must save her.
Her loss makes my heart ache and I want to help her. Her lush form attracts me, igniting desire, and my dragon nature. Reluctantly I agree to take her on the journey.
I’ll have to remain alert and move fast if I am to keep her safe from the shadowy enemy stalking her. We have to save her friend but before this is done it’s my heart that will need saved.

The characters make a good story even better, Rebecca and Argon don’t seem like a good fit at first, but they work up to it. This series has held my interest right through to this part, growing and changing in parts while remaining true to the main story arc. I love how the males appreciate the human girls and are constantly trying to find ways to be worthy of being chosen. This story is full of twists, and I didn’t expect the conflict to come from where it did, so that was unexpected. I loved the romance and the story in this book, it was easy to become lost in the pages.
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
This was a great book !
Rebecca would do anything to save her friend.
Argon knew that they all thought of him as the “Beast”.
Argon agree to help Rebecca in saving her friend.
Will Rebecca look beyond the “Beast” and really look at “Argon” ?
Loved the characters + the storytelling !
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I don’t think I’ve had this much fun with a Draconian book. Juno Wells certainly upped the ante with this one. It had everything I expected from a Draconian book plus so many awesome new things. In this book the Alien Savage is Argon, who is a Draconian that distinguishes himself (and his clade) from typical Draconians because they are of the ‘old blood’. Argon is not inclined to mate because he doesn’t want to become submissive to a queen. He knows that one day he will have to in order to continue his line but he sees it more as a duty and not as a desire. All that changes when he meets Rebecca. Rebecca, known as Becca, is the typical survivor of a catastrophe ridden Earth that became uninhabitable. She is cautious and is always worried about getting into bad situations.
The first meeting between Argon and Becca is hilarious. There’s instant chemistry but not the steamy one, more like the opposing forces type. Soon they find themselves in each other’s company and to his great surprise he enjoys Becca’s presence more and more. An ancient enemy, the Vithcan parasite, has made itself known in this new world discovered by the Draconians. The parasite threatens to affect the human Queens, which are so dearly loved by the Draconians. In the face of adversity Argon shows his true feelings and will stop at nothing to ensure the safety of his strong-willed and beautiful fiery human queen. I absolutely loved this story; there was more character development with the leads as well as with surrounding circumstances. I can’t wait to continue reveling in this enticing world.
Another great addition to the series. I had a love -hate relationships with Argon I did however come to like him in the end even though he thought highly of himself. I did find the situation with what happened to his brother hilarious and disgusting all at the same time. Overall it was a enjoyable and entertaining read. I received a free copy via booksprout I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are my own.
