My name is Madison Altman. Don’t think because I’ve disguised myself as a man and have accepted a job that takes me away from Earth that I’m running away from love. That’s not true. I met the love of my life–but he was killed on our wedding day.Chaperoning crazy women traveling to Dakon to become the mail order brides of aliens is just a way to pay the bills. Unfortunately, on this latest … latest assignment, the ship returned to Earth without me! Luckily, Enoki came to my rescue. He might be hot, and sexy as hell with his gravelly voice and throbbing horns, but he believes I’m a man, and we’re friends, not lovers. That’s how I want it. That’s how it has to be. As soon Enoki can get me a flight to Earth, I’m leaving this frozen planet for good.
I’m Enoki, leader of Dakon. For the longest time, whispers in the wind told me my Fated mate was coming. Whispers turned to shouts when the recent shipment of females arrived, but none of them were mine. I must accept the Fates were wrong. I’ll never get a mate.
My purpose now is to help the stranded Earth man return to his home planet. Even though Madison is a Terran, we’ve developed a strong bond. I know I’ll miss him, but because we’re friends, I intend to do everything I can to help him leave.
Why do the whispers tell me not to let him go?

Friend Zone or BUST!
Another fantastic Sci-Fi Rom-Com by Ms Cara Bristol! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all of the books in the “Alien Mate” Series. This novel is a great addition! Although a reader will enjoy this as a stand-alone (we really don’t see many of the characters from the first 3 novels), a reader will better appreciate it after reading the whole series.
What an interesting twist we get to experience in this story! I can remember not liking Madison in the first novels and wondering if Enoki would get a chance in the Earther Female Lottery. This novel had me laughing out loud, holding my breath, and rooting for that elusive HEA. All I’ll say is “PHEW”!! What a great skimmer ride. I look forward to more in this series. I’m sure there are more Dakonian Men stepping forward in Ms Bristol’s subconscious telling her it’s time for their story to be told. *wink*wink*nudge*nudge!!
I received and voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Madison is trying to prove a point to her brother that misogyny is alive and well. What better way than by going undercover on a ship taking mail order brides to Dakon. She may have perfected her supercilious, lip curling, male alter ego a bit too well though. Cos the females on board truly can’t abide “him”, she let her opinions on their choice to travel and marry men they’d never met just a bit too well known.
But when she injures herself and is left stranded on Dakon, she will have to either come clean to her friend Enoki before his healer friend does it for her or declare herself a female and allow herself to be put into a lottery for the unmated males in Enoki’s tribe.
I really enjoyed Madison and Enoki’s friendship which turns to more. Madison is a bit full on competitive with her brother though. I get using the money to pay off bills etc, but how can she just deride others decisions to become brides, for whatever reason. I really did find her a tad judgemental, after all, she likes Enoki so why hate the very females who could be his HEA?
Poor Enoki fears for his mental health when the winds keep telling him his mate is near, he just doesn’t see through Madison’s disguise. But when he realises who she is to him, his HEA may just get scuppered by Madison herself. With the able assistance of Huey, Dewey and Louis – my names for his odious tribesmen!
Good dose of humour manages to make what could have been Madison’s preachiness palatable. And who can resist a large, hunky alien?????
Madison really isn’t a man doing a man jobs but to prove her brother wrong as a woman, she’s doing just that. Working as a chaperone to Dakon as all the women meet there mates. Who in the right mind would actually do that? Oh yeah all these 100 crazy women including my best friend! Well lets just say my plan didn’t go according to my plans and I’m falling in love also. WOW, I cant believe what a train ride I had with Enoki.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC.
A great addition to the Alien Mates series, Madison and Enoki’s story if full of misunderstanding, misdirection and missed communications. I though that both characters were in denial of what they really felt, but Enoki’s was understandable at least, since Madison was a dude and all. It’s a well written story with lots of emotional growth and inner feelings being resolved. I enjoyed reading this one because it was emotionally deep and still fun to go through.
Another fine Dakonian adventure!
Disguised as a man on a bet, Madison fields a lucrative position escorting new brides to Dakon. Hiding from life in plain sight. Soon, life hits her with the force of a Dakonian blizzard.
Enoki and Madison are both rather confused about what’s going on, and what the attraction between them means.
Madison seems full of hanky-panky in this book; some of it could get her in big trouble. Fortunately for her, Enoki is tuned in and comes to her rescue. Again. I adore Enoki! He a great leader, makes good decisions, bests his opposition, and follows where the fates guide him. He and Madison make a splendid match once she makes up her mind. The ending is seriously satisfying. I love it!
Sci-fi romance, a little too much sex but love the story
It was entertaining story. I just didn’t feel like she was the right fit for him. I have read other books in this series and liked them ok. And this one wasn’t bad. Just, I guess, felt rushed in the ending.
I love the Alien series. This was one with a twist in the story.
Listen to the Fates!! This was my favorite of the series! Earth has a program with Dakon – women volunteer to become alien brides in exchange for illuvian ore. Madison Altman was the male in charge of the women on the earth ship to Dakon. Only Madison is a female. Enoki, chief of the Dakon council, keeps hearing the Fates say his mate is here but he did not receive a chit for a human female so he couldn’t understand why the Fates told him his mate is here. They almost lose each other but Fate has other ideas for them, their happily every after.
I loved the characters and the flow of the story. It kept my interest and was a little unpredictable.
I’m loving this whole series
EXELLENT!
It was pretty good and worth the money
I just love all of these stories. These men are the stuff of dreams.
Just finished the e-book. It is a good read, as were the others in the series.
If you like alien mail order bride books or fated mates books, you’ll like this. Quick steamy read before bed.
I love all her books.
I love these books! I really don’t know why. Part of my brain says oh my gosh they’re so silly! Alien mates! Who would actually read that? I would. I would read that. The story line here isn’t too heavy, and the characters aren’t annoying. There’s some good sexytimez. What more could you want? I like the aliens guys. I think they’re pretty awesome.
It’s a fun, straightforward romance.
Very intertaining
