I’m Starr Elizabeth Conner. Earth’s government falsely convicted me of a crime, packed me on a ship with other female felons, and sent us to Dakon, a primitive, frozen wasteland of a planet. But I’m no barbarian’s “mail-order bride,” even if he is super tall, muscular, and the chief of his tribe. He doesn’t want a BBW blonde, either—it’s written all over his chiseled face. He’ll be truly angry if … truly angry if he ever learns what my “crime” was.
I am Torg. I have waited 34 rotations for a mate of my own. With this shipment, I was sure to get a fine, sturdy mate who’ll bear me many daughters. Instead, I receive a small, curvy, pale-haired female who looks at me with anger and fear.
It is only when we “kiss” that I believe things may work out between us. But I’m hearing rumors that Starr and her shipmates are law-breakers. To survive, Dakonians must obey all laws …or be exiled into the frozen wasteland. Just when I have found her, will I have to banish my mate?

Love Alien books
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. The book is about humans living on a planet that is not Earth. Ellie has been working around Orion fixing things and being the only female among men. Ellie has been taking care of her litter sister after her mother and father leaved. Now would be the time to get the book. I will be getting more from this author.
Starr Conner starts off being convicted of murder and then finds herself shiped off to this frozen planet. Their’s more going on with her conviction and being sent away then we know, but we soon learn the details.
Torg is Chef of his village. He won the lottery to be third in line to pick a women, but due to his states he ended up being late and gets the only woman left. She’s not what he expected. Small and blonde, nothing like the Dakonian women.
Loved it. Great writing.
Mailorder marriage or convicts’ exile?
When Starr Connor is sensationally, publicly, and wrongfully convicted of Killing a Carmichael crime lord, she knows she’s in prison for life. She doesn’t expect to be shanghaied onto a spaceship and dropped off on a frozen alien world of mateless men… But what looks like an life sentence turns out to be the opportunity of a lifetime – for love, a family, a home, children – everything that life on Earth could never offer her. If her adoring new mate doesn’t find out she’s a convicted criminal… It’s a juicy and tender exploration of the meeting of two hearts, and two cultures. Outstanding world-building. Excellent characterization. The perfect touch of sexy, and the right amount of drama. This one’s a keeper.
Finding herself proclaimed guilty of murder and shipped off to another planet as a bride as punishment Starr can’t imagine a worse fate. Except the planet is reeling from a long ago asteroid collision that not only wiped out 90 percent of its females but sent the planet into a endless winter and almost stone age times technology and culture wise. Crime is not tolerated and banishmentinto the snow is a very real thing.
Believing the women to be volunteers, and not actual criminals sent from Terra.. in exchange for energy crystals… the Dakon males believe they are getting the better deal… mates… a hope for the future.. of not dying out.
I was sucked into this book from the first page.. I love a good sci fi bride trope…and this had a fantastic twist ( the women being criminals ) that gave for plenty of intrigue.
Torg is our leading man…urm alien and he’s a total marshmallow…and a wonderful blend of protector and caregiver. Starr is our somewhat fiesty heroine… together they were a wonderful read and I loved their chemistry.
A series I very much want to loose myself further in and a pleasure to read. I’ve looked at the following book in series blurbs and I will definatly be reading on.
Loved it
What a great entry into a new series. I really liked the cultural disconnect. A Fun read!
A sweet love story that will sweep you away! I loved reading Starr and Torq’s love story. The world building was intricate and detailed and i enjoyed how the characters developed and made connections. The twist at the end was as unexpected as it was epically wicked. It’s a great read, come on, get lost in it!
I read a lot of out of this world books. This series kept my attention because I have several friends/acquaintances who could be the individuals in this series. It was funny, extremely sad and did not always conform to happily ever after. Events shape all lives and even when love and respect are found in this series they didn’t all ride into the sunset.
The story of Torg and Starr was a nice mix of steam, humor, action, good looking aliens with horns that when stroked are sexually arousing. Strong women. There is action and one particular woman who is a tough cookie.
Original take on the concept of mail order brides! Really enjoyable!
I really like the premise of the book and Ms. Bristol’s writing style is easy to get into. I felt that there could have been some more depth added to the story and backstory. I’ll definitely be putting the rest of the series on my TBR list!
Interesting concept of rocks for brides. There is a slight mystery of when/how the Hero will be told the truth about his convicted bride. But, there is also the flip mystery of will the heroine be deemed innocent.
I had a hard time reconciling with the insta-love with the whole beginning disappointment between the characters. Talk about 0-60 in a single chapter.
Nice stand alone story and quick read.
Silly, fun.
The book was easy to read. The story was an original. You could see the growth and surprises each character went through. I will continue to see the series.
I would have enjoyed the book if the author had not included political and religious innuendo. I read ‘fun’ fiction to steer away from the conflicts of the world. With that said, I still believe the book is an enjoyable read if you enjoy this genre.
Terrible. The main characters, who have never met, were bonking away after a few pages. I think the author thought that if she focused on sex she really did not need to bother with the plot so much. Books like these keep me from downloading books from book bub.
Interesting
Good!
