Art dealer Sasha Montgomery is both nervous and thrilled to be invited to the Caldorian Earth Base for her best friend’s wedding to an alien warrior. One, she’s never seen an alien up close, and two, she made a promise to be there, no matter how much the idea of being surrounded by hundreds of huge alien warriors frightens her.She thinks she’s got it all under control, until Dagan, the groom’s … groom’s best friend, crashes the wedding. He’s smoking hot—way too hot to be an alien—and determined to seduce her.
Sasha gives in to passion with unexpected consequences. Ancient power rises in response to their new-found bond, and the once innocent Sasha discovers that Dagan has been keeping secrets. He’s not just another warrior, he’s a king, and the power rising between them hasn’t been seen in a millennium.
Sasha must learn to control the force clawing its way through her body…or destroy them all.

I enjoyed the plot. it’s different in a good way.
Great read
Awesome
Bought the book because it got rave reviews, I kept reading it in the hopes that it would get to a point where I felt it was deserving of it. I really didn’t enjoy it at all!
Ok there are several reasons why I picked this up, firstly I wanted something completely different to read, secondly it was free and thirdly the reviews were so awful consider me curious. Yes it is sci fi romance that borders on erotica and bdsm and even though I’ve read this genre before it’s not my usual read.
Sasha is the little, shy, downtrodden human keen to attend her best friend’s wedding. Dagan is the typical huge, alpha hero who spots Sasha and knows he must claim her before anyone else tries to. He’s also King of the Caldorians which Sasha doesn’t realise ! Add in Aliens trying to kill everyone ( although they really don’t make much of an appearance ), Sasha realising that she’s sexually submissive and to my mind the most interesting part Warriors of an apparently long dead race and that’s essentially the story.
Not terrible if I’m honest although written in such a way that all the dialogue felt very much here and now so perhaps too contemporary feeling. Misunderstandings, lack of communication and sex scenes in front of others which might or not appeal to some readers because hey this is pure escapism and fantasy. The author adds touches of bdsm but to be blunt it’s very tame. If I’m honest I would have rather had a story about the mysterious Warriors of Lumeria and the title is totally misleading because Dagan is most definitely welcome at his best friends wedding !
A fast quick read. I enjoyed it. Lovely characters and great word building.
3.5 stars. An interesting read.
I’ve read a lot of science fiction romance involving alien royalty, but this had to be a more original take which I do appreciate. I’m not sure if this person is a first-time writer as she might have written under another alias because this tale isn’t bad for a virgin writer. She shows plenty of promise and talent, talent I would hope is marshaled by a an equally skilled editor.
Regarding content. Sometimes I think a little more was bitten off than could be chewed. I remember a good lesson told to me by one of the original Star Trek Classic writers: “Only introduce one outrageous concept per episode, never two.” Remember the extremely stinky “Spock’s Brain”? Good example of such foul diapers. This is very evident at the very end which has to be the most distracting deus ex machina I’ve read in a long time. It just made no sense and almost ruined the entire novel. Almost unforgivable.
I still wish the author could had been more original in her colloquialisms because I sincerely doubt the Caldorians had similar ones to American Humans. I hate listening to total aliens with little experience in American English and colloquialisms in alien-to-alien conversations use terms that are way too millennial that developed via our own evolution of modern-day technology and social media. Caldorians did not have Facebook or Twitter. I can see Dagan experiment with the infamous middle finger gesture with Cam (after all, we all learn the expletives first before the more honorable clichés). It’s like hearing the King of the Caldorians exclaim “OMG! LOL! Ain’t that a hoot!” (That hurt typing this…) We needed more appropriate Caldorian verbal humiliation.
I will have to agree with many of the reviewers about our heroine. I know the author was trying to develop her character with acceptable flaws for such a heroine, but sadly sank into the quagmire of templated characterization. Blech! We had the chance to see how a woman who has severe PTSD with panic attacks try to pull herself out from her self-predicated isolation to grab for the chance for redemption of her injured soul. In the beginning, I knew she was battling more than just the demons first mentioned, and she did have the head knowledge to at least know she had the tools to drag herself out of this nightmarish quicksand. And you really wanted to cheer for her better efforts, but it all sludged together into a mess, one that might have taken this poor character out of the running of being the heroine of the story. I also should fault the writer with making Sasha come complete with mystical powers after a near miss with death at the very end. Now that’s been overdone in other books, but it was extremely overdone in this one. I know there was some serious scientific considerations made, and I appreciate the fact she attempted to connect info learned from the beginning to match up towards the end, but come on!! Even Tolkien ran into this problem with The Return of the King. Too much info, too many ends to tie up securely, too quick the momentum. I mean, what’s going to happen afterwards? Has the writer created a divine feminine that could take over the universe? Oops! I forgot Dagan with the shared souls scenario. I wonder if, late at night, he worries that she might actually kick his ass from Earth to the other side of the Universe.
I’ll give it to Becca Brayden that she’s made me curious. The entire concept of the Lumerian Knights reminds me of the myths and legends of Lemuria (pretty close approximation, right? I would hate to think that this might be part of her explanation (in her other books) of why Sasha was able to survive the massive power slam, not without some collateral damage. I guess we’ll have to see.
This book was a freebie, not an ARC. I like to give an honest review of all books I read.
I find myself unable to really comment on the story other than to say the characters are typical of the genre
The story while interesting was just a bit infuriating for a woman

I found the story to be almost perfect – a few things here or there but it didn’t take much away from the sci-fi romance. A unique and interesting alien romance that really packed a punch. Fast-paced and wonderful characters. I really liked the story of Dagan and Sasha.

I enjoyed the story line. The characters were okay and were beginning to grow on me, at least Sasha was. I feel it ended abruptly right after something unique just happened. I was disappointed in the ending. I don’t mind some spanking or kink, it was relatively light, but however I do mind the borderline forced consent. And using said consent to get agreements to things. There should have been a small warning for those who are extremely against it. I enjoyed the bases of the story. I felt the writing was great. I enjoyed the read, even if some moments made me hesitant. But those moments were to my personal preferences when reading and everyone’s different. If you enjoy those types of things and aliens, then give this one a chance it is a good read.

Well, this was just a fun little book. I loved every single moment of joy. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book in exchange for a free copy.
Sassha and Dagan’s story is full of misunderstandings because of being different and from Sassha’s shyness and overall innocence and of past pain that she’s endured. Dagan knows they’re meant to be together,so he’s willing to fight for her even while trying to find out who is sabotaging the Earth base and who has taken one of his Lumerian guard. Great read.

This was a well written paranormal romance with great characters and a unique storyline. Dagan and Sasha were Interesting characters and they had great chemistry. The story had drama, obstacles, sexual powerplay, plenty of steam and love.

So this was a free ARC copy from the author/booksprout for my voluntary honest review of this read and at first it took some time to get into it but then I so enjoyed it! I look forward to seeing more from this author in the future because I enjoyed her book, and hope theirs more to this series! *Spoilers Tag-Sasha’a character, through trails & tribulations, loses her”wallflower” persona to become comfortable, sexy & feisty in her own “skin”. With her confidence growing, she voices her opinions, goes “toe to toe” with Dagan, & begins embracing Dagan’s view of her as a “sex kitten”. All of which had me yelling “you go girl” out loud several times to the bewilderment of my nieces! There’s no denying the potent attraction between Sasha & Dagan’s, but I was also happy that their relationship was not always smooth sailing because it brought relatability for the reader ; and watching the sexy, buff “King Dagan” grovel occasionally to Sasha because of his over conference-thoroughly enjoyable!!! * So if this sounds like your kind of read &you want more go get the full story & enjoy it!!! It’s so worth it, it has plenty of really steamy hot sex scenes in it to boot!!! ENJOY

The story is definitely a unique take on alien culture and a few customs hit me from out of left field. But Dagan was also 100% devoted to Sasha and he treated her like any true alpha hero would, over the top possessive, protective and hopelessly besotted 🙂
The story was entertaining, memorable and a great escapism read. Throw in the mystery group of bad ass soldiers that we get to meet and I’m definitely looking forward to more books in this series.
Heat Level: 5/5

I thought this was a great story. The couple was adorable and the scenes could get pretty hot. I look forward to the next book.

I was surprised. This started a little slow for me, not really engaging. However once I got into it I really enjoyed it. This starts with our h attending the binding ceremony of her best friend to an alien. It’s pretty much insta-love though the h is both attracted to and scared of the H. There are lots of twists and turns with some surprising developments and some you could guess. Of course they make their way to a hea.
WARNING this book contains elements of D/s and spanking, exhibition and other forms of play.

This Book 1 in the Lumerian Knights Series is a well written beginning of great new series with short stories and wonderful characters. These characters are well developed and they continue to grow throughout the series and you feel you know them. This story is fast paced, action packed, full of chemistry and adventure. A must read.

Dagan Tiranon, ruling King of the Western Sector on Caldor, was walking down a long tunnel hidden under the banquet hall of the Caldorian Earth base. He was going to surprise his best friend Cam at his week-long binding ceremony to an Earth woman, but actually was trying to find out what the Council is really up to and what they want with Earth. He has 20 of his Lumerian Knights with him. Sixty others are cloaked and following behind. Dagan went inside the banquet hall and he and Cam caught up on old times. Dagan told him about a tiny woman he scared to death when he tried to help her but did not have his translator on. Most humans did not know the Caldorian language or customs.
Sasha Montgomery stood outside the banquet doors, shivering in the cold, waiting for her friend. Rachel had told her not to make eye contact with the aliens and she would come get her. The males were very tall, dominant, in control, and possessive. She kept texting Rachel but it went to voice mail. She saw the tall alien who had run toward her outside. He was gorgeous. Dagan got a plate of food and talked with Cam while he ate. When he was relaxed, he looked around the room and spotted the small human he had scared earlier. Realizing there were so many unattached males, his possessiveness kicked into full gear and he wanted to mark her as his. He called Cam over and pointed her out to find out who she was. That, Cam told him, was Sasha, his bride’s attendant and best friend. Then Rachel excitedly ran down the stairs to get her friend.
When Rachel led her sister Ashley and Sasha up to meet the Caldorians, Sasha was speechless. The huge alien had his shirt off now like the others and she could see the beautiful swirls over his body. He moved up to her, much too close, lifted her up, saying he was hugging her in the “Earth tradition” – and now he said he was ready to kiss her. The whole time, his eyes were filled with mischief. Everyone around her knew he was aware this was not an Earth greeting custom as he claimed! But Rachel heartily agreed with him that humans did do lots of hugging and kissing. He finally put her down but didn’t let her go as he bent down to kiss her lips, hearing his inner voice whisper “Mine”.
Sasha had lost her family in a car accident. Because of the fear of losing those she loved again, she avoided relationships. But she could not stop thinking about the big alien. Could she let herself love him? And will Dagan be able to help Commander Bashall of the Earth Base to find his missing brother, Torrin, the newest member of his Lumerian Knights, who had been captured by the Vilitos 3 months previous? And why are the Vilitos so close to Earth now – what are they planning?
This book is amazing! So much going on and tied together beautifully to keep the reader’s tension engaged. The characters are brought to life in their words and actions, making things real to the reader. Concentrating on the love story, the other events sneak up on the reader and take us in a whole new direction! Don’t miss this one – it’s really good!
I came across “The Alien King Crashes the Wedding” before on Amazon, but it never was the “right time” to purchase it; however, when offered on Booksprout, I took this opportunity to get my grubby little hands on it! From the first page until the very last word, I didn’t move – I even had some body parts fall asleep I was so engrossed with Sasha and King Dagan. Throughout this tale, I laughed, I cried, and many times I found myself smiling and “slapping” my forehead over the “alien to human” language and cultural blunders! I wasn’t a “fan” of Sasha at first, as she seemed far too timid for the very masculine, alpha King Dagan. However, Sasha’s character, through trials and tribulations, loses her “wallflower” persona to become comfortable, sexy and feisty in her own “skin.” With her confidence growing, she voices her opinions, goes “toe to toe” with Dagan, and begins embracing Dagan’s view of her as a “sex kitten.” All of which had me yelling “you go, girl” out loud several times to the bewilderment of my daughter! There is no denying the potent attraction between Sasha and Dagan’s, but I was also happy that their relationship was not always smooth sailing because it brought relatability for the reader; and “watching” the sexy, “buff” King Dagan “grovel” occasionally to Sasha because of his overconfidence – thoroughly enjoyable!! Although the focus is mainly on Sasha and Dagan’s courting, the secondary characters play a substantial role in keeping the story moving forward, allowing the reader more insight into who these aliens are, the personality of Dagan away from the throne and their instilled cultural beliefs. I do agree with some of the reviews, that it feels like you are starting this adventure having skipped book one; missing how the aliens came to be military allies and friends with humans, how fated mates ” Rachel and Cam” got together, their cultural differences. It would also help to explain, further, some of the more peculiar sexual customs between fated mates, in particular, King Dagans’. I am sure, with how well this story is written, we will find out more in book two of the “Lumerian Knights” series.
