My nights are filled with reckless abandon with my crew of badass biker bitches. My days are spent wearing a Ranger uniform in Big Bend. And lately, working alongside the world’s geekiest bear, Alex. Our clans paired us up on an assignment, and we couldn’t be more different. So why does my inner wolf practically go into heat whenever he’s near?He may be a nerd, but his broad shoulders and muscular … shoulders and muscular frame fill out his uniform in all the right places.
Seriously, fate? Whatever stunt you’re trying to pull, you’re not gonna win this battle.
After my cheating bastard of an ex took off with my so-called best friend, I’m freaking done with men.
All I need are my bitches, my bike and the open road.
But one night, when sh*t starts to get real with my crew and they suspect I’m a shifter, I realize I might need Alex more than I think.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Roxy and Alex can’t stand each other since the first time they met – unfortunately they have to work together on a project that neither of them can get out of. As it turns out, Alex has a urge protecting Roxy due to her rebellious behaviour he can’t quite tolerate. As time goes by everything changes and suddenly they are head over heals in love with each other… A little too twisted for my liking, but well… A nice read though.
The plot was well written and the characters were interesting enough to keep me glued to my kindle throughout the entire book!
The Shifter Nation: Werebears of Big Bend Series by the fabulous author, Meg Ripley, is one that you don’t want to miss and this book, Alex’s Mate, in particular is my favourite of the collection. Very well written and with great storylines. The characters, Alex and Roxy, in particular for this book are exceptionally well developed. I loved how Alex was considered to be a nerd – so much so that he’d actually calculated that he should have already met his mate years ago! Roxy is very different from him – in fact she seems almost the polar opposite of him. She’s not about routine and following rules, she doesn’t need a man anymore after all she put up with her ex. But she and Alex are paired together, so they’re just going to have to establish how they’re going to work together. Great fun characters between these two shifters him being a bear [my favourite] and her being a wolf. This can be read as a standalone but I’d suggest you buy the series and read, and enjoy them all. Very enjoyable and I certainly found it difficult to put my kindle down whilst reading this story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Most definitely recommended.
Alex’s Mate by Meg Ripley is an awesome story that I have fallen in love with. This is one of those stories that I love reading cause it is about werebears and I love reading about these shifters. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about shifters.

I loved that Alex was nerdy and wanted to find a mate so much he tried to run numbers for it. I also liked that Roxy was just this is who I am. I love when 2 very different people love each other and make it work. This was another great Big Bend book.

Good short read. Alex’s feels sorry for himself, because everyone else has found their fated mate, but he hasn’t. Roxy wants adventure and loves her bike. When Alex and Roxy have to work together to make a path for bikes and bicycles they can’t agree on anything. Can they get this project done? Why do they have these feelings? Can Alex save Roxy from her self? Can Roxy find what she is looking for? Will they ever agree on anything?

A captivating and thrilling book in the “Werebears of Big Bend” series! This book will take you on an exciting adventure of intrigue, drama, humour, and witty banter. An enjoyable page turner of twists and turns and ups and downs. Strong characters … fated mates but different in every way … the chemistry between them is intense and off the charts. This is an on the edge of your seat read and is definitely recommended.

The fourth book in the Werebears of Big Bend series this is werebear Alex and werewolf Roxy’s story. Alex believes in numbers to get things done and Roxy needs to control what she does with her biker ladies. They have a lot to overcome before they get the happy ending they want. This book has suspense, drama, danger, shooting, a group of biker women called the She Devils that have evil intent, and romance. I enjoyed reading this book. This is the fourth installment in the Werebears of Big Bend series. Alex is a numbers guy and uses data to get results. He ran the numbers and thinks he has missed his opportunity to find his fated mate. He thinks she is back in California where his family is because that is where he was several years ago. Roxy was hurt by her boyfriend and best friend and hasn’t gotten over it. She has missed clan meetings and decides she want to join an mc gang. These two rangers are put together to work on getting a trail for the motorcycles to ride through the park. They also need to protect the animals that are in danger in the park. They can’t stand each other at first and don’t agree on anything. This was well written, has wonderful characters and the storyline kept me turning the pages.

Roxy and Alex are not happy about being paired together on a project in their park. She thinks he’s a nerd – he says he’s cautious – so she decides to hang out with the cool girls.Turns out her new friends are into things that go beyond “breaking the rules” and into “breaking the law”. Alex’s clan members have been finding their mates, and he’s trying to find his as well. Once he and Roxy begin to trust each other, they work together to thwart a plan by her “friends” that would have a devastating effect on the park’s wildlife. And then realize just how much they mean to each other. This is the second book in this series that I’ve read, and I’ve enjoyed it a great deal.

Alex and Roxy are two shifters who are total opposites. Selected to work together in their ranger role to create a new trail through the park, they can’t stop bickering long enough to make any progress. Alex had already finished the bicycle trail plan which now had to be modified to include a motorcycle trail, accommodating Roxy’s preferences. Alex is a bear shifter and a nerd who follows rules to the letter. Roxy is a wolf-shifter whose break up with a cheating ex has left her less than thrilled with men. For excitement, she rides with a female biker group who likes to get into a bit of trouble, which is not a good idea for a ranger.
While Alex starts to feel an attraction for the rowdy wolf, Roxy is driven crazy by the rule-following bear whose number-crunching and statistics make no sense to her. Will the two of them pay attention to their shifter half and chance a relationship that might lead to a HEA? Or are they too different to agree on anything? When trouble comes, will it bring them together or tear them apart?
I enjoy this author’s books. The twists and turns keep things jumping in this one. The characters are well portrayed. Alex was likable from the start; if you don’t love Roxy right away, I am sure she will grow on the reader as the story progresses. Don’t miss what happens when secrets are revealed and danger erupts! So much going on! Enjoy the read!
Roxy a wolf shifter is teamed up with Alex a bear shifter to work together on a bike trail that would allow motorcycles to also access the trial. When Roxy rather being riding her motorcycle she teams up with a group that wants to head to a part of the park where the endangered bats are. Instead of Roxy joining it she get aide to stop it. Even though Roxy and Alex have been at each other since they met, now their not fighting it. Meg does another great read of shifters.

Great Story! I enjoyed this story of two shifter coworkers who seem to be ill-suited partners that discover through many mishaps that their differences are not as insurmountable as they thought. There’s lots of twists and turns in this story, and you’ll find yourself caught up in Roxy’s questionable escapades—as you wonder just how much trouble she’ll end up in. Alex has a lot of surprises in store for the reader as well as he’s not at all what he’s portrayed to be. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Of the 4 books in this series, I enjoyed this one the most. Sometimes, love at first sight demands a Second look for it to stick.
I was so caught up by the story, I couldn’t put it down until the very end.
