This was absolutely marvelous! It was a short, yet captivating story. I am looking forward to the next one. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book in exchange for a free copy.
The second book in the Written in the Stars series a well written short story that kept me smiling as I read. Vauv’axian Alex and human Aly’s story, of him rescuing her when they first meet. I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Zander and the others with him had been born into a world that had no women after their women were killed long ago by their rivals from the planet Qhozux. But convinced there must be someone out there for them, he researched until he located his fated mate on a planet called Earth. He and others each had a target and they came to Earth to find their female with whom they would mate for life. Zander reminded everyone they had four weeks to make contact and return to the ship. When his target wasn’t where she was supposed to be, Alex landed his pod and rechecked the map as he began to walk the streets. As he was catching up to her, a man in ragged clothes jumped in front of him with a knife. Alex disarmed him and threw him over his shoulder, then three more men stood in front of him. Alex stretched to his full height, towering over them. The two with knives ran while the one with a gun waved it at him. Alex grabbed the gun and twisted it. His map showed his female was in trouble and he took off after her.
Leroy had grabbed Aly’s arm and his other buddies dragged her off to a dirty motel room. Her friends at the bar had run off as soon as Leroy said he was taking things private, but Aly was unable to break loose. They were all set to take turns with her and she screamed. An answer to prayer, the door suddenly was ripped off its hinges and a huge guy stood there. Leroy held a gun on him and, when Aly shoved his arm away, he landed a blow to her cheek. The sudden roar startled her and Leroy flew through the glass. The huge guy gently picked her up and carried her away, taking her where he could treat her injury and explain who he was and why he had sought her out specifically.
When Alex told her, “You’re my destiny, my mate. The only woman in the universe made just for me. That makes you quite special,” I knew why I loved these guys!
This was such a good book with a story line that melted the reader (see quote above). The Vauv’axians are so gentle with the women they love. Their conversations were adorable, especially as the neural network in their head accessed Earth’s internet to interpret odd phrases they didn’t understand. Alex was amazing and confident. And Aly seemed to take everything calmly without panic, a very take-charge lady. The author’s descriptions gave a clear visual picture to the reader that made everything become real and visual. The dialog and interaction between the characters was well-done, humorous, and enjoyable. I loved the first story, but this one was even better! The humor and the feelings generated in the characters will take the reader right along. I’m fairly convinced now that you will enjoy exploring the stars with this new alien group. So far, they are absolute “keepers”.
This was a great story. It was well written and fast paced. The chemistry between the characters was sizzling hot. This book has everything you need to keep you turning pages hot sexy men, steamy scenes and some conflict thrown in. I cannot wait for what this author writes next.
